Works good. Used it on 2'x2' Commercial Carpet squares that I put down in a crooked hallway. Ran one straight row up the middle and then cut all the edge pieces. Learned to use a Sheet Rock Knife pressed against the floor instead of Scissors to cut it. Used WD-40 to get all the glue off my scissors! LOL I plan to use it again in a small bedroom.

Works well. Very sticky.
I used this to stick some flexible non-skid rug pad to the underside of 3 hallway runner carpets. Tried a couple of other options before but none of them held up to the family & pet foot traffic. This Roberts Carpet Tape seems to do the trick.

Wow this really works. I had to use it to put down carpet strips for stairs because my little dog was slipping on the vinyl. It was very easy to use and really holds the carpet strips in place. Great product!

I use this product to install indoor/outdoor carpet on our open area wood deck. This tape keeps the carpet in place for the entire 5 year time span before we replace the carpet due to wear. I use this tape to seam the two pieces of carpet together as well as the whole way around all edges of the carpet. The tape is still stuck fast to the wood deck surface when we pull up the old carpet. I don't use any other method to install the carpet.

      Perfection
How this product got any less than 5 stars is amazing. I used two strips on each step to place carpet treads in my recently refinished basement. Easy to use (yeah, sticky-but that’s the point) and these treads are going nowhere. Highly recommend!

Good permanent tape is not recommended with hardwood floor use. The store said, “often bought together” with carpet treads but do not use for that. They do not recommend, per instructions, but i did not check. I am just warning you. It is very sticky and my “treads” will never come up. Great tape BUT be careful what you want to use it for.

This stuff works great for my application. I used it to secure Eco-Foil insulation to my steel workshop beams before I secured it with self tappers. Seals much better the overlapping seems than the tape supplied by eco foil.

        Wow!
This tape is no joke!!! I thought I was dreaming when I was told I could lay vinyl floor with tape. Lol.. I put one piece around each side of my room and bam! The floor isn’t moving!!! This tape is serious! Lol.. make sure your under floor is completely clean! If it’s not sticking it’s probably from not cleaning the surface area. My subfloor is particle board. And I stuck it to that with no problem. Get it right because this stuff is hard to pull back up. Lol

Tape was easy to use and held well on a surface that was not perfect. We used it to carpet a table for a non marking surface to assemble very expensive fixtures. This is the second time we have use this for this purpose and it works very well. The carpet wears out but the tape continues to hold.

My application was not carpeting, but securing heavy shelf liner material to the inside bottom surfaces of kitchen and bathroom cabinets and drawers. For this application, this tape had a good balance of tackiness and bond strength. Before using it, I was a little concerned that the adhesive would be so tacky that upon the slightest contact with liner material it would adhere so strongly that repositioning would be impossible, thus requiring precise alignment before application. Fortunately, this concern was unfounded. The liner was thick enough to be peeled away after application without difficulty. Also, it had a good release layer so the liner came away without tearing. The adhesive was tacky enough that light finger pressure at one point held the liner material strongly enough that it could be smoothed out to the edges but also allowed it to be (carefully) detached and repositioned if necessary. Application of firm pressure produced a strong bond. It should be noted that this is not really a "tape" but a web of adhesive in roll form. This worked to my advantage; the highly elastic adhesive layer conformed to the textured backing of the liner material and cabinet/drawer surfaces better than most tapes would. This is no doubt by design for its intended application with carpet. A side effect of this elasticity was that scissors used to cut it to length quickly gummed up with adhesive and on subsequent use tended to stick to and pull away adhesive from the roll. This buildup wa easily removed with a cloth and a little WD-40, which had the benefit of reducing this problem. NOTE: Although this was a near-ideal product for my off-label application, I cannot predict how well it would work in its intended use with carpet.

Redoing carpet in rental units and speed was a factor. No need to wait for adhesive to tack up....just layout tape pattern then the carpet....cut to size....remove the tape adhesive covering and stick it to the carpet....works for my purpose very well.

Read all before you decide for yourself if you want to buy this product. I used it for some beautiful carpet treads I used for a short stairway. IT MAY HOLD AND HOLD BEAUTIFULLY...SO FAR SO GOOD. But, it us next to impossible to use! !! It sticks to your fingers and pulls the sticky right off of the tape. Worse than that. ..the scissors blades get coated with the sticky goo after every single cut...and you have to become an expert to get the scissors out of the way before it pulls ALL the sticky off. I learned to use A LOT of paint thinner and clean the blades thoroughly AFTER EVERY CUT. A 15 minute job took 90 minutes, and a frustration level off the chart.

Not only does this stuff work to secure linoleum but I used it to secure material to cinder blocks so they would slide, and not scratch my new floor. In the past I've used it to adhere stuff to a wall - HOWEVER, be aware, it does not like to unstick! The wall later needed to be resurfaced - my fault, NOT the tapes - it did what it promised to do, and did it very well!

Used the tape to hold mdf pattern onto wood to be routed. The tape is very sticky and held the pattern in place on unfinished heart pine, a kind of oily wood, without slipping.

I have used this product before. It is easy to handle, tears easily - you do not need to cut it although cutting is cleaner and neater and most importantly, the tape adheres to both the step and the carpet tread.

This product works very well for installing flooring, I used it at work to install some new, fun, interactive flooring. I made 1/4 wood trim around the edges and thought I would have to nail it also but the tape works fine by itself. I've used it for other projects and it's always been easy to use and holds up for a long time.

          Just what we needed
The Home Depot sales person was very helpful in options of installing our new flooring to our vintage travel trailer. We thought messy glue of many types was the only way to go, then found out about the double sided Max grip tape. Made the job fast and has lasted great. Thanks Mark B.

There has to be better carpet tape
I brought this tape because I needed for two different purposes and in both cases the performance was poor. The tape does good for adhering non-slid material to the back of a carpet. It also works good to adhere to pieces of wood together. However, if you are not careful the cheap makeup of the tape can become very messy. The tape is not really a tape at all but a thin reinforcement with a gummy sticky component. If you don't have it correct the first time it is hard to re position your components without having a gummy mess. I would not recommend this product for woodworkers. The gummy mess that is left over will cause a bigger time waste cleaning it off. I would think the same would happen for carpeting laying. Once the carpet is lifted for cleaning the tape would fall apart.

          Great tape!
Was laying a LVT floor. Floor was a floating floor, click lock, which means you have to tap it together. When you tap it, floor wants to move every which way since it floats. Looked into with the manufacturer, and they suggested "their" brand of tape. Roberts is a well known name, and always a good product. Gave this a try and it was my ticket.
