Decent; not worth the $$$ (ice maker is horrible)
It's a nice refrigerator but my wife can only complain. Up until now, the major issues have been with the ice maker in the refrigerator that we replaced twice and now no longer use (we eventually bought a counter top icemaker). Everybody still uses the water from the door, but no icemaking. The area under the meat/cheese drawer is often coated with ice, and the iceaker still occasionally leaks. As of yesterday, the refrigerator won't come stay cold.

    This is a defective fridge that cannot be fixed!!!
    we bought ours a few years back and i really wish i had read all these reviews about the ice maker. it really is a pain. i have an ice jam in there typically after about a week and i have to squirt hot water in there to melt all the ice. even turning the ice maker off won't fix it, it still jams up. i love everything else about the fridge, but after dealing with this for a few years i can't take it anymore and we're scrapping it and buying a new fridge. i don't want to bother trying to have it repaired because all the reviews say people have spent tons of money and it never gets fixed. it is a bad design. my only hope is to get some cash from the class action suit eventually.

        Good so far! I have read many negative reviews on this fridge. My question is did you buy the extended warranty? If you didn't, shame on you and don't complain. An extended warranty of 300.00 is a small price to pay for peace of mind for 5 years on a large purchase like this. I bought this fridge and they delivered it. After the first day the ice and water was not working. I called Home Depot and they had a new fridge to me within 3 days. You have 48 hours after delivery to request a replacement. Once I got the new fridge everything has been working great. It has been a week so I'm optimistic that all is well. Yes, I did buy the extended warranty. If at the end of the extended warranty you have not had any service calls, Home Depot will refund you 30%of the purchase price of the warranty. I just updated my entire kitchen with appliances from Home Depot and it looks great. Very pleased with the products and customer service. I have included a couple of photos for you to view.

        Design issue after Oct 2016 Update
        Samsung updates the design of their products but does not increment the model number, so it is impossible to know whether this issue will apply to you or not... sorry! A redesign between the July 2016 production run and October 2016 production run means that the upper tracked freezer drawer has been redesigned. In place of the tracked inner drawer, a new drawer is now shipping with these refrigerators that does not operate as well. The removal of the tracked drawer means that the freezer drawer now has a much louder operation, as the upper drawer has to both close an air gap and clunk up as it is pushed back. The previous design (with tracks) ensured super-smooth operation so the design change was not optimal. We own both the July 2016 version of RF23HTEDBSR/AA as well as the October 2016 version of the RF23HTEDBSR/AA and the difference in build quality was immediately apparent. Thusly, read reviews here with a grain of salt as the unit has likely seen design changes since the initial reviews were written. Support is not a help, as they point to the new design as an improvement and that it works as intended. I'm having to work on my own to try and track down a replacement drawer.

          After one year of use the ice maker drips water continuously. Through the ice chute and then on the floor. The inside of the ice maker has a huge amount of frost and quits making ice. I made adjustments Samsung suggested but no help. Called Samsung for help/service but the company they recommended has horrible reviews. Did have it serviced and a new ice maker installed, but same issues. Do not buy this refrigerator!! In fact i don't plan to buy Samsung again. Also, the ice bin is so small that we often run out of ice if 5 or more glasses are needed.

            Quality Samsung fridge!! Looked at several products and this one stood out above the others. Very satisfied with Samsung products as well as with Home Depot. Great features and a lot of space.

            Not a good product
            Most expensive and absolute worst refrigerator we have ever owned. Refrigerator part experienced water regularly collecting under the pantry tray. I was able to fix that after watching a you tube video. Then the ice maker has never worked properly. Constantly icing up and stops making ice. We’ve give up on the ice maker. Thank god we have an older Frigidaire that has never given us a problem. Have serious doubts about ever buying a Samsung refrigerator again. Wish Samsung had a fix for the icemaker.

              The ice maker always breaks given it’s located within the refrigeration unit… it basically can’t handle it own poor engineering. Good luck getting Samsung to take ownership of it either…

                Various failing components
                First review was too negative apparently, editing it to be more objective: 2016 fridge that had the icemaker fail within the first 3 and within 6 years the fridge cant hold temps anymore. Minimal amount of technicians in the area will even attempt to service the appliance and those guys charge 2x more than anyone else. I’ve had a very bad experience with this appliance and brand and wont be buying any more from them in the future, the company won’t stand behind their product which is a giant red flag to me.

