This store management team must be doing something right with the team members they hire to interact with their customers. I live in Texas but the helpfulness at the Lake Charles location between the two is like night and day. My husband and I are rehabbing houses in Lake Charles so we spent thousands of dollars and i'm happy to return to this Home Depot and spend my dollars. The employees don't avoid me, walk fast, or seem preoccupied in order to avoid questions. As i serve as the "goffer" for our projects, these employees are always greeting me and asking me how they can help me with genuine willingness.

Hardware on hand easy to locate, helpful staff

Employees in bathroom and flooring dept. was very nice and helpful,and was knowledgeable and able to explain how to install products i purchased during my visit.

If you need anything from the Garden Center, Mr. Michael is the Gentleman you need to speak with. Great customer service!

Very good experience. Got a refund on items returned without my receipt. Was shown exactly where the right items where. Employees Charlotte and Thomas were friendly, courteous, knowledgeable, and caring. This was the best experience I had at a local store.

Good helpful

I went to purchase and bring home (on that day!) the matching dryer for our washing machine. Home Depot had the price beat by $100 dollars. Price of the matching dryer is the reason the purchase was made. Got to the store, went to department, waited for 10 minutes before someone who tried to get the associate came by and started looking for the associate. I called the front of the store on my cell phone and asked for assistance in the appliance area before the associate showed up. 20 minutes total wait. Associate was cordial and apologized for the delay in service, then proceeded to locate the product and pricing on the computer. Associate informs us that no dryers are in stock, because the store is no longer large enough to stock items they sell! The nearest store (60 miles away) stocks items! I agreed to make the purchase and set up a delivery date that was convenient for me. I have lived in the area for 27 years, and have not experienced this situation ever before. Asking standardized questions in a review does not prove anything, customer service does, that is the reason for my disappointment.

The store is very clean and neat but the only bad thing I have to say is that the SELF CHECK OUT CASHIERS NEED TO FOCUS ON CUSTOMERS NOT ON CELL PHONE USE

Love Home Depot's outdoor (landscaping products) stock that is available year round.

I went to Home Depot to pick up some items. I went to the self checkout to pay for my items, yet did not see anyone there. I knew that without my Home Depot credit card present, even if I entered my social, the computer would still require a cashier to enter my driver license number for verification. So, I went to the customer service desk, explained my situation, and politely asked if the woman there could check me out. When I told Aleigh that no one was at the self-checkout, she said, “yes, there is!” very stearnly. (There was absolutely not someone there when I went there.). Then, she proceeds to prove me wrong by calling the cashier who somehow conveniently popped up at the self-checkout. After she got an answer, she rolled her eyes. As someone who has worked and stood at the exact desk Aleigh stood at for a few years, I am appalled that Home Depot would have someone like that who lacks customer service skills at the “customer service desk”. All she had to do was simply check out the few items I had using the POS system right next to her, instead she chose to be rude, so she could continue to play on her phone!!!! Really Home Depot?!?!

We drive from DeRidder la to the Charles Home Depot because we really like that Store! The employees there make that store a really good experience. They are always smiling, asking you if you need help, and know the products, etc.

Store was clean just lack help at my time of visit. Check out was long due to having only 1 cashier to check out. Overall good store

As far as the workers, they don't seem eager to help. This has happened on more than one occasion. They really need a motivation shot in the butt.
