I've used it every winter for the past two years. Really is a huge difference in SAD. (Seasonal affective disorder.) Love it so much I gave to as gifts this year :-)

I have another Verilux light that is much brighter. I guess I was expecting the same brightness with this one, but it will do.

As soon as I saw the package from Verilux, I sighed in relief. I have seasonal affective disorder, as in DISORDER, and I can't take meds. My light has kept up off the floor for years. My old one finally died. I am sooooo grateful for this new one. It might be placebo effect, but I swear I can already feel it working. Thank you. And, thank you that the light isn't expensive.

My happy light is a blessing I live in northeast Ohio not much sun in the winter. I am mush Happer and the light works great

I've been using the happy light for almost a week now for 10-15 minutes during my first meal of the day. I will increase to half an hour and add reading my e mails as well.

Bought for my son/new job with long hours. Can use at desk while working. Perfect.

Now that it’s getting dark depressingly early, this light is bringing me back some joy

Customer Service was wonderful! I have an old unit the VT 10 and it was a great unit and improved my mood. Looking forward to Happy Light Compact to do the same.

The light itself seems to work OK, as I live in Washington and it tends to be fairly gray and cloudy/rainy in the fall/winter months. I seem to get a bit of an energetic feeling after sitting near it each morning. The WORST part is being asked to review the item a week before I receive it! Your company did that the last time I ordered one for a family member.

Adjustable angle is a nice feature and the accessory for softer light is my preference.

During the months when the days are dark, I usually want to go to bed early around 7-8. I use my light during this time and it helps keep me awake a productive.

Starting each November, I sit with this light every morning for at least half an hour while I drink my coffee. It makes a huge difference for me. My mood is lighter, I can think clearer. I don’t go to that dark depression like I used to.

If you’re light sensitive it works just as well if your eyes are closed. I use it every morning for my snooze

Works so far, haven't used it very long but I feel a little energy boost later in the day.

Happy light is simple and easy to use. Very bright

I used my other Verilux for years before it died then ordered this one because the same bulbs worked in the newer model. Using this light during the short, dark, and rather cold winters really helps my mood. If I did not have the light, I think I would sleep all day!

We had a bigger light, but 2 of the three bulb sockets quit working. Decided to try this one, and was pleasantly surprised. It is very bright, and the smaller size means I can take it on trips. Excellent value. Would highly recommend. Also, have bought bulbs from this company and service is great.

My former HappyLight was stolen (not kidding), so I finally replaced it. Only thing I *don't* care for is the surface size is too small (compared to my former full-sized model). Thanks!

I have various problems when it gets cloudy for many days in a row. This light has helped to “brighten up” my days! I have more energy, I’m eating less and sleeping better!!!

I am using this lamp differently than most. I have always been very sensitive to sunlight, so I'm not sure why I expected this to be different with this lamp. Using it as instructed gave my instant nausea and headaches. BUT i found a way to use that's perfect. I wanted this because I work from my basement (its only half underground) and in winter, the sun never shines in. I placed this lamp in the basement window. The direct light is blocked by a cabinet, but the indirect light bouncing off the walls and spilling into the room mimics the sun that usually shines into the room during the summer. Since I cannot see the lamp directly, I use the light for a few hours in the morning. I do notice I feel more alert, more quickly in the mornings. I am definitely not receiving the recommended 10,000 lumens, but it still seems to have the effects intended. I probably would select an adjustable brightness model next time since I am light sensitive, but otherwise have no regrets. The light isn't as warm toned as sunlight, but the brightness seems to be what matters for mood and combating mild SAD.

I purchased this light because I live in northeast Ohio, where it is gray, gray, GRAY. From November through March, sunlight is extremely hard to come by, and it definitely does a number on my mental wellness. I suffer from mild SAD (seasonal affective disorder), and the use of my Happy Light nearly every morning, along with daily vitamin D3 supplementation has made a noticeable difference in my moods! The full spectrum is definitely bright, and might take a day or so of use to get used to, but it's very worth it. No matter what style you get, I really don't think you can go wrong, and it can only be beneficial! (And if you really don't notice the benefits? Well, you have an amazing vanity light! hehe) Recommended!

I have general anxiety that comes and goes every day for the better or the worse but all around I felt lately that it was getting worse due to being inside a lot and not seeing sunlight. I decided to give this lamp a try and see if it would make a difference and I notice that when I first tried it I felt a sense of relaxation after I got done using it so I started using it more and more and each time I sit in front of it after a few min I notice my anxiety tends to dip a little.. Give it a try it won't hurt it could be enough to help you feel more comfortable in your skin everyday sadly anxiety is a very deliberating problem for many including myself but this might help make it more manageable which is a big plus for all of us.

I bought this about a month ago and now I know I can get through Winter a bit easier! I’ve noticed that it’s more effective when used for at least 40 minutes. I like to use mine while I crochet.

LOVE the HappyLight Full Size. I have purchased Verilux products for years, and they keep getting better. The Full Size definitely improves my mood (I can feel it immediately), and this newer version has a great design and does not flicker like the older ones sometimes did. I tried the Lumi, but it produced too much glare for me. Verilux cheerfully exchanged the Lumi for the Full Size. Outstanding customer service.

Love my light! Really makes a difference during the darkest time of the year.

So compact but really helpful for the winter (especially now that I'm not going outside as much). So energizing!
