Nice flooring and great return policy
I bought about 50 boxes of this flooring and am a first-time self installer. Flooring went down well. Hickory is harder than Oak and love the grain to it. You need to buy extra cases as my only complaint is you will open a box and the colors are awesome, open another case and they are all blonde and no grain. Thus the mix per box is like a lottery. A lot of small pieces at times as well in some cases which don't get used much. Some damaged pieces but not many, ones with cracks could cut them and use them on the ends. The best thing about buying from Home Depot is home delivery as well as being able to return what you don't use for up to 3 months.

    Bruce flooring
Although the Wood is very hard, a pneumatic gun was not used due to damage being caused to the boards. The few boards which were damaged from the box were able to be put at the ends. Had very little scrap at the end. End result is beautiful. Love the feel on my bare feet.

      Awesome looking floor.
We had to buy 11 boxes to get a full 10 that were good. A couple of broken tongues and the longer boards tended to be a little wonky. A really good variety of looks to the wood. The finished floor looks awesome. The took back the full box of wonky/broken pieces for a full refund.

      Great flooring! Beautiful and durable!
I was a little apprehensive about ordering flooring unseen. I am so glad that I decided to rely upon the reputation and history of Bruce flooring owned by Armstrong. Shipping to the store was a great option. It was a very easy process of picking it up using Home Depot rental truck. Got it loaded and dropped off at home and truck back in a little over an hour. The flooring is exactly as ordered. We are going to enjoy it for years to come!

A terrific product for a fantastic price.
Bought this during a "special of the day" sale and purchased it at a fantastic price. This is an excellent product, well made, and very good looking. Fortunately, it is being professionally installed because we are doing our entire house and it is a lot of work. I highly recommend this product.

        not very satisfied
Too many short pieces of wood. Three or four warped pieces per box. The milling of the tongue on some boards have tongues missing. Tounges split easily when stapled to the subfloor. I don't know if this will cause waves in the floor later on. The product inspection is not very thorough from the manufacturer. I was short one box and ordered another one. I sent it back because of the damage it had received during shipping. The box had been broken open and taped back together. The flooring had rubbed together and was scratched badly. I will have to try again. The other rooms I do will be unfinished wood and have a much better looking finish applied and no small beveled edges between boards to collect dirt.

          Great Product
The floor is stunning. Plan on at least 20% waste. We had some boards with knots, that had a crack, missing tongues, little holes, etc. that we found. We used them in our hall closet, pantry. under the refrigerator, stove and dish washer. I used 2" cleats with a pneumatic floor nail gun, which worked great. For close to the wall I used a pneumatic finish nail gun with 2" nails. I set the compressor at 80 psi and it put the nail in slightly below the floor top so it is easy to finish. Boards are very high quality as the floor stayed perfectly straight throughout the install. I probably would have liked some more medium length boards, but it looks fantastic now that it is completed. The variation in color is perfect.

Appears to be seconds, but not advertised that way
I am unable to give this flooring a good rating. Many pieces fit poorly, some had obvious defects which were marked in green marker. There were many worm holes and rough knots also. These really appear to be seconds, but at this price, I would expect a better quality. We bought this for our master bedroom, our builder showed us halfway thru installation about the problems he was having.

Response from Armstrong FlooringJan 16, 2019
Good afternoon. Thank you for taking the time to post a review of our product. I am sorry that there is an issue with your floor. Our wood floors are manufactured in accordance with accepted industry standards, which permit grading deficiencies not to exceed 5%. These grading deficiencies may be of a manufacturing or natural type. This is a high quality and the issues you are describing do not sound like they are normal in this line. I recommend stopping the installation and returning to the store to have a flooring associate initiate a warranty claim on your behalf. We don't sell seconds, and lesser grades of higher end flooring will be clearly marked with a "C" or a "T" at the end of the model number. Again I do apologize for any inconvenience. Armstrong

            Bruce Hickory Flooring
I have not installed this product yet, but I have installed other Bruce solid wood products in the past and have found them to be of a good (at least) value. I installed 3.5" oak in a house in Clackamas OR and after 10 years (many of those years being rolled on by a wheel chair) have found the flooring to be in great shape. I have assembled several square feet of the hickory and placed it next to our newly painted walls and it looks great. I look forward to the installation process.

            Great Product!!
My application was a little unique, I was building an Olympic weightlifting platform (you can google it) and I needed a really tough hardwood floor. This would have to hold up to jumping, heavy weights and potential rubber weights being dropped on it. So far the wood has held up better than expected!! I nailed it and glued it to insure no movement. Looks great, very happy!!

            Great Product !!
Just installed 19 boxes and all the scrap I was left with would only fill HALF of a five gallon bucket !! Very nice finish and lots of long stock in the mix. Used Bostich Mk3 with Pasload 1 1/2" staples over 15/32 plywood over 3/4" T & G Ply with 15# felt barrier.
