At first thought this unit was a little on the pricey side; however the overall dimensions best fit my installation requirements. Originally order On-Line and shipped to Home Depot, items was delivered two days early a plus, packaging was opened thinking Home Depot had inspected for damage, however later discovered unit hand been damaged in transit and damaged wasn’t discovered until the day of installation. (1st setback) Contacted Home Depot and needed to return unit to store and reordered a 2nd unit which I had shipped directly to my resident. Took seven days to arrive. Believe it or not replacement was also damaged in transit and returned and ordered yet once again. Having to wait another seven days for delivery. The third unit was delivered with damaged packaging however unit was not. It was finally time to install, I thought. I assumed kit came with all required adhesive based on on-line product review. Kit only included matching color caulk. After researching Internet, ordered Red Devil construction grade adhesive. It was finally time to install, based on other on-line reviews I took my time and found install to go well with no major setbacks; instructions I felt were easy to follow. When installing corner panels I had to make a management decision on which end was the top? Panels could be better marked. Having double backed adhesive foam tape to assist in installation, I wondered if temporary bracing was still required? Contacted Swan and was informed it was. Other than going without a shower for more the three weeks my family and I are extremely happy with the overall quality of this product and my installation. I would highly recommended Swan find a better solution for packing when shipping cross-country. FYI Home Depot was very helpful and sympathetic with all my frustrations with the shipping company. I hate to admit it, product was well worth waiting for and I would recommend this product to a friend or family member. See attached photos

I am purchasing my second one of these surrounds. They are excellent quality and very easy to install. The composite material is much more sturdy than the units made from acrylic or pvc. When installed, it is a beautiful unit and is easy to clean.

I may update this review with a higher star rating and recommendation at a later time, once I get this thing installed. But for now, let me warn those buying this to check *everything* when you get the box. I ordered this online, for delivery to my local Home Depot. It turned up after ~10 days, and I went to store to pick it up. The box had a large hole in the side (forklift damage?), and clearly shattered panels inside. I would have thought this would be noticed before calling me to pick it up. Anyway, reordered immediately, and waited another ~week for delivery. This time, no obvious damage, took it home and opened to inspect contents, and discovered that the apron strips were missing. Back to Home Depot, who told me I had to contact Swanstone, who then sent me the strips separately (another week). When I got to test fitting before installation, I then noticed that the back panel was a different color (bisque) to all the other panels (white, which was what I had ordered). This wasn't obvious until they were side by side under the same lighting. Contact Swanstone, have to go back to Home Depot for return and reorder... Currently waiting for the 4th time for a new kit to turn up. On the plus side, Home Depot have been very good throughout this process, and I don't blame them for any of the errors after the initial shipping damage (all of the other mistakes I lay at failures in packaging QC at Swanstone). I think this will be a good product once I get everything installed, and as I said I will update this review once that is done, I just wish it hadn't cost me as much time and inconvenience.

This tub surround is the second one I've received. The first one arrived with a hole in the back panel and one end panel cracked. The replacement came with a glob of extra material on the back panel. Looks awful. Quality control anyone?

My house was built in 1965 and had the original tile work in both bathrooms- tile on mesh on sheetrock so the first order of business was knocking this all down. I decided to keep the original cast iron/porcelin tub because it was still in very good shape, just not shiny, and frankly plastic in a tub isn't long term enough for me. Put up .42" hardiebacker with cement board screws and discovered the tub and walls weren't square to each other. Notes from that: (1) paint stir sticks make a great fur strip for bringing the hardibacker flush to the surrounding sheetrock (tape and float with polymer thinset, then sand flat), (2) square up the hardibacker to the walls, not the tub, (3) trim the bottom edges of the Swanstone surround to align the top of all pieces to the same elevation. I did some reading on tile and DIY forums and went ahead and gave the hardie backer a primer coat, then supplemented the tape on the surround pieces with Maxgrip, not the Maxbound 250 included; I used the maxbound later as the caulk. I put extra 1" dabs of Maxgrip on the back of the surround pieces. The bracing may not be strictly necessary if all your backer boards are flat, but I did it anyway - long wall first, then the two end pieces. We had just had Repipe come in and do the house with Pex and at the same time had them convert the three handle to a modern valve (Moen) and decided this would be a good time to tear out the old tile and put up the new surrounds because they wouldn't be stained with rust AND since I had the back bath tubs wall out the Repipe guys had an easy time changing out that valve and shower plumbing. The new surround looks great and my wife wants me to do the front bathroom next. For both surrounds I'm coming back in with 2x6 bullnose tile as the trim to segue into the existing tile.

Ordered product online and picked up at store, arrived several days earlier than told, which was great. Walls were thicker than expected and nice tile texture. Installation was easy, required 4 tubes of adhesive and bracing. Once completed, it looks great.

My contractor did not like the fact that the product did not include printed directions. He had to stop working and look up the installation directions on his phone. Also there was a problem with getting the "tile" lines to match up perfectly. Other than that, the product seems to be pretty well made and it is nice looking.

My handyman had no problem putting it up.

Surround is great, looks really good and installation was pretty easy just make sure it's in position before you put in place the adhesive really works well. Cut it out for a window with no problem. The surround is heavy and very durable nothing cheap about it and it looks beautiful. Read the instructions a lot of info contained that you will need. Purchased firring strips to hold panels in place while the adhesive set up this is explained in the instructions.

overall--was what I wanted--a little confusion finding it when it came to the store--but 20 mins later I was on my way----didn't notice at store inspection, but there was a crack on a corner piece--- fortunately it was a part I was going to cut off so it worked out if you order this--send it to a store and open it up all the way!

Very thick heavy pieces that will never break. Nice quality item that is much better than those thin pieces that are cheaper. You get what you pay for. This tub wall unit is adjustable to fit about anything. Only thing you have to watch for is that you don't get the left and right panels mixed up like I did. There is a difference between the 2 side pieces. It was not very clear but after pulling them back down, they did have a sharpie scribble on the back of "L.H" and "R.H". They need make this clear in the installation manual. It was a $225 mistake for me to get a new right side panel!

It would rate more stars if the end pieces were not bowed out from edge to edge. This made installation problematic. After appling the adhesive and mounting to the wall I followed directions and braced both end pieces with 3x1 wood pieces and left for 24 hrs. Everything looked good when I removed the braces so I chaulked all the edges. Went back 3 days later and both ends had come unglued in the middle but were still attached on the edges. I'm hoping that the edges hold firmly as I would not want to do this again. The end result looks good and I am happy with it if it doesn't fall off the wall.

We are very satisfied with our new surround. It looks great and is easy to care for. We paid more but it was worth it.
