A: Yes, they fit quite nicely. As a matter of fact, I smoked a whole case of ribs at one time. I would recommend moving them around every couple of hours if you have that many in there, as the air flow gets uneven with that much meat on the shelves.

A: Hello Echo, the answer to your question is subjective to the size of the pork ribs but to help you determine if it will work, the cooking grates are 14"x14". If you have any other questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out here: http://www.ghpgroupinc.com/CTUS.html

A: Should be no problem. It comes with a rack you can hang the ribs from vertically but you should have no problem laying them horizontally on the shelves.

Q:Does insolating the smoker with silicone help with smoke escaping. And how much seasoning the smoker should be done before using?

A: All smokers leak smoke. You will not be able to stop completely. Mine leaks some and still smoke great. Just follow the simple directions for seasoning.

A: The silicone does help keep heat and smoke in the smoke chamber, especially the top corners and around the thermometer. Owners manual says to bring up to temperature (175 degrees) and hold for 45-60 minutes before first use to season.

A: I bought some high heat silicone but didn’t have that big an issue with lost smoke so i never used it. To season i burned a whole bag of charcoal along with some wet hickory logs. Since then i haven’t even cleaned out the smoke chamber. All i clean are the racks. Works awesome.

A: I used high temp gasket sealant where firebox and smoke box join. No smoke escapes.
Seasoned for eight hours at higherish temps. Seemed just fine.

A: Some folks use the sealant that is used for metal chimneys, but it's not required: Smoke needs to get out of the smoker in order to manage carburation (fresh air to keep the fire burning). For seasoning, bring it up to temperature and let the coals go cold & you're good.
