Our store diverts waste from landfills by accepting plastic plant pots, CFLs, lead acid batteries, and rechargeable batteries for recycling.
Home Depot stores sent approximately 5.3 million pounds of shredded paper for recycling in 2022. This helped the planet by preserving over 63,500 trees, keeping over 16,000 trash bags of solid waste out of landfills, saving over 50 million gallons of water, and conserving 7.8 million kilowatt hours of electricity.
Since 2010, we have decreased electricity consumption by over 52% in our U.S. stores.
The Home Depot's core values are based on doing the right thing for our customers and associates, and this commitment extends beyond our stores to our communities, as well as the environment. We are your partners in environmental sustainability. Learn more about our commitment to economic responsibility.
Welcome to the Schenectady Home Depot. It's a great day to get started on your next home improvement project.
We pride ourselves on our ability to help you finish your project, everyday. From custom kitchen cabinets to cleaning supplies our team will take care of you. Find the right product using our Home Depot product locator app – it displays a store map so you can ensure the item is in stock and know exactly where to find it. You can even use the barcode lookup to find detailed information on every item we carry.
Community involvement is important to us at The Home Depot. In an effort to fill the trades gap, The Home Depot Foundation is partnering with the Home Builders Institute to launch a joint program into high schools to provide an on ramp for students into trades. In-store, we cover a wide variety of topics in our DIY workshops, where the focus is hands-on learning and providing you with expert advice.
We're here to provide the guidance you need every step of the way. Drop by and see us today.
Sincerely,
The Schenectady Hardware Store Team

Does my local Home Depot still offer Kids Workshops?
Yes, the Schenectady store does offer in-person Kids Workshops. These in-store events are free and take place every first Saturday of the month between 9am and noon. Registration for kids workshops is now available online and secures your spot at the event. Each month features a unique and exciting new kit pack to keep little doers engaged. Kits include all necessary craft materials, kit instructions, certificate of achievement, stickers, an apron pin, and a Discovery Education extension activity. Any required tools, such as paint, are provided at the workshop. Customers who prefer not to participate in the in-person event can pick up their free kit in-store or order online at our Kids Projects Activities page to have it shipped to their home. Visit our customer service counter or call us to order your kit.
How do I check my Home Depot gift card balance?
Home Depot gift cards are a popular present for housewarming parties, birthdays, and the holidays. DIYers know they're fun to receive and to give. Purchase gift cards at our brick-and-mortar stores or online at homedepot.com. If you're a recipient, you can check your gift card balance online or visit your local Home Depot store and ask a cashier to check the balance for you. Redeem our gift cards in-store or use them to shop online with no additional fees.
