Great auger. Good variable speed.

Surprising power considering the size and price. It has it’s limitations but so far it has exceeded my expectations.

Work really good makes job a lot easy.

There are only 3 parts to this auger... the power head, the auger screw, and the fishtail bit. The fishtail bit was not in the box....I guess the person packing the box thought 2 out of 3 wasn’t too bad but it made the auger unusable. Had to return it and order a replacement. Now have to wait another 3 weeks for delivery. Other than the missing part the unit looked like it was well built....time will tell after I get my replacement.

Broke on the first hole.

I bought an auger, brought it home and could not get it to start. I exchanged it for another auger. I got that one started but turned it off after boring a couple of holes, but then could not get it to start again. I’m not a stranger to small engines. I don’t have any problem with my chainsaws, lawnmowers or motorcycles. THIS IS VERY FRUSTRATING!

Would not start. Definitely not tested.

Hit a rock, broke a bone in my hand. Could have been worse. Don't buy, don't use.

No problems assembleing the augar and it was easy to use. Our soil is a clay like material and the augar ate right through it.

This is a power full auger.....it cut through the rocky clay soil I had....cut small roots bout the size of your thumb with ease.....dug 12 holes quickly

It drilled 9 holes and it is dead!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so disappointed, I went through all reviews online to get this brand. So that tells the online reviews and videos are fake which are made by the manufactures. I dont have time to do projects and thought this machine will save time digging. I am so frustrated with this Southland Auger machine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I WONT RECOMMEND THIS TO ANYONE!!!!!! I am going to return this!!!!!!!!!!

Easy to put together, very sturdy machine. Adding the right wrenches to assemble was a very nice touch along with the oil gas additive for a 2 in 1.There are warning stickers all over it that tell you to put an additional additive for the gasoline or it will turn corrosive and ruin the engine. It is not on the box, needed to be bought separately and the web site never mentions you need this item to operate the machine or you void the warranty. Now I have to wait additional time till it arrives to use the auger. Disappointing as there is only one Home Depot on the Michigan UP and it is 200 miles to drive to. So far have not been able to use it or risk voiding warranty!

This drill was easy to assemble and use.

This auger can only be used with the 8" bit that is included. Regardless of what others are saying in the questions and answers section. The manufacturer does not recommend an adaptor or have any other bits that fit. So if you want this to do anything other than drill 8" holes, you are out of luck.

Earth Auger arrived two (2) days early! Will have fence posts installed this weekend before December 1, 2018. Check YOUTUBE for Southland video explaing how to assemble and use safely. NOTE: you can purchase 50:1 premixed fuel at the same time from HD (which IS NOT referenced online!) NAME: TRU Advantage.
