Have been sticking the basic round medium-size vornado in my kitchen window for years - but this is so perfect, I had to get this one for the window and move my round vornado to the floor! I have a small slider window and this fits in the window absolutely perfectly and with the buttons on the top, it's super-easy to turn on/off and change speeds without having to move the fan to get to any buttons on the back or side - excellent design feature! Only reason I gave it a"good" for quietness is because the noise level does increase fairly significantly when you go from MED to HIGH speed - not as noticeable going LOW to MED. But NOT a deal-breaker and I think I'll get another one for the other window!

To save money, my employer has decided not to air condition the office after hours or on weekends. I live in DC and in the summer it's triple digits easily. This fan is great--it's very quiet and low profile so I can have it on and no one will know except me. I won't disturb my neighbors on either side and it makes a big difference in circulating the air and bringing down the room temperature. It is also slim and fits under my desk or in the filing cabinet. It was expensive--as Vornado products tend to be--but you get what you pay for. I'm very happy with my new fan and would recommend it anyone looking for a quiet fan for their office or home.

This is my fifth Vornado fan and like all of the others it moves the air efficiently and quietly. They are a great value and have all lasted for many years before meeting their ends: one got dropped, one the control knob burnt out (it survived dropping!!) and the largest model still runs but is "off center" and wobbles (dropped probably!!) They certainly have paid for themselves through years of service. These fans have been in my high school classroom in Hawaii and have endured hundreds of students moving them and touching them. THEY RUN SO QUIETLY. I have OTHER non-Vornado fans and I cannot stand the noise that they produce. Once you have had a Vornado there really is NO going back. That said, I like the new model (270). I like the buttons that have replaced the twist knob and that the swivel feature in gone; nothing for my students to over rotate. They have kept it simple and as a result I believe this model will outlive all of the others.

this fan can really blow some air. It appears to be built very well and time will tell if it was worth the extra money. So far, we like the fan and it's definately moves a good deal more air than our other three fans.

Decent value. Massive airflow for a 10" fan. It's a bit loud, but that's just physics -- small fan, really high airflow. The housing is curved and angled slightly upward (when it's not on its back as it can be positioned for upward airflow). The downside to this stylistic design is that the unit cannot be (easily) used as an evacuation fan (i.e., pointing it outside by setting it in an open window or sliding door and then closing the window/door up to the housing).

sleek, attractive, small but moves a lot of air. I got tired of all the noise from my other fans. Switched to this Vornado and couldn't be happier.

It puts out a strong blow and it feels like a breeze at 30 feet. My neighbor came over and walked in front of it and immediately noticed that the air within 5 feet of the unit was blowing out "cold" air. She wanted to know where I got it and was going to get one the same day. As with any fan, there is a noise but this one has less noise than the others I've had with less blow.

The fan earns the name... since i use it on a daily basis on and off at least twice a day for the year i have owned it. the fan has never falterd, gave in or broke down like most i have owned. the beast chops air to cool me down from a hard days work and a nice breeze at night and all i do is clean it once a week.

I received the fan and have been using the fan for the past couple of weeks at the landing of my second floor. The fan has a modern look but is very noisy at the high speed. My tower fan seems to circulate the air better and noise level is much lower at high speeds.

I like the fan but after running for a few minutes it begins to vibrate and make a humming noise that I find annoying. I have other Vornado models that are perfect.

I purchased this fan in August, after my ceiling fan broke down. The Vornado 270 circulates a lot of air. I have it on the floor atop a small box in front of an open window, blowing the air the length of the room.

This new V102 is so sleek and powerful. I love having 3 speeds to choose from. I turn it oh high and place it about two feet from the A/C vent in the floor. Wow, it really makes a 4-5 degree difference in our home. The floor-saving space design has impressed many visitors. I find this fan an exceptional value.

Moves a ton of air, very quiet. Love the Vornado!

As most people know, it gets pretty darn hot during the summer here in Texas. My home A/C has to work double time during the day just to try and keep my house cool. With the addition of this circulator placed in my hallway, my A/C is able to cool other parts of the house with less effort and running time. Along with the smaller Vornado circulators in the bedrooms, my electric bill has lowered to a reasonable amount.

I am just loving my "POWERFUL" Vornado V102. I got it during the heatwave to avoid energy costs due to air conditioning. I don't even have to turn my bedroom air conditioner on as this fan is "extremely" POWERFUL!
