Questions and Answers for Dyna-Glo Vertical Wide Body Offset Charcoal Smoker

A:  Make sure You are shopping your local store and the web site will tell you if it is in stock or not. You can also check nearby stores. Or buy it and they will have it at the store and tell you the date.

A:  The racks are a good size. I am able to lay a large rack of ribs on each rack and smoke perfectly. There is plenty of space.

A:  Been cooking on mine for 2 summers now. I dont use the "rib rack" they sent with it. 2 racks of ribs fit easily on one grate. That's how I cook them

A:  The grates are 22"W x 14"D and should be able to hold most sizes of ribs. -GHP Group Customer Support

A:  I have had no problem putting full racks in the cooker without having to cut them.

A:  I never used the hooks on my Dyna-Glo at all, and I certainly wouldn’t risk it with ribs. Seems to me they’d be likely to separate and fall once they reach 195 or so and the collagen melts.

A:  I have never tried it, but I can see where it could be possible. You would have to remove several racks to make hanging room. Ribs may fall after reaching tenderness. The rib rack works good. May need to cut and shorten rib to fit properly. Very good smoker.

A:  Yes, you can hang ribs. This is a great smoker!

A:  The smoker comes with a couple of rib racks. If you have hooks that you could hang from one of the shelves installed at the top of the smoker, then yes, you could hang ribs in that manner. Smoker is big enough to easily accommodate a full rack.

A:  Depends on how much food you want to cook at the time. I would recommend using a water pan to diffuse the heat as it exits the firebox, but it will limit the space for cooking.

A:  Yes but I’ve never felt the need to do so. Cooker does a good job retaining moisture but you certainly could add a water pan.

A:  Yes, it can be used with a water pan on the bottom rack.

A:  It would have to be small pieces. I use charcoal & wood chips but small pieces of oak, hickory etc. fit.

A:  yes you can but you need to let it burn down be for start smoking food and then feed it wood for your temperature setting

A:  Yes it can! We've used freshly chopped wood and the pre packaged kind that you find in store.

A:  Yes. So as long as you cut it into small enough chunks.

A:  The racks measure 13.5 inches deep and 22 inches wide.

A:  Approx 14” x 24”. There are 6 of them. Using 5 of them you can do 5 shoulders or 10 butts. Using 3 of the racks you can do 6 turkeys.

A:  Yes it has the vent shutter in the offset charcoal box.It's a little tricky to regulate with the top vent because the top doesn't close completely but once you figure it out this is a great smoker. If you go to the 360 view and spin it you can see the vent on the side box.

A:  Yes on the right end of firebox there is slinging vent. Also using the chimney vent on top. Love mine use it all the time. Little cold here in Vegas at this time good luck

A:  There is a vent on the side of the firebox, and there is an articulating valve in the chimney, although that valve does not completely close air tight. There is enough air adjustment between those two items, And if you need to get more air into the firebox, you can crack the door open.

A:  Yes, there are vents on the side of the firebox, and an articulating valve in the chimney. The chimney valve really doesn’t close all the way but it does restrict exit airflow. If you need more airflow then the vents allow, you can crack the door open.

A:  Yes, you have vents on the side of fire box and also smoke stack has vent you can adjust.

A:  Here is a vent on the side of the firebox, and the chimney has an articulating flap that can be opened or closed, although in the closed position it still allows smoke to exit.

A:  It has a small one on the side but does not get good air flow. If using charcoal it's ok but with wood I have to crack the door a little or the fire will go out

A:  I didn't measure it but I can get 2 - 15lb briskets with the water tray underneath

A:  Hello Lee, the interior dimensions of the cooking area are approximately 22.5“ in width x 14“ in depth x 22“ in height. The height was taken from the bottom cooking grate position to the top of the smoker. - GHP Group Customer Support

A:  Each rack has about 13" x 20" of cooking space. Height depends on how many racks you want to use. The smoking chamber has five rack slots. Spacing between rack slots is about 3.5"..

A:  I don’t think a full pan will fit in the firebox. A half pan might, but never tried. A full pan should fit in the smoking chamber though.

A:  A full pan won’t fit in the firebox but will in the smoke chamber. A half pan may fit in the firebox but I’ve never tried that.
