The Varathane arrived quickly and met my expectations.

Great product. I can't speak at the moment to longevity since it's only been down a few weeks but it looks great. The matte finish was so close to natural you could hardly tell it wasn't just natural wood (used on pine floors with a coat of sanding sealer).

Very smooth and easy to apply!

This stuff is amazing. Dries to recoat in about and hour. Very forgiving-I rolled it with a T-bar and got smooth coats every time. Put 6 coats down on cupped hardwoods and they are much improved. It was as easy as waxing a floor.

It was just what I wanted when I ordered it I just wish it came in smaller sizes. I needed about a pint and had to buy two gallons.

Have raw yellow pine floors in my cabin, very dirty so I decided to poly them. The product is quick drying, odorless and easy to apply. Requires at least 3 coats. Hope it holds up, I bought 12 gallons.

Goes on smoothly and evenly. I used a brush. Easy water clean up and best of all it provides a clear hard finish to my wood floor. Love the matte finish. So far so good and because its water-based it shouldn't yellow the way oil-based finishes tend to. Will definitely be purchasing more when I do more floors.

Was able to use a roller and do 1100 sq feet in about 2 hours, did 3 coats like that and looks amazing, water based so it was easier to apply and barely any smell, have seen how it holds up over time but so far so good

great matte finish, I applied it to a panted vinyl floors, and is holding up just great! a few months since we did it and still perfect! I applied 5 coats of it, highly recommended

great product for a natural finish on wood and it does dry super fast. Love the non-yellowing affect. Would recommend 2 - 3 coats. Only drawback is that it has to be re-applied a few years sooner than polyurethane oil-based, and if spilled water sets too long it gets trapped under the coating and blackens.

Easy to apply and a truly matte finish! Will definitely be using this for many more projects.

Not sure why this is not stocked in the store. The cans arrived severely crushed. The product was a perfect match for my white oak matte finished floors. It was easy to apply and cleanup. On of the other reviews said that it was not matte finish. This was not my experience! Very happy with the results!

I used the matte Varathane to seal reclaimed siding I used for wall paneling in my basement. It definitely is flat, which is what I wanted. But it did make the wood some darker, which I knew it would. This was a trade off I was willing to make for being able to seal the wood.

This product is amazing. Disappointed that it doesn't come in single cans (you have to buy a package of two.) also disappointed that this style of varathane doesn't come in matte finish except for in floor finish. I used this on a furniture piece because I wanted a matte sheen. It worked beautifully, despite my hesitation about it being for floors. The piece was already sanded smooth when I applied it. I put 4 coats on, with sanding in between a couple of the coats. I let it off gas in the garage for a week before bringing it in. There was a tiny bit of smell the first day or two inside but it seems to be gone now. I made a rustic cabin bed for my son.

I bought the product despite another reviewer's experience of getting a finish that was more satin than matte. I did this being unable to find other finishes for floors that claim to be matte. It has worked very well for me. I'd definitely call it matte, and alongside another section of floor that is coated with a Varethane satin finish, it shows far less sheen. A very nice look only slightly more reflective than the bare wood. It went on very easily, dries fast, accepts the subsequent coats (Varethane recommends 4) well. It hasn't been on the floor long enough to really evaluate wear, but appears so far on par with the Varethane on the other section. We'll be covering the satin-coated section with this product.

I've always used the Satin Varathane for my projects, and was so excited to see that they finally came out with a Matte product. I purchased the Matte and tried it several times, and it is definitely NOT a matte finish. I could see zero difference between the Satin and the Matte finish. I was really hoping for a true flat/ matte finish and it's just as shiny as the satin.
