It's a wood dowel. It is round and straight.

nice straight dowels, some spalted which looks pretty cool. I would give 5 stars but they're not an inch diameter. I put calipers on them and they're .94"-ish. I'm not sure what fraction that is, but it equates to a sloppy fit in a hole from a 1" forstner bit.

I bought the Waddell 1-1/8in x 72in hardwood Dow, to make a bo staff. It was exactly what I needed, it was straight as a arrow. For under ten bucks I was able to make a nice bo staff. I'll be buying more, soon.

Have to return one rod that is splintered almost through so cant use it.

The dowels worked well for the tepee I made.

Beautifully sanded hardwood. I use them for physical therapy exercises and they don't need any treatment.

I would have preferred 5/8 in instead of 1/2 in but Home Depot did not offer it.

Nice product. Smooth finish and correctly sized.

make sure you inspect them before you leave the store. We had some that were warped and some that had knots in them making them break.

Eh.. Kinda disappointed. The dowel is Poplar. It's a stretch to call it "Hardwood". They should put the wood type in the description. The dowels I received were ugly and bowed also. I need shorter lengths so not the end of the world but I got two and both were not straight.

I ordered a big bunch of these to use a curtain rods for the entire house. Some are not completely straight but they will work just fine. They have a nice smooth finish and take paint easily. Just what I was looking for. Saved me hundreds and hundreds of dollars!
