Our store diverts waste from landfills by accepting lead acid batteries, rechargeable batteries, plastic plant pots, and CFLs for recycling.
Our stores sent approximately 5.3M pounds of shredded paper for recycling in 2022. This has helped the planet by preserving over 63.5K trees. It kept over 16K trash bags of solid waste out of landfills, saved over 50M gallons of water, and conserved 7.8M kilowatt hours of electricity.
LED lights in your local store saved on energy consumption by 98 million kilowatt hours. Many stores also participate in renewable energy initiatives such as wind and solar.
The Home Depot's core values are based on doing the right thing for our customers and associates, and this commitment extends beyond our stores to our local communities, as well as the environment. We are your partners in environmental sustainability. Read more about our eco actions.

It's also an excellent time for outdoor lawn and garden work, as well as setting up new storage, appliances, and cleaning indoors. Remember to replace your outdoor power equipment and grill as well. Get it all done when you save during our spring sale, which runs only from April 4th through the 28th. Don't miss out on these savings.
What Mother's Day deals can I find?
The Home Depot is having a Mother's Day Sale from May 2nd through May 12th, so you can find Mother's Day gifts ranging from tools to patio furniture early this year. Check out deals on smart home accessories, too. If you're not sure what to get, a gift card is always a winner. Shop on our mobile app or drop by in person to see Mother's Day deals at the store.
