ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE! Our fridge died 9/28/19. Decide to go to HD for labor day sale & 18 month 0% while trying to make due with a dorm sized fridge for our family. Find fridge we like on floor, but want to order in counter depth. Employee keys in item code for deeper depth, but we didn't notice since both sizes were on sale for the same price. Fridge can't be delivered until 9/10. Fridge arrived. I check for dings/dents. None so I sign. Husband comes home and realizes its the wrong depth. My mistake. I call HD and ask for fridge to be picked up and correct fridge shipped. We're told WE HAVE TO BUY THE CORRECT FRIDGE AND THEY WOULDN'T REFUND US FOR THE WRONG FRIDGE UNTIL THEY GET IT BACK. How is this any form of customer service?! (In hindsight this is the point where we should've called it quits with HD and just asked for a full refund, return, and gone somewhere else. Since we've been without a fridge since 8/28 we reluctantly agree due to desperation HD card doesn't have a large enough limit to accommodate the cost of 2 refrigerators. Need to request increase. Make request. Husband's credit report gets ding'd for hard inquiry while we're in middle of a loan process. Now have 2 refrigerators on credit card and regret being backed into making the credit line increase request, but again....desperate. Can't get new fridge delivered or wrong one picked up until 9/20. On 9/19 told delivery delayed until 9/22. Go to store and tell my frustrating story to desk. Employee agrees to finally issue refund for original fridge. Employee then explains HD Mansfield now has to own the fridge and sell at a discount. Not sure if I'm supposed to feel bad about this considering it was because of the orginal order taker keying in the wrong item #. 9/22 - Fridge arrives. No dings or dents. Wrong fridge finally taken away. Delivery person hooks up our waterline. Says everything is good. Instructs us to take out 4 gallons of water from the water dispenser before we drink the water. Delivery team leaves. 20 minutes later I start to fill up a gallon jug from the dispenser. Half a gallon in there's water all over the floor. Husband finds crack in water line tube in the back of fridge. Call delivery person to come get it. He said he has to call HD. We call HD and they say they can't help because it's a Sunday. Say they'll call us on Monday. No call back. Call at 2pm. Told we'd get another call back. 8pm no call so we call back. Told a message was left that we'd get a new fridge delivered on 9/24 and broken fridge will be picked up. Never had VM or missed call. 7:50am today (9/24) delivery driver calls and says they'll be there in 15 minutes. Turn around on ride to work and head home. Delivery driver arrives just to inspect broken water line. Does not have new fridge for us. Call HD. On hold for 15 minutes while someone calls delivery company. Hang up because now have VM from delivery company to call them back. Call delivery company. They have a fridge for us but it doesn't match the original fridge we received on 9/10. Explain that fridge was wrong and picked up on 9/22 and that we were expecting a new fridge today for the broken one. They say they'll get it scheduled for tomorrow and will call back in a few hours to confirm. Still waiting for a call back......Now we've been without a working fridge for almost a month all because Home Depot made a mistake. Then we're backed into a corner to buy a second fridge because we're in desperate need of a fridge and it's been a complete NIGHTMARE. Home Depot has not offered any compensation for this mess. We've also had to take time from work for the original delivery and today. At the very least we should receive a discount for this fiasco. No one wants to take ownership of the issue and see it through to the end which is simply called CUSTOMER SERVICE. Home Depot should be ashamed of themselves expecting customers to buy a second appliance to make up for their mistake! Not to mention the extremely poor communication between Home Depot and the logistics company. They have no regard for their customers satisfaction whatsoever. Too bad we had to learn that the hard way.
