This is a review of Home Depot and not the unit itse Like everyone else, I took advantage of the 2000 price drop and bought one of the last remaining units. Mine came assembled and dirty, like it had been sitting outside in the elements. I returned them and was going to try to purchase another one as soon as the refund showed up on my card. It looks like it's not available online anymore because of all these complaints.

Brand new, won’t stay on. I’ve had Ryobi weed eaters prior to this one and they all were wonderful. I just passed them on to my sons. I’m very disappointed in this one. The older models were much better in my opinion. But this new one, tried it for the first time just now and it won’t stay on. It keeps shutting off very very annoying. I will exchanging this and try to get the same one I had before this one.

Very impressed with this 40v trimmer! My normal go to trimmer is a Husqvarna brush cutter so I wasn't expecting to be so pleased with an electric version but the Ryobi is very strong and super quiet! Cuts thick, I mean THICK stuff with ease! Very balanced too with the way it's setup. Highly recommend!!

The trimmer is very easy to use right out of the box. The line extender bump mechanism works great and appears to be easier to refill than my last trimmer.

This trimmer was easy to assemble, lightweight and quiet. I'm pleased with everything except the housing for trimming line is hard to twist open and close. The self-feed on the trimmer needs to be readjusted to make it last longer. I had to return the first two trimmers before I finally got one that I could work work with.

I took at back the next day cause after I set it up and with the Battery on now, it was just too heavy for me to carry around! I went back and got my same RYOBI 4 cycle GAS power one and I'm Happy with it instead.

My mower was delivered 2 weeks ago and I have now used it twice. As others have mentioned my mower appeared to have been sitting out in the weather for some time with evidence of sun damage and grim. It works fine and mows great. So far I am not a fan of the joy stick. I have a Hustler ICE zero turn with dual controls which is much easier to use. The Hustler is much more maneuverable and easier to control. Your right arm gets sore having to make constant corrects to the stick controller. Otherwise the mower works as advertised. I would have preferred an in the box model but I realize there was a price reduction for a reason. These mowers have apparently not sold well at the original price and thus have sat in the weather for a long time. Home Depot might think about covering their display models to protect them from the elements.

This trimmer is heavy even without the 6Ah battery attached. However, it is very powerful and works great if you can handle the weight. I could not. At low and medium speeds, it is quiet. However, if you squeeze the trigger all the way, even at the low-speed setting, it is loud. The trigger is very hard to keep at a consistent speed. I wish it had a notched trigger with 4 different preset speeds. If you have back issues, I can't recommend this trimmer. Otherwise, it's excellent.

After 1 trying it out in my driveway on the day I brought it home and having it slam into park on me, refuse to restart, refuse to move I charged it up fully and now this weekend it won't turn on. $5k display piece!!! Absolute trash product. Based on all the rust and sun fading my, the painters tape on one of the batteries, the two assembly kits (one with painters tape on it) and 3 keys included I'm certain I got a used unit. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This unit is dual speed with long lasting batteries. Quiet operation and easy assembly. Unit is lighter that the gas unit I was using and has plenty of power. Handle position is easily changed to change CG for different size batteries. String replacement is simple.

Packaging good, assembly easy, beautiful new. Not worth full price. Rear tires too small and smooth, slips easily. Downhill is dangerous, slides out of control. Uphill is fine. 1 acre, 1 charge? Doubtful unless flat and smooth. Fast charge is good. Cuts okay. Seat is comfy but still a kidney buster on rough ground. May not be the best choice for my yard but, I'll just have to suck it up and enjoy the ruts!

The Mower is quiet and arrived fully assembled and very dirty. The joystick is tricky but usable. An issue is the 80v battery door won't stay closed. Attempts to reach Ryobi support were frustrating due to a glitchy website and long phone wait times.

Easy to operate and control and has fast re-charge capability.

This review is primarily for Home Depot, not Ryobi or their mower. Purchased this new, received a floor display. Very dirty and dusty, so far it seems to be operating okay. I always worry when a receive a display model. I did not want a used/display item. This is not a cheap purchase and I should have received a brand new item. If I was not in dire need of a mower, I would have refused the delivery and requested a refund. Delivery was rescheduled without speaking to me about the reschedule.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was skeptical of a battery operated power tool, but after my first use, it performed better than any gas powered trimmer I've used over the past 20+ years. I didn't know what to expect by the word "Whisperer," and I found that's an accurate description for this trimmer. Sure, it still makes noise, but there's no more need for ear plugs! Wow! Blown away.

Like some of the other reviews, my mower was not in new condition. I bought the mower online on a sale... What I wasn't told was that these mowers are on sale because of extra inventory from last year. It didn't come in any kind of packaging , the mower was already assembled, and had been stored outside for months. So I called the store it can from as I was instructed. Customer service was very nice , but their hands were tied by corporate policy . All their mowers were in the same condition.

Heavier than expected with a handle that swivels too easily. At the store, they did not have an already put together model or I might've chosen another.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Purchased this when we decided to swap from our gas weedwhacker to an electric one. No more busting our shoulders trying to start the weedwhacker. With 3 different setups for blades it would fit anyone's yard. it is Quiet and lightweight.

The driving back wheels spin too easily making a zero turn on any incline very hard.

Challenging to put the strong guard on. Must use the battery included otherwise the head is at times really heavy and needs the bigger battery to balance it.

I just bought this mower a week ago and it had quite a few issues from home Depot storing it outside; however Ryobi was able to send out a service technician to my house in only one business day after completing the registration. Chuck W. The Field Specialist apart of TTI was absolutely wonderful!! He worked to diagnose my issues took his time to ensure everything operated as intended and took time out to explain to my son what he was doing and why so he could learn. Thank you Chuck and Ryobi!!!

I had to take the first one back because the string mechanism could not be removed. Four Home Depot employees tried and failed. Was offered an exchange, which I accepted. Same problem exists and has been reported by other costomers. So this one is going back as well. Poor design!

Have used Ryobi 40 Volt lawn/garden tools for about a year, weed trimmer, blower, hedge trimmer and chain saw and think their great light weight and powerful.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have not tried the trimmer out yet. My review is about the assembly. The grab handle is challenging to install. I feel the threaded bolt should be longer to ease installation. Make sure you place the handle further down near the pole joint. It will assist with the centre of gravity, and make it easier to control the trim head. It was VERY DIFFICULT to install the Grass Deflector. The 2 holes did not line up with the 2 threaded holes on the aluminum motor mount. I had to drill out the holes on the plastic deflector in order for the 2 screws to start threading in. I work with tools and do a lot of repairs. Installing the Grass Deflector was a huge pain in the butt, but after 45 mins of struggling with it, I got it done. I fired up the trimmer using a charged battery I already have, and it is powerful. The additional cutting head with the orange plastic blades will be great fur cutting large weeds and thistles
