Quieter and better cleaning than expected
We had been led to believe that such a small dishwasher would be very noisy. We were pleased with its quiet operation and the quality of the cleaning. Very easy to use, and very easy to install beneath our kitchen counter. For the quality is reasonably priced.

Quite, efficient, dishwasher for small places
I'm pleased with this purchase. Fits more dishes than you would expect for the size and runs very quietly.

            Overall pretty good
Overall this dishwasher is pretty good. Very quiet and it does an excellent job cleaning dishes. Takes ~2 hours to go through an entire "normal wash" cycle which isn't too bad. However, the layout design inside the dishwasher is TERRIBLE! The upper rack's tines are not conducive to cereal bowls, the lower ones do a poor job of handling both large and small plates. I invariably spend 10 minutes trying to get my dishes to fit and we don't use a lot of dishes.

Great Appliance in a Small Space.
I have been impressed with the functionality of this dishwasher. It was placed in a very small kitchen and without its small dimensions, a dishwasher would not be practical. It completes its task and compliments the other appliances well. I will use this product in other renovations.

Dishes have to be clean before going in the dishwasher
This dishwasher doesn't seem to clean dishes with stuck on food very well. I find that if I rinse the dishes immediatly after eating, then run them through the washer, they come out clean. If the dishes have sat, and food has dried on them, the dishes come out of the dishwasher with food still stuck to them.

              Small DIshwasher
I love my dishwasher! I have a small kitchen and putting in a full sized dishwasher would have taken away a stack of drawers. We went with the 18" dishwasher and it works great. We are a family of 5 - with my 2 older children and grandson and it works just perfectly for us. I start it before I go to bed and the sound is quiet - I don't hear it in the bedroom. The dishes are very clean - I have not had one that wasn't yet and we have been using it for over a month. Love my new dishwasher!

                Great small size dishwasher
This dishwasher is a great value at its price, many other models were more expensive for not much more in features. The dishwasher is solidly made and cleans dishes really well! It's not super quiet that's true but you can watch TV or have a conversation with no problem. There is also a delayed start if u want to run it while you're asleep or out of the house, I have not used this yet as the sound does not bother me. I have not had the dishwasher very long but so far it is one of the best purchases I've made in a long, long time.

Cleans quite well and fit where most others couldn't
My house is from 1926 and has 23" deep counters and 22" deep space from the back of the cabinet inside to the front of the the cab outside. I searched and searched and finally decided on this model as a balance between price, ratings and the ability to fit into my space. I've installed three DWs in my day now and this one went quite smoothly. Using it is a pure joy! What was once a daily chore that took time and cluttered our counters until it was done now is so much easier. I didn't have high expectations for the level of noise it put out but have found the noise to be non-obtrusive. It has cleaned just fine on normal setting with us giving our dishes a quick rinse before putting them in. I'm still not quite sure how to load the rinse aid. Does it get loaded every time or only when the resivoir gets depleted? There is a window you're supposed to look through to tell when you have filled the res enough but I could see no difference even the first time I filled it. Perhaps that's related to my next comment which is that the heated dry, which we always use gets the dished on their way to being but does not thoroughly dry them. All in all it's cute, quiet, stainless inside (which I like) and great at cleaning my dishes so I'm very happy with my purchase!

Summary of the good, the bad, and the ugly for this 18" Whirlpool dishwasher
The good: We liked that this model had nice features that were easily accessible from a touchpad and that it was Energy Star rated. So far the unit has done a great job of cleaning our dishes. The bad: Though this unit does have insulation to reduce the sound when it is in operation, it is definitely not quiet, and we only operate it when we're not planning to be in the same room for an extended period of time. I personally feel that the price for all apartment-sized dishwashers is too high, and this washer was no exception. On the plus side, it was hundreds less than the "top" 18-inch models. I rated the value as fair. The ugly: Two things I was disappointed by: 1) The front of the dishwasher has a big, gaudy, "Whirlpool" brand mark that doesn't appear in the picture. It consists of raised, silver, script lettering that's approximately 3" high and 7" wide. 2) The kick plate below the door comes in two pieces and is a serious pain to take on/off. This does allow the height of the dishwasher to be customized without leaving a gap, but will be impractical to remove to clean the floor at/under the base.
