I have had great results with Rust-Oleum paint, so when my outdoor metal furniture needed a new paint job, I looked to Rust-Oleum. I used their spray paint on the furniture about five years ago, but was looking for a more durable finish, so I got this paint. Because the furniture was a smooth metal, I bought a new paint brush for the project so it would go on smooth. Working in the shade (can't use the paint on hot furniture), I did one of the outdoor foot stools. I then moved it aside and started to work on a chair and the first brush stroke there were little 'things' in the paint. Huh? I immediately wiped the paint off and could actually feel the bumps. I looked in the paint can and there were tiny things in the paint! I moved my foot stool in the sun and lo and behold, little bumps. ARGH! Now I have to sand the foot stool and repaint. I have never had this happen before with Rus-Oleum paint, so maybe I got a bad batch? Or maybe an old batch? The one positive is the paint is a really rich looking black with the slightest undertone of dark blue. I am going to get the spray paint in this color to finish the job.

I painted an outdoor aluminum storm door frame, interior door jams, and exterior wooden window frames with Rust-Oleum Ultra Cover in very pretty Blossom White. This crisp, clean Blossom White is exactly what my house needed. Rust-Oleum's coverage over much darker colors of paint is remarkable. There were leftover smudges on the window frame in both red and beige that needed fixing and the aluminum storm door really needed to be brightened and refreshed. The old paint on the door jams had worn off and was scratched. It just appeared neglected and rundown. Everything looks so amazing now, though. From the street view, the house now has curb appeal with a pop of fresh white paint. Also, the Rust-Oleum filled and covered thumb tack holes left behind from holiday decorating. The paint is a very smart, all-purpose, versatile paint for indoors or outdoors on a variety of surfaces. It brushed on smoothly and evenly.

The name "Rust Oleum" says quality. I don't thing I personally have used anything else for my outdoor painting needs and The Home Depot offers a wide selection of colors and finishes. When painting metal Rust Oleum brand will protect it from the elements and prohibit rust for years to come. The texture is thick and applies evenly. A few helpful tips for a professional job: 1. Always sand, steel wool or wire brush any old paint chips or rust away as much as possible. 2. Clean the surface with alcohol. Let dry. Shake the paint well. 3. On unpainted surfaces one needs to apply a primer for better paint adhesion. 4. Always allow recommended drying time for second coats. This is a brand we all know and trust. I highly recommend this product.

This paint provides adhesion found only is spray acrylic cans. This stuff is great! My original doors in my house were made of fiberglass or some synthetic material that required 5 coats of paint - even with a primer - to mostly hold the color I wanted the doors to be. Imaging being able to apply a non-acrylic paint in one coat (OK some doors took two) in less time than it would take to pop the door off spray paint it (at least twice) and reattach. Clean-up is a snap.

Stay away from this paint. I should have checked the reviews before buying but it was recommended by a Home Depot associate. It's super thin and as others stated it lifts as you're brushing. In addition, since it's so thin it dries very fast and if you just ever so slightly brush over a spot you just painted a minute before, it leaves a dull spot in the final finish. In addition, coverage is horrible. Normally this isn't a big problem and just requires more coats. But after letting it cure for 24 hours, I went back to add another coat and it left dull spots where it touched other areas that didn't need additional coverage. Wish I could return this as it's a waste of money. Do yourself a favor and spend the extra money to get a higher quality paint.

The paint was easy to use and looks great. I needed two coats but was painting round surfaces and hard to reach places, I don't think I would have needed two coats if I was painting a more flat surface. The paint does appear to be navy blue in the can and until it dries, but once it dries it's a beautiful black!

It's not bad but it goes on almost like a stain. 2-3 coats are needed for the look I wanted.

Cheers. I am writing in regards to the Rust-Oleum Painter's Touch 32 oz. Ultra Cover Gloss Hunter Green General Purpose Paint I purchased at Home Depot. First, the Associate was extremely nice and helpful, taking me directly to what I wanted. He ensured the paint was properly shaken, then provided a can opener and stir stick. The price was nice as well, with quick checkout. Not to mention Home Depot supports our retired military with a 10 % discount every day!!! As a veteran, I deeply appreciate that. Now, I admit I am a sloppy painter, certainly no expert. But that paint not only went on smooth, it covered in one coat, to include the mess of yellow paint drips I left behind from previous painting. I hope the pictures can show how nice this Hunter Green helps set off the yellow and white. Also, when I used it on my home made porch, it covered the previous paint, once again in one easy coat. It goes hand in hand with the Porch And Patio brown paint I also bought at Home Depot. It gives it that “State Park” feel I was after. I am well pleased and satisfied, and that is what keeps me going back to Home Depot. Thank you!!!

