I thought that my warranty was a Lifetime warranty. My email said 10 years.

I installed an 85g Marathon in my home 3 years ago and after a few months I was sold! I was gone for 10 days and my water heater was switched off and I came home to residual hot water still in the tank! I had switched from gas to electric and have never looked back. Last year I installed a 50g at my mountain cabin! Nothing but thrilled with it! I've yet to run out of hot water no matter how many showers are taken! I cannot say enough good about the Marathon water heater.

Our Rheem Marathon 50 gallon Short Electric Water Heater was easily installed due to its short height and light weight. It is very stable due to its larger diameter. I used 3/4" CPVC with bite-type fittings. It replaced a gas water heater that was vented up an unlined brick chimney and causing condensation problems. I was able to install it very close to the point of usage in our basement of our 1811 house because of the shorter height. It seems to have very little heat loss even at the metal fittings.

we purchased the W/H for the tank life and high energy rating. Although the Vacuum Relief Valve has failed and finding parts is very difficult.

We own three condo units on floors 4, 6, and 8 that have Marathon rust proof tanks, to prevent water leakage below.

I have owned my home for over ten years now, Marathon water heater was there when purchased. To say we have a high iron content is not enough as it will turn brown in under 20 minutes if not softened. I have no smell in the water and have yet to run out of hot water with taking 3 back to back to back showers every morning between myself, wife and daughter " Which uses way to much hot water".. I love it and would recommend to anyone, I have installed hundreds and hundreds of water heaters and have yet to replace a Marathon.

In April of 2007, I installed two of these units in parallel. I thought they were 85 gallons, but they might be 100. I have a heavy iron content in my water, which damaged my old water heaters and gave off that sulfur smell. In the 10 years, I have had these I have had no problems, no smell and no debris comes out when I flush them once a year. I was thinking of replacing the heating elements and I came across these reviews. I did not see anyone that has had them very long, so I thought someone could benefit from my review.

Wanted a water heater with a long warranty. This one has that and very good reviews. Recommended by company that installed our Rheem gas furnace. Only had it for a month but so far performance is excellent.

I have only had the unit installed now for about two weeks so longevity and durability of the heating elements is still unknown. My only comment so far is that the factory settings are too high. We have our five year old grandson at the house quite often and have had to turn the settings down to the minimum in order to not have the water to hot.

I bought it a month ago... Nothing to say, time will tell i think.

The product is difficult to buy on your own in Montreal area but you can get it from a professional installer. Easy to install, light to lift.

I have had my hot water heater for 2yrs and the heating element with out. It was difficult to find a contracted dealer who will work on it then you have to wait on Rheem to ship the part. The part is covered but not the labor so reality is you do not have a full warranty. Would not recommend Rheem

The water heater was installed nearly 36 hours ago and you ask me to review and rate this heater. I can honestly say no leaks or warranty problems yet.

Seems to work fine. Unclear just how the warranty works and for how long. Do I have protection plus or what?

I am so happy and eager to show off to my visitors. All are surprised by the shape of this water heater.

Our previous one blew out after only 10 years so had to replace it with a like product.

Our plumber recommended this water tank to us and we are glad that we listened. We had an old tank break on us years ago and the one that was installed after that was already starting to show wear and tear as it was over 10 years old. Our plumber has never known a Marathon tank to fail and said that it will give us peace of mind. We have faith in our plumber, and now we have faith in our water tank!

We have this hot water heater in our new house but have only been living in our new home for a week. Have LOVED it this far but feel we need more time to fully review

This tank is durable and long-lasting . No leaks means no mess unlike metal tanks.

I got this a month ago so as not have to use the furnace to heat hot water for showers and the like. Best upgrade for the house I ever done. No more of the furnace cutting in to heat water in mid summer. Did my research and the extra costs for this hot water over one that you purchase at the local hardware is well worth it. A durable plastic tank and extra insulation will have this water heater outlasting the cheaper models by years. Well worth the coin.

I've been in my new house for 4 years. No problems until the past few days. Unit stopped heating.

This make has a good dozen or more features that others do NOT have to the best of my knowledge. Any non-ferrous water heater is top dog ;--- end of story. It's thermostats are easily accessible and adjustable as are the wiring hook-up,tubing connectors,and exchangeability of the elements. Tank outer shell is only a few degrees warmer than ambient so that says the R-factor of the 2 inches or so of insulation is effective. Optically, it has pleasing aesthetics. Although somewhat pricey you know the old adage --- you get what you pay for ! Too bad the distributor does not have the other variants of this make on hand (as I was led to believe) but as is often the case I needed it yesterday since it was urgent to have domestic hot water perhaps especially so during cold periods (-15oc) ! I really like the durability and size of this tank!

This tank cannot leak and is rated extremely high for efficiency. A life time warranty means I have no problems ever.
