Ok- so quality of the paint itself is excellent, and covers well with 3/4 nap, but this paint WILL NOT stop mold from growing though. Contacted Rustoleum 2x- they confirmed this. They really should just get rid of the mold and mildew proof part of the name, and call it concrete block paint. That's all it is. If you are like 99% of Americans who have minor basement mold- no amount of bleach, vinegar, or scrubbing will ever kill it completely. It will grow through this- I prepped for 2 weeks with wire bush and scoured and soaked walls in vinegar bleach solution. Paint looks great, fumes took 3 days to clear out completely with this oil based version, but 3 weeks later- mold is starting to come through proper 2 coats of paint applied backbrushed with roller as recommended.Again- this stuff WILL NOT stop mold from growing through. Apparently nothing sold on market will- I researched for months. No mold killing primer is made to work on porous concrete block. Only way to get rid of mold on block is dig up your house, and put in French drains.

Product was recommended by pro basement waterproof Co. As best way to stop water and mold on block. Basement was painted with Drylock many years ago but Was starting to blister and have mold spots after 25 yrs. takes lots of prep on lose areas but this covers extremely well. Down side is it’s oil based so clean up and splatter is tough to clean. Mold disappeared and will not grow in oil base but you need to really scraped loose and for unpainted use an etching product or it will come back in a few weeks. I had some dry lock so I ground off loose areas, etched it and primed with it before painting with the Zinsser product. It looks great.

So far so good. We had it professionally scrub cleaned. The smell an dampness were gone. I waited two weeks and applied the paint. I followed the directions. We have had a lot of rain and its dry. Both cans had large dents, but were fine when I open the one I used. However, I did not need a two pack and hope you will take one back. I still more than half of a gallon left. Please take the other one back that is up opened.

After the recommended two coats it feels like a thick coat of plastic on our basement wall. It's ability to withstand moisture intrusion has yet to be tested, but if it performs as advertised I'm confident it will keep us dry. It sure looks and feels promising.

sent me primer instead of paint and I wasn't home when my handyman opened it so then I had to but paint to go over it.

with very smooth concrete are newer concrete I would recommend to use a concrete bonding component that can go into the concrete and allow this product to adhere better I use a rotary pressure washer with a cover and a vacuum cleaner to pick up excess water prior to cleaning to make certain all the loose concrete forms are all blown out to provide a better more secure surface also if you have efflorescence built up into the concrete a battery substance that reaches down the wall that must be properly removed I found a way to spray the product and back rolling and had exceptional results and the second coat simply sprayed it so we built up and even thickness layer across the surface most people will not have powerful spray equipment so shamefully use very heavy duty small roller and avoid the desire to use a real sick roller and use a 3/8 inch high quality nap roller do small sections at a time 3-foot by 3-foot

Really challenging to apply...but stay with it...apply the first coat with a brush then using a 4 inch, 1/2 nap roller, back roll. For large surface areas, a larger roller (8"-9") makes for a very "heavy" application...this stuff is thick.Wait for 48 hours then apply second coat...I found that using a 4 inch, 3/8 nap roller.Make sure you continually stir...the product again once the surface is properly prepared (cleaned)and applied per above works great.

The paint went on easy and filled in every crevice.

had a major leak on basement inside wall. We put on three coats, we had leaks in three areas and it has been raining and snowing and this product sealed it. I would definately recommend this product.

“Waterproofing paint” is misleading, it’s simply a band aid. It will moisture proof your walls. This is the best cost effective product on the market and it will stop mold growth. Don’t waste your time with the latex version, oil based version is best and doesn’t smell bad while working with it.

Great coverage. Kind of gummy but dries fine. I would recommend the primer 1st then the top coat.

Went on easy and no odor smell. Now we will have to wait and see how well it stands up to its claims.

Doesn’t go far and very thick and heavy to apply but was expected. Applied over UGL drylock. Doing what it says. Basement stayed dry through 4 inches of rain. Happy with results.

Well, over the past year I have tried everything on the market to clear up a small, nagging problem I had. NOTICE: I said HAD! My problem was a very small area in our laundry room that constantly showed a small damp area on the white wall in 5 areas. After going to Home Depot and talking to an employee in the paint dept. about my problem, he suggested a certain paint {which I will not mention} to use. After trying the "solver", I was really hot under the collar. The man didn't know what he was talking about. I went online and up comes Zinsser. I ordered it through Home Depot and had it delivered to my home. This stuff is a miracle in a can! It's pricey, but it definitely works. Don't waste your money, buy this first.
