Did not seem to be the quality I wanted. Table was to loose even tho all bolts were tight. Plastics seem really cheap as well. Never turned it on- just returned it.

I’m very happy with the sander!

This is our second one after 8 years of heavy use when our old one finally died. The only thing they change from the original one we had was the color but everything is the same quality. You always worry newer models will be more plastic and lower quality but what I originally said the only thing changed was color. This is why I bought the exact same one.

Motor was bad on delivery returned

Quick change belt, plenty of power

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this sander to grind feathers and taper arrow shafts and it does that and much more. I do a lot of small crafts like creating knife sheaths and it’s perfect for small projects like that.

It’s a beast — I used it for three hours straight with no problems, and with sanding results that saved me even more time .

I use it to sand down(finishing touches) on knives I make and to smooth out wood for handles... Among other things

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This tool is way more quiet than the one I am replacing (late 90's model from another brand though). I like that it was easy to set up and start using. however, I would change the piece on each side of the belt sander from plastic to another material as it gets scratched very fast. I would also change the design of the mechanism to replace the belt sanding paper as you need to unscrew a screw, lift the arm and then replace the part. As a side comment, the user manual needs some work. The instructions in Spanish have some part written in french.

I bought this because it was on sale for half price. It is pretty whimpy in terms of motor power. It seems to work well for light weight sanding but it is not up to heavier use.

We downsized homes and I had to give up all my stationary shop tools including my belt/disk sander. I needed a sander that I could store on a shelf and bring out when needed. This has met my needs. It is heavy enough to be stable, but is still easy to move from the shelf to the worktable. It had enough power for the projects on which I have used it. The dust collection port worked better than I had expected. The table and miter gauge are the weakest links, but are sufficient for my needs. So overall it has been a great buy for the price.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I do a lot of woodworking on small items that often require significant sanding and many are curved. I purchased this belt / disk sander to reduce the time it takes to smooth the curved surfaces. Although this sander it could not assist in very tight curved surfaces it did exceptionally well on nearly all surfaces saving me a significant amount of time. I purchased this unit because it had an extended warrantee, heavy duty cast iron base and a higher amperage motor. I have only used this sander for several days but I love it. I would recommend this belt/disk sander to anyone looking for a reasonably priced power tool.

So far I have absolutely no regrets on any Ryobi products. They seem to always deliver better than expected.

If you get one first thing you need to do is check the drive belt tension mine was loose and made the belt strip out

Poor quality. Rattles a lot

I have had this approximately 6 monthes, but in that 6 monthes only used it about 10 times. The belt is lower than the metal framing so you can't get a good sanding without "lifting" your piece of wood slightly. The belt kept binding up and stopping as well as making a very loud screeching noise. We had to replace the DRIVE belt (which my husband was surprised had very small teeth) so he said he didn't expect the new drive belts to last long. He was right. Only lasted 10 minutes. Just Don't!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Purchased a month ago to sand and polish slabbed rocks. Works like a charm. Glad to have the belt for rougher sanding, and the plate for finer polishing work. No issues so far, at least 20 hrs run time this month
