I bought this dishwasher 3 months ago and I'm very happy with it! I've had dishwashers in the past and at times have had things come out dirty or streaked, but with my whirlpool, everything comes out shiny and clean, It's also the perfect size for my small family!

Poor
There is not much I like about this dishwasher at all. The silverware basket does not fit snug and therefore I find my silverware on the bottom. The racks have prongs that are so tight that my dishes do not fit. It is not user friendly for loading at all. The dishes are always wet at the completion of a cycle. This is the fourth dishwasher that has been in this house. I paid the most for this one and get the least in return. I would never recommend this to anyone. The only plus is the stainless interior. Other than that, it is garbage. It took 4 install dates to finally get it in and it is still not a good fit but the best they could do. I must say thought, Home Depot was more than fair with me and worked quite well with me.

Quiet and roomy
We purchased this for our office. It's very quiet and holds 10 coffee mugs and 10 dishes and lots of silverware - and cleans/dries very well.

whirlpool dishwasher
It cleans very well but does not Prince the soap off the dishes completely, currently trying a higher grade soap to see if that helps

Fit well into my new small kitchen. Allowed space for an 8 inch wide base cabinet between dishwasher and range for cookie sheets.

The dishwasher fits perfectly in the space I have. The dishes get sparkly clean and I don't have to worry about over use of water. Thanks Whirlpool you did it again!

Well Worth Having
This unit holds a sufficient amount of kitchen items, enough to finish my whole dinner mess. A 24-inch would have made my small kitchen look funny, but this unit completes the picture and does the job it is built to do besides. I am very pleased, not at all disappointed for having this 18-inch unit instead of a 24. After all, it's still a Whirlpool!

Seems ok when it works.
Dishwasher worked for about two weeks. Then the controls started to short out. Bumping the dishwasher would turn it off and on. So I would have to bang it to get it to turn on so I could start the washer. Other times it would just turn off during a cycle. It took months and 5 service visits to get it fixed. To make matters worse, the repair company A&E, never showed up 3 out of the 5 times during their scheduled 8am to 12pm time window. Two of the times, they didn't bother calling me to let me know they weren't going to make it. Whirlpool refused to replace my unit so A&E eventually just got all new parts and replaced them. It worked but I was skeptical.
Two months after they fixed it, it's broken again. The button for the normal cycle doesn't work. The best part is that Whirlpool keeps sending me letters for an extended warranty.

POOR Service by Whirlpool
I bought this dishwasher to replace an old GE dishwasher. Not much choices for 18 in. dishwashers. I bought it online on 5/4/14 and got it delivered very quick on 5/9, about a month later my tenant text me that the dishwasher is not working anymore. So I call Whirlpool, each time I call it takes almost 30 minutes before you get to talk to someone. On June 20th the 1st service visit, he checks a wire is loose. The dishwasher electronics turn on and off after he left and it sometimes works and sometimes it does not. My tenant notifies me again that it does not work. I called the service company direct and set apt for 7/11/14. The dishwasher electronics is turning on and off by it self (check the video), but will not wash dishes. There is a something wrong with the electronics. The tech comes and checks and still not working, he will have to order a part. I call Whirlpool waiting over 30 minutes to talk to someone. Not a very productive conversation, not even I am sorry our product does not work. I asked to talk to a manager, was told he will tell me the same, I had to request to speak to a manager 2 times, after placed on HOLD to long, I hung up (over 50 minutes on the phone). He kept saying Whirlpool is administering the warranty, I am not sure what that means. I paid $737.83 after install/ taxes and I don't have a working dishwasher. Today 7/15 I called the service provider and was informed that they had to order 1 part from Whirlpool, which will be expedited, but will not know till 7/23 when the service can be scheduled. Very poor service and I can't believe that it takes that much time to get it fixed. I am a Landlord and have responsibilities. Would love to be contacted by Whirlpool and get this solved.

I purchased this dishwasher after returning a defected new Kenmore. No comparison between the two, the Whirlpool is hands-down a better choice in every aspect.

Sleek, small, effective
I've had this a few months...used it a few times. It works well, cleans the dishes (although you have to thoroughly rinse them before putting them in). Doesn't dry as well as I'd like. Moderately noisy, but not bad. Overall, pleased. Great for a small apartment where you don't have a lot of space width or depth wise. Holds 1 dinners worth of dishes, I'd say!

Great little dishwasher
I had a very small space to put a dishwasher in, so opted for the 18". I researched for a good 6 months before purchasing and found that the Whirlpool is the best unit for the price. I've had many Whirlpool appliances and am sold on the brand.I thought I would be forced to do lots of hand washing given the size, but surprisingly, it's quite roomy and holds a large amount of dishes. There's a cleaver little drop down rack for large utensils, etc., on the top rack. The lower rack is tall, allowing quite a bit to fit. Very good interior layout. It's not silent, but not noisy either. I have no problem hearing a conversation, talking on the phone or watching TV while it is running. Does an excellent job of cleaning.