I was very disappointed in the color. It is definitely bronze, not worn copper. And I needed two coats to cover a white steel door. I'm very glad a painted a small sample first.

This primer covers very well. You will need 2 coats on rusty metal.

This is the first time my wife and I ever used the Rust-Oleum "Ultra Cover." The results were excellent and exceeded our expectations. We used it to paint a very old factory green finished two chair "bar height" patio set. I cut the height of the table and chairs to "normal height" using my hand held electric tools. Before painting we machine (orbital sander) sanded the tubes and structure with 150 grit wet/dry sandpaper to, in some places, the base metal. We eliminated the oxidation (aluminum) and rust (steel) carefully so that the paint would take to the surface. We applied the paint using a 1/4" nap roller so as to provide a pebbly like finish. Places where the roller couldn't reach we used a professional painters 1" wide brush that doesn't loose bristles. A second coat after 6 hours provided an excellent, durable finish. We reupholstered the chairs with "Sunbrella" fabric following our patio's color palette. Note of Caution - Do not pour out more paint than you can use in fifteen minutes or the consistency will begin to thicken and ruin your application. Always insure that the paint is "fresh" every time you apply it.

Goes on easy. Seems to protect the painted board in weather. Cleans up great...no problem reusing the paintbrushes after cleaning.

This paint works very well. Just make sure that you have sanded your furniture first.

Anyone writing anything less than a five-star review for this paint either does not know how to paint, or specifically, use this type of paint. I used my first quart when I re-finished the shelves and insides of my built-in media cabinet (in my Home Theater). It was the closest thing to Muralo, which I can no longer find in this area. It's thick and somewhat foamy, and yes, dries fairly quickly.. it's the design of the paint. Used properly, it will yield a smooth, brush mark-free finish. Proper technique includes using a quality, medium stiff brush with beveled edges. Load the brush well ( do not take off excess on the side of the can like so many people do!). Brush your first line, and back-brush it no more than once. Reload your brush and repeat, always brushing into the wet paint. DO NOT OVERWORK the Paint! One or two brush strokes, in the same direction now. Yes, you will be tempted to revert to your old ways, and add more brush strokes... resist, and you will be quite pleased with the finish from this fine paint.

I purchased 11 different color paints for the making of a Barn Quilt. Excellent quality, the paints went on easily and have a smooth appearance. Would certainly recommend this product.

Metallic silver as it is! Used it for hardware in my buffet table, candle holder and lamp shade.

I used this product to paint my builder grade pine steps for my finished basement project. I wanted the look of dark wood but didn't want to go through the hassle of trying to stain the light colored pine stairs to a dark espresso color. I sanded the steps down, used a wood primer, and then two coats of this paint on the stair treads. This paint gave me exactly the look and finish I was looking for. I am going to be using a stair runner up the middle of the steps that will reduce wear on the surface. I also used this paint to paint the back of my basement bar to match my espresso cabinets that I bought. The color match isn't perfect but it is pretty close. Again, I used a wood primer first and two coats of this paint. The color is a nice, dark, rich espresso color. I am really impressed with this product, especially for the price!

The color was perfect, covered colored wood great with one coat. Went on easy, easy clean up!!

I used this to paint a shady side of a wall-topper panel made with stainless steel corrugated panels. This color matched the neighbor's RV I was trying to hide, and their house trim. Also it will keep the panels cooler. I chose a lighter textured color on our side which faces the sun to dull the shine and absorb the heat. This Bronze is really beautiful and I will be painting some wrought iron garden furniture with it also. It's easy to apply and covers metal on the first coat with just a few touch ups. Very economical.

We recently moved to a new house and it's so good to have family over for a home cooked meal.. I llove my Whirlpool that includes self cleaning and a continue grate. It was difficult to find both of those features at a reasonable price but Home Depot did it again! Also, the delivery and install were great! They accommodated my schedule and they were very nice. I'm very pleased with this purchase!

This Rust-Oleum was perfect for this size job. Great results on the table and chairs and very easy clean-up. This is the second time in one year, that I've used this and will again!

This paint is awesome, I give it five stars. It had excellent coverage over a lighter surface. I would highly recommend this paint for any home improvement project you are thinking about doing. What was painted in the included picture: the bar body, the support beam, and the bar end cap (the bar stool seats were stained with ebony stain and sealed with a semi-gloss clear coat.

Used this on sun faded window frames & they turned out fabulous. I also sprayed it on 2 downspouts that had house paint goofs & they turned out great also. It's an oil paint so expect to get some thinner or mineral spirits for reducing & clean up. I used an HVLP so it really wasn't bad. It brushed well also. It has like a gold metal-flake that shows in the sunlight. I like it & will buy it again. A Qt. goes a long way.
