Thank you for sharing your experinece, Pate. Rust-Oleum Watco Danish Oil is mostly a penetrating product and will harden in the wood. If wanting to add more shine, we recommend allowing the oil to dry for at least 72 hours and then top coat with a polyurethane. We recommend Rust-Oleum Varathane Water-Based Ultimate Polyurethane.

The product itself is excellent but the only reason i give it 3 stars is the container. Even after using pliers on the lid while pressing down with my other hand I was not able to open that ridiculous lid! Come on Watco, make it easier!

Excellent oil for wood cabinets!
This product is excellent for cabinets. When I use to polish our cupboard it looks brand new. It’s restore to its original color of the woods. I highly recommend this product.

My Sjoberg Bench is 38 years old and never treated with anything. I scraped it off with card scraper, orbital sanded with 180 grit and 3 coats of Watco Danish Oil. Perfect finish not too slick just right for woodworking.

Easy to use one-step glossy finish
Easy to use one-step glossy finish. No waiting and sanding, just wipe on, wait a few minutes for it to soak in and wipe off excess. Seems much more natural than coating wood with a layer of plastic (polyurethane).

Use Watch Danish Oil frequently and this last piece was for a BBQ cart on BBC a covered patio. The material goes on easy and you have a varier If options for the finish - wipe on, brush on, hand rub. Two coats applied then steel wool rub - worked great and looks great!