                  Nice refrigerator, major flaw
                  we were happy with this refrigerator's performance and features until about a year ago when the motor started making a loud noise. turned out it was ice that had built up behind the inner back panel, unbeknown to us. ice also builds up in the icemaker, preventing cubes from dispensing. of course, our warranty had expired when that happened. i see in online samsung forums that i'm not the only one with this problem. the repairman just left after the fourth visit in a year, installing a new samsung "kit" that's supposed to fix it. frankly, i'm not hopeful.

                    this is only the 2nd bad review i have ever written. we bought this fridge 4 years ago, and the ice maker has never worked for more than a few weeks without the ice-cube apparatus turning into a giant ice cube that needs chiseled out. probably since its in the fridge which gets opened all the time. you cant remove the maker to fix it, you have to just work in that tight little space. we buy ice at this point. now for the past 2 months, the fridge wont hold temperature. the display is constantly blinking, our food freezes sometimes, and now the ice maker is too far gone to even chisel out. sometimes the motor gets so loud we can hear it in the living room. we clean the coils behind it, etc. so we know its not us. just a crappy, expensive fridge that now we have to replace.

Then the freezer door would not close. The repairman found the plastic tray mounted on the inside of the door kept coming loose. Instead of replacing it he just snapped back in place several times so I had him take it out. Next time I buy am LG.

All of the issues were with the ice maker not making ice or making hollow ice. The ice maker unit was replaced twice. Don’t make the same mistake we did, buy another refrigerator.

                              I regret buying this fridge just about every day. It’s a lemon; Samsung knows it and they don’t care. The ice machine freezes up constantly. If I had a dollar for every minute spent thawing it out with a hair dryer, I’d be loaded. The thermostat on the fridge door is currently reading 38 degrees but I noticed my milk wasn’t cold. I pulled out the good ‘ol meat thermometer and started checking temps. All my food is 56-60 degrees! I will never buy another appliance from Samsung, but if you do, get the most extended warranty they offer.

                                Two and a half year experience
                                I have never before written a long-term review. My initial review would have been average based on two factors: 1) the ice maker (as noted by many other reviews) is a very poor design. The cubed ice oft times comes out as crushed; the amount of ice it makes is small volume; it drips from the opening latch onto the tray; 2) sweating with mold build up on the seals (even after turning off the energy saver feature). This review adds a new experience. The refrigerator compressor now makes a whirring, rattling sound. Although it still refrigerates the noise is quite disturbing and I suspect at some point in the not so near future it will need to be repaired. When that time comes, unless Samsung does the right thing and fixes it gratis, I will purchase another manufacturer's refrigerator.

                                    This is the worst refrigerator I've owned. Samsung has a design flaw with their refrigerators and the coils keep icing up along with the fan. I have to take the back panel off about every three months to de-ice the fan and coils. When on three day vacation the ice build up caused the fan to freeze up and we lost all the food in the refrigerator. Also, the icemaker is totally bogus. It also freezes up and we have to de-ice about once a month. We've had several people out to try to fix it and they all indicated it is a known problem, but Samsung just ignores the problem. One of the appliance repair people won't even work on the icemaker. Don't try to call Samsung, just a waste of time. Piece of crap!

                                        This is, hands down, the WORST appliance we have ever purchased. Nothing but problems with the ice maker and the water drainage in the back. Leaks water into the fridge area and freezes under crisper drawer. Had 3 repair guys out while under warranty, but they didn't permanently fix the issue. Now we're out of warranty and completely screwed. No one willing to help now. Shocked that Home Depot even sells this anymore, considering how much $$ cost and claims occur under THEIR warranty. Literally hundreds if not thousands of people experience the same issue with this model, and Samsung is silent on the issue. Just google it, you'll find the complaints, even a possible class action against Samsung pending. Complete and utter negligence on their part. They're well aware of the issue, yet still manufacture the same faulty refrigerator model to this day. Completely unethical.
