Toro makes a 700 lb. boat anchor
Purchased the mower on Christmas Eve and it was delivered on the 26th. I was able to drive it about 50ft. onto my property and pushed it the rest of the way. Home Depot suggested that I drain the gas and change the fuel filter, both of which I did. The plugs have a strong spark and the oil is showing full. Home Depot said my two options are to return it for a refund or call Toro Service. Called Toro Service on Monday the 28th about 8:40am and was told that I had done all the trouble shooting possible. Their suggestion is to take it to Toro Authorized Repair center.. When asked how since it will not fit in a truck, her comment was to call Home Depot, then she (Debbie - Toro rep) hung up. I c

Great first impression.
Looks to be built really well. Comfortable to set on. Steering wheel easier to control than levers. I didn't rate the dependability because I haven't owned it for more than 2 winter months. Would like to review that part after a few months of use. But I can say it feels very solid.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS MOWER!!!
THE MOWER RUNS GREAT AND IS EASY TO USE. THE ONLY PROBLEM IS THAT IT IS POORLY DESIGNED. THE MOWER DECK WILL FALL OFF IF CUTTING AREAS THAT ARE UNEVEN. THE STEERING SYSTEM OFTEN GETS OUT OF SYNC AND WILL PULL ONE SIDE OR THE OTHER WHEN CUTTING. WE BOUGHT THE MOWER IN APRIL 2015. WAS IN THE SHOP BY THE END OF MAY. IT IS DECEMBER NOW AND HOME DEPOT HAS HAD IT IN THE SHOP FOR THE 6TH TIME SINCE AUGUST. OVERALL WE CUT OUR GRASS 6 TIMES WITH THIS MOWER SINCE APRIL. THE REST OF THE TIME IT HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP. TORO WAS NO HELP. THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE WAS NO HELP WHAT SO EVER. HOME DEPOT DID THE RIGHT THING AND REFUNDED OUR MONEY TODAY! THANKS HOME DEPOT FOR STEPPING UP!

Excellent machine
Excellent machine. Slightly larger/heavier, more engine power. Perfect all around machine. Large enough to easily pull a couple of small attachments I have. A spike roller aerator, seeder, but, moreso a Small drag harrow that I use to maintain large gravel driveway...handles that with ease...

Amazing mower
Have been using it for 3 weeks now. Fast start, fast to get engaged. The best part is that it is a ZTR with steering wheel. Pros: - Great on gas - Mulching mode amazing - no clumps - Speed up to 7.5MPH Cons: - same as most ZTR, if you swivel on wet material, it may damage said material. I would definitely recommend.

      Fast and holds well
Only used 4 times now but very comfortable, fast and holds the hills very well. So far I am very impressed. The steering wheel works well. Service based on hours but no hour meter. Zero turn definetly is the way to go.

Manual is lacking details for setup
The pictures are too small to easily make out details and tiny symbols presented without legend to decode incons and images. Set up and configuration with manual and recycler installation manual can be accomplished. Not difficult.

Fun and easy way to mow a yard.
This mower is a blast to "drive". It has cut my mowing time considerably versus my old lawn tractor. The learning curve was pretty short and the controls are easy to use. The quality seems more than adequate for a residential mower. The engine is powerful enough for high thick grass. One issue I've had is because the weight distribution is towards the rear the machine does not do well if the ground is soft or wet. Got it stuck twice and had to use the old lawn tractor to mow in the wet area.

                Love this mower!
This mower is great! Very easy to use, cuts well, especially when mowing on a hill. The one disadvantage of the mower is when making a left turn, I have to back up because a spot of grass was left uncut.

This model does exactly what toro says it will do.
I have cut my grass four times with this mower and it does a great job. I have some sloped ditch banks and it does as is advertised. The seat is very comfortable and and does not hurt my back when I am finished. I have not owned or used the mower long enough to rate dependability. My only complaint of this mower is that it is a little difficult to see the scale that tells you the height position of the deck. As I get more used to the mower i probably want look at the scale anyway. Love the mower and I am going to purchase the rear bag attachment for it soon.

Good but not great, for the money
I like the mower over all but needs to be better for the money. I love the maneuverability and the cut of the grass. I dislike the features for the sake of safety. The need to set or unset two small levers and disable the auto brake to allow one to manually move the mower was thought out but not well. Try to move this levers with a hot engine. The bag kit is very expensive and not very efficient if you need to pickup leaves in the yardI cut my yard at 3.4 to 4" but at that height the bag kit does not pick up well. I suspect that with addition of a mulching kit, another hun and a half this might be more efficient. I still have to use my lawn vacuum to get all the leaves and left over leafs.

