So far for home projects use its performing as expected. Quiet and fast pressure refill. I would recommend it to buy.

Works just like it should and is very quiet.

Preface by saying I have not used this device extensively since installed, so performance is NOT assessed yet. This unit is typically used to inflate tires and air cleaning purposes and not operating air hungry tools as I have a bigger compressor for big jobs. The unit is amazingly light weight but solidly built and completely assembled except for the screw in air filter. Spool up is quick, controls typical and preset for about 100psi. Also this is QUIET maybe similar db to a big drill. The aluminum tank has another attractive quality in it's corrosion resistance. I confess that I'm NOT compulsive about draining condensation so this should make the tank last. Also has standard female connector for fast swap and portability. Runs on 15amp circuit easily with standard 3 wire plug.

It is very quite!

The air compressor is quiet compared to others and charged the tank quickly. However the regulator/gauge box on top of the tank was only hand tight and leaked. After talking to California Air, they advised I return the product to Home Depot and get a replacement. Hopefully the replacement is ok.

Good quiet air compressor. It is heavy and stout. Good air flow and consistant pressure which it holds well. Would recommend to someone who wants a quiet solid air compressor. Know that it is portable but not something to easily throw in the back of a car just to inflate tires, designed for more

Better than I expected

Nice and quiet.

Lightweight and very quiet.

The company set the regulator control on-off switch low so the unit wouldn't over heat from use. After adjusting it up 5 psi to the stated limits, it worked fine. Before was 85 to 115 psi. Now 90 to 120 psi.

So far it has met my expectations and it is very quiet.

like most people reviewing here, I like this compressor a lot, but mine just caught on fire last night !! We were running a single nail gun intermittently, and i noticed this burning smell in the house , so I unplugged a small heater that had been running because it seemed a little hot...went about the work, but the smell persisted. It was starting to get very strong and then I noticed smoke in the room and, lo and behold...the electric motor on the compressor was on fire !! This is an older house with 2 prong plugs mostly, but an occasional 3 prong. I had used the outlet before with no issue. the compressor is about 2 months old. I will contact California air in the morning to see what they reccommend.

It’s just what I needed. Quiet and has decent volume.

So far I been using it to inflate my car's tires and it is so quite that I can turn it on at night without awaking anybody in the house. I love it!

We reviewed so many compressors I can’t even count how many!! You won’t go wrong buying this machine. It is nice and light. It is compact. It is very very quiet. AND it has enough capacity to run a framing nailer even!!!

I like this compressor. The subdued noise and low weight make it ideal for my regular use of 23-16ga nail guns. I fired 20 16ga nails continuously before the compressor recycled and continued to fire another 30 which it more than kept up with. I do have one issue though (maybe two), firstly the safety valve leaks - not enough to impact usability, but it is annoying and I will be contacting the manufacturer. Secondly, on a couple of occasions the safety valve has blown just as the cylinder is reaching full charge. This could be a cut-off setting or relate to a weak valve; I won't worry about this until the valve is replaced. Overall I am still happy with my purchase and hopefully a new and functioning safety valve will be forthcoming and I will then be completely satisfied.

Light weight and quiet. I have a small shop and I really wanted a quiet air compressor. This fit the need perfectly.

Very quiet & recharges quickly. I wish I had bought one a long time ago. Light enough to carry with one hand.

Amazing little guy. Super quiet, little on the heavy side. Recovery time is awesome. I own two of this compressors both different sizes. Will never go back to a loud compressor again. Someone finally did it right without a big price tag.

I have never written a product review but this compressor warrants it. Sold my 25 gallon compressor after moving to a smaller home where noise would bother neighbours. This two gallon compressor is perfect for my needs. I could be working middle of the night and no one would hear anything. Perfect for nailing and stapling. Also very light at 35 pounds and well balanced in order to carry around when required. Only had it a month but used it a few times and very satisfied. It is perhaps not as protected as other enclosed units but handled it appropriately, it's fine and its low weight is worth it.

Turned the machine on and it was super quiet. Nobody had to talk loud to hear each other. Super quiet. It's been a while I've been looking and I am extremely pleased to have waited until it got to Canada. Love it.

Met my expectations.

Bought this to replace the world's loudest CH pancake compressor. Very happy with it so far. I can run it without irritating everyone in the house. Seems to have plenty of power for things like inflating tires, trim nailers, etc without cycling too much (and when it does its not loud !! ).

Light and very quiet! The compressor recovers quickly and perfect for small indoor jobs.

Out of the box, hose fitting on compressor was leaking with my hoses. I replaced compressor fitting with one from my old compressor and the regulator fitting cracked when I tried to unscrew it. Other than some cheap fittings, compressor is very quiet and easy to handle.

This is the second California Air that I own. I also have one of the 4 Gal. 2HP that has been great!!! The smaller one will be better for small trim jobs, so you don't have to carry the 70+ lb. dual tank!! If you need volume for framing guns, ETC. you will be better off with the bigger of the two!! ( BOTH ARE SUPER, SUPER QUIET!!!)
