I have used and liked this product greatly. It is the only product I have used in low ceiling height applications. That said, it arrived in a two piece box that contained the ends but left the pieces exposed about 18 inches in the center and slightly damaged. Fortunately, I had enough to get me through the job. Definitely need to be packaged better in the future. I have always received these in a complete box before, hopefully this was a one off.

Easy to install and perfect when head room is at a premium.

I used Ceilingmax in the first part of my basement finishing project & was very happy with the results. This purchase of (8) 64 sq ft kits was for the rest of the area I'm finishing. Product works very well & looks great - only thing is taking out a tile to get to anything above it can be a bit tricky depending on where it is in the grid.

This is the cheapest plastic and horrible design. I’ve had to reengineer so much of this to make work for my application. Even if you had an 8x8 room this product is still bad. Best example of this is the slates are 23 1/2”. The slates hole thing looks like crap with gaps and the cheap plastic bows.

If you don’t want to deal with drywall ceiling or losing several inches of height, this is the solution. I’ve used it for 3 separate basement projects in the last 8 years and would consider nothing else.

You don’t have 25’ runners in the kit that sucks big time ! Material is kind of cheap . Not sure yet !

This product Absolutly made a difficult task easy to complete.

Instructions for installation were not very comprehensive. I like the system except the cross tees do not always fit well.

T bar finals did not click in as easily as expected.

Very over priced product, cheaply made, doesn’t look very good either and hard to take apart to get a tile out. Wouldn’t recommend to my worst enemy.

Fairly easy install. Better than trying to level a standard drop ceiling.

Flimsy. Not enough support to span ceiling truss without adding my own. Maybe good for covering existing? Rail for mounting snap in grid is main problem.

I would not install this again. First off, doing this solo is a huge PIA.. In the amount of time spent planning and installing I could have had drywall up and taped. Add the cost of tiles (raised panel) and it's easily double cost of drywall, including future access & repair. The finish is acceptable but not good. The snap in runner does not sit flush between joists leaving it wavy and the cross pieces leave noticable gaps. Not sure why the cross pieces butt instead of overlap. Just go drywall.

Easy to install only needs two inches of cieling space

Worked well. Not as sturdy as the last time I did this project. Every job is different, so it would be nice to be able to order individual pieces and not have leftovers

Excellent to work with

Great product but only if you pay attention to detail. Watch the video and follow directions and also do the following. A) when installing the cross T's check for square as you go. We had some issues with it becoming out of square on a long room. This happened after top hanger seams even though they were flush. Trim or space as needed to keep it square. B) after each row, install the runner. There's penty of room to slide the tiles over from the next row and this A LOT easier than trying to snap it in between 2 tiles. Doing it as you go allows you to get a hand above the hanger and easily snap it in. C) watch the material as you screw it in. We noticed both the wall hangers and top hangers would move/twist with the screw causing some waves. Keep it firm and don't let it move. Also note worthy: we did this on an old house with very out of square joists that are way off from being level. It worked and overall is very forgiving to install, but installing on new, flush, plumb, square, etc would be much easier. We used a multi directional laser on a tripod to find high/low points.

It is not the easy material to work with, but it looks good when it is done. I have used it before.

Manufacturers instructions are for a simple rectangular room and do not address rooms with ells or offsets, or outside corners. BTW, in long runs (over 8 feet) the wall channel is supposed to butt together and not overlap. While there is a tech support number to call to get the information you require from a friendly and responsive agent, I would prefer it be added to the literature. Product itself seems to be exactly what I was looking for. Ask me again after it has been installed for 6 months.