It works great and I am happy with this purchase!
I have needed a new dishwasher for a long time. After a ton of searching I finally settled on this design. I think it is working well! The only complaint I have is that sometimes the dishes are a little wet, even after I press the heated dry option. In my old washer I never had to press that to have heated dry, but I believe with the newer technology (I think it used to be a heated coil?) that you must press that if you dont want wet dishes when you open it up.

Very pleased!
I have very limited space and was forced to purchase and 18 inch dishwasher. I had many reservations, and was certain I would still be doing lots of dishes by hand given the size. I was extremely surprised by how much can be loaded into this little baby. The interior layout is well thought out and I have no trouble getting everything in. The first time I used it, I purposely used extra dishes to see how this would go. I actually had extra space and could have put quite a bit more in. Before I bought this dishwasher, I researched for 5 months. What I found is that there are the cheaper models, but they often leak and have plastic bottoms. I've had quite a few Whirlpool products over time and have had only good fortune with their products. By the way, the delivery service was extremely good.
I do not find the dishwasher noisy. It's not silent, but I was in the room next to the kitchen and could easily watch TV, talk on the phone, etc. without the noise interfering. It's actually much quieter that my previous dishwasher.

First one defective but
The first dishwasher installed leaked throughout the new kitchen from a defective part. Our installer said do not repair, get another new one. We needed this small size, otherwise I would purchases another brand. After another 2+week wait, another Whirlpool dishwasher was installed. 2 months later still working well - no leaks. It does work well for a small dishwasher. It is all a 2 person household needs

Good, not great, dishwasher
This dishwasher replaced one before it that was deficient in a lot of ways (we were happy when it gave out!), and it does a decent job. Dishes are always clean (not true before), and the interior isn't filled with soap scum as it was with our old dishwasher. So, it performs like a dishwasher should! Also, it's fairly quiet, in my opinion--doesn't bother me or drown out the TV or music when it's running. Negatives noted thus far (we've had it for about a month now): The heated dry function doesn't dry very well--we usually crack the dishwasher and let dished air dry after the cycle ends. Also, the design of the bottom rack is not great--there are too many tines, which make it hard to load the dishwasher efficiently. All said, it works perfectly well.

Super quiet cycle
Unfortunately I have limited space so I had to buy a smaller dishwasher; it feels small inside. It runs quietly & I barely even know it's on. The design outside is nice & user-friendly.

Perfect for small space
I wanted to work a dishwasher into my kitchen renovation but don't have much space. My household consists of my husband and myself so we only have to run it a couple of times a week. It gets my dishes clean and sparkly and runs relatively quietly.

Product is generally good but has a few issues that could be
we ordered this dishwasher for our renovated kitchen because of space issues. We wanted a dishwasher but a regular size would not fit it. The dishwasher is now running well, but it took us awhile to figure it out. The first problem was streaks and stains on the dishes and the door of the dishwasher. I have had a dishwasher in other homes, but this had me stumped. I tried changing the small adjustment for hard water and that did not help. I had our water temperature checked by a plumber but that proved to be ok. Finally I bought the premium dishwasher detergent and that solved the problem. It is a little disconcerting that I have to buy the very best detergent or the washer doesn't work well. The rinse dispenser is difficult to deal with. The little window that indicates when rinse aid is needed is very hard to read. The first time I filled it I had no idea when I had put enough in, so, of course, I overfilled it and ended up with rinse aid all over the door. Finally after a couple weeks I think I have it figured out, but it's not exactly user friendly. And finally, the top rack is very difficult to move in and out. It does not move smoothly and the glassware rattles and jumps as I move it in and out - not a serious problem, but an annoyance.I know I cannot expect this little guy to have the features of the bigger and more expensive models, and I wish we could have put in a regular size dishwasher, but you asked for a review so here it is. Hope it gives you some useful information.

Works well so far
I bought this dishwasher because I needed a shallow one to fit in my kitchen. It really is only 22 inches from the very back to the very front. Most similar dishwashers were at least half an inch deeper. Other dishwashers in this price range seem to be nearly identical inside and are likely all made in the same factory. I'm not sure why this one is shallower, maybe the controls on others stick out more.
The dishwasher seems to work fine, my dishes come out clean.
I've only been running the dishwasher for a few months so I can't speak to how long it will last but nothing about it makes me think it shouldn't last as long as other dishwashers.