Not what its cracked up to be.
We bought one of these in June and it has been in the shop twice for steering issues. The first was literally a week after the in store 30 day trade in warranty ended. When making a "zero turn" the right rear locked itself still and would drag. When it went to the service company they told me it was a factory bolt in the steering that had not been tightened. Fast forward almost two months again making a "zero turn" and the steering begins free spinning as if it stripped. Elevate the mower and steering gear on the rack and pinion is 180 degrees out. Also, I've had problems consistently leaving high spots in the middle of the cutting area to which I have to go back and cut again. Not really "cutting time" if you have to mow the same spot twice. Also, you can only adjust the deck to 4.5 inches high. Not a big deal until you're cresting a hill and it scalps the yard. You cannot "edge" around trees and corners of fences like a lever driven ztr mower. I will say it has good power but my suggestion is save the extra couple of hundred bucks and take the time to learn to drive a real ztr mower and avoid this steering wheel garbage.

Learning to drive a Timecutter machine can take a short time to perfect in the beginning, but should be fairly easy after a few mows. You may want to have the machine inspected by a dealer to ensure it is operating correctly. An authorized dealer can be found at www.toro.com/dealer. Toro

                      Wow...impressive!
Went from taking over 2 hours to cut my 1 & 3/4 acre area to just about 50 minutes. I was really surprised that it took the slopes far better than expected. It's so easy to use that now my wife wants to try it!

                        Great zero turn mower
I purchased this model because I have a hilly lot. And I have to make some tight turns. This mower does both well. The big motor pushes the mower along at a pretty good clip. The speed really helps out with the lower, flat part of the yard.

                          I really like this mower.
Had a 42" Cub Cadet before but it reached the end of its life so I wanted to upgrade to something a little bigger at 50" and Zero Turn. I understand the Zero Turn with the steering wheel has a little more versatility and in a pinch, I felt my wife could operate with little instruction as opposed to the other style ZTR. I've used it 7 times for about 7 hours now and really love it. This thing is so fast that I get grass in my eye from the previous row I've cut because I'm coming back into what's already been cut if that makes sense. I've cut down from 90 minutes of cutting/bagging to 37 minutes straight cutting. Even though I don't bag, there are NO CLUMPS of grass leftover. The first mower I picked up had an issue with the break and with a little effort, they brought me a new one. HD employees were nice and professional. SO FAR SO GOOD.

                          Outstanding customer support
This is a bad to good story. The first unit was bad from the start. The repair tech. from the store (Rick) came out and analyzed the unit and found it to be totally unsafe and recommended it be returned. Brandon Hance, pro department supervisor, personally took it from there and ensured that a timely and thoroughly tested machine was delivered and the old one picked up. The new machine is working perfectly and I comment Rick and Brandon for their commitment to total customer service & satisfaction. They truly represent the highest of qualities that Home Depot stands for. and have ensured that I remain a totally loyal customer going forward.

Excellent Mower, very good , even cut.
The unit was delivered on the day scheduled, assembled and ready to cut grass. With a little review of the manual, I was ready to cut. I mow about 3 acres, and usually takes 3.25 hours. With this unit I now mow the same area in less than 2 hrs. I have an open grass covered ditch which has a +15 degrees bank that I am able to cut with no problem steering through. Love this unit. It sits lower than the old garden tractor that I used, and while it was a 54" deck, the fact that this Toro unit is 50" , still my mowing time was cut significantly. Good Job Toro.!!

                          Great mower
I had a high dollar mower that never met my expectations ( left ridges and laid down the grass instead of lifting the grass). and this mower gives an excellent c cut and is a lot faster, It has cut my mowing time in half. Has a switch for reverse mowing.

                            Outstanding Mower
I simply cannot say enough about this mower. After years of wrestling a standard zero turn on my sloped yard, I decided to upgrade to the Toro zero turn with steering wheel. Truly like night and day! I now have complete control over the mower regardless of the slope. I keep thinking, what took me so long? It is actually fun to mow the yard again...much like racing a go-cart around the yard! I went from a 18hp on the previous mower to the 24.5hp on the Toro. What a difference! No bog and considerable improved difference in cut, mowing speed and clipping dispersion. I shaved 15 minutes off my mowing time (1/2 acre). I could go on and on...go ahead and quit lurking in forums, second guessing, and doing research. Sell or get rid of your old zero turn mower that you are struggling on hillsides with. This is the one.

This is a beast on hills
I have a sw4200 and it is a beast on my hill. I tried a toro with the two bars. It would not cut my hill. Toro let me exchange my mower for the one with a steering wheel and it cuts my hill like a champ. Now I dont mind mowing the grass. I would recommend this mower to everybody!
