The Home Depot team really enhanced our shopping experience. We visited the Quincy location pretty late at night during the week, it was clear the store was getting ready to close. But still, we were greeted and helped! Our associate took the time to show us to the proper isle and helped us locate the item that we needed. He then introduced himself and said he would be one isle over if we needed anything else! Anthony, helped us at check out. We originally walked towards the self check out lane until Anthony greeted us and said he was help us. He was full of energy and had a great personality. Having this type of personality in the work place is really what brings customers back. We visit this store pretty regularly and it never disappoints.

32608 00002 43758 RECIEPT 465 CENTRE ST QUINCY MA STORE Today I was so embarrassed by the UNPROFESSIONALISM of two of your cashiers at this store. I have spent thousands of dollars in this store by renovating my two family home to building wooden fencing in my back yard to building my own 500 sq ft shed to building a 30ft deck and many other projects to do with my restaurant. I am a 40 y/o male who does not need to be treated like a lying child in front of paying customers by the other cashier who was across from my cashier. After assisting a customer for about 5 minutes while I was at the other register in line waiting. She asked who was next so I proceeded to head towards her and while proceeding to her, she abruptly stated to me out loud I am not the next person but the gentleman that was behind the customer I was waiting on to finish at the register I was in line with. She assumed because the line wasn't neatly formed and everyone else was in back of that gentleman, that he is the next person. While I was waiting I noticed she was busy assisting a customer for about 5 minutes so how could she be able to know who was and who wasn't next? I grew up in a household that teaches respect and courtesy and to this day - I still believe in it. So for her to state that out loud in front of other paying customers which made me feel like a LIAR and felt so humiliated. Because she was an older lady I kept it inside but my anger and humiliation was so bad that I was so angry for what she did to me but because I RESPECT me elders I kept it inside and to make it worse she gave the rolling eyes to the customer who walked over to her to give him that nod she knew who was waiting first. It might be mundane in other peoples eyes but to make me feel the way she did is unacceptable and unprofessional. Now to my cashier, He stated to me that the drop ceilings were by the box which I stated to him that they sell by the pieces as well and told me that if it was by pieces there would be a tag on it which I stated to him that the person who handles that isle wrote in marker the item number to punch in which I had to go look for since the break room workers gave me a death stare and wouldn't just assist me after I told them it's right in front of their break room and I just wanted confirmation that I could purchase by pieces which it states ABOVE the item and I wanted to show them but they refused to help stating they don't know. To finish this event, the cashier stated that he will not TOUCH the insulation that is protruding in the drop ceiling and asked how many pieces do I have. (guess we can do the honor system here) I had 8 pieces where if I wanted to I could of said less but I was brought up to be HONEST. Your store could LOSE money because he did not feel like he should touch the insulation that was attached to this ceiling. So to whom it may concern, I just want to bring this to the attention of who is in charge of employee conduct. Please bring it to their attention that it is ALL about customer service that makes a business GREAT or just another number of other stores.

When in the parking lot I've been offered assistance when putting bags of soil in my car on multiple occasions which is a huge help (they're heavy!) Mark in the Carpet Department was extraordinary and helped make our carpet buying that much better. He went above and beyond and was very patient with us while we were selecting a carpet. He even looked for us afterwards to see how we were doing in the store and tried to help us with other things non-carpet related. He is certainly knowledgeable and personable. I even came back another day and he remembered me. He made our trip to HD that much better and easier. The store was well organized and Steve in the appliance section was also very helpful. I had a very happy ending to my experience at this store (465 Centre St, Quincy MA) after a frustrating beginning. I was trying to return a utility sink pump that had failed. I assumed I could exchange it under warranty. However, I was told that the warranty was from the manufacturer, not HD. When I contacted the manufacturer by calling the number in the enclosed manual, they denied that it was their product! Employees Matt P. and Janice M. were INCREDIBLY helpful in assisting me with getting a new pump.

This store is generally neater and cleaner than the NQ location with lots of more items in stock. The service desk is hit or miss, hence 2 stars (fair rating). They have unreasonable policies for simple exchanges (not returns). I needed a broken part from an ice maker kit (their most expensive kit) replaced and they refused to give a replacement unless I brought the whole kit back in. I brought the original packaging, receipt and faulty part looking for a 1:1 exchange. The rest of the parts were already installed, working, tapped into the water line and is part of the house plumbing. I couldn't just rip it out without a major hassle. The other parts involved that HD wanted me to bring back were not the problem and were working fine. I should not be forced to de-install and break my home plumbing in the process in order to exchange parts that are not involved. I brought a new kit up to the service desk so they can open it up and exchange the part so they can be sure that nothing else from that kit was taken. But they refused to break into the kit unless I brought the entire kit back with me. They initially told me to go through the manufacturer for a new part which was not reasonable either since I purchased the kit less than 24 hours. Finally, they sent me down to the plumbing section. The person working in the plumbing department was great. He had the common sense to realize what the issue was and why I did not want to bring the whole kit back. He really helped me out of that situation. If HD management is reading this, please either change your policies or retrain your front desk employees to be more customer focused. BTW, please give the guy in the plumbing department a raise or promotion, he deserves it.
