Great box, poor handle
The case itself is awesome and I really like it but the pull out handle is awful as it doesn’t lock. I used a couple hitch clip pins and screws to make my own stops. Not quite as nice as a factory stop but they work.

Can't get a tougher box for the money
This is the first and only Ridgid product I've ever purchased personally so I can't speak for their other offerings but this box is bombproof. I keep about 40 lbs of roadside emergency equipment in mine and it lives in the trunk of my jeep..I had been on the lookout for months for a box narrow enough to fit in the laughably small storage area of my 2 door Wrangler JL and this thing fits perfectly, almost like it was meant for it. Amazing value for money as this thing will more than likely outlive us all. Can't recommend it enough for anyone who needs a tough as nails storage solution for gear; tools etc. Buy it!

If you don’t have any of these Ridgid mobile boxes, then first off, they are useful as not only boxes but also stepstools for the vertically challenged. Unlike many toolboxes, these are rigid enough to stand on. The wheels and handle make them very easy to move, even when they’re loaded full with heavy tools and batteries. So overall, I’d recommend any of the Ridgid toolboxes. This box is a bit wider than other boxes, however, which may be great if you want more space. Also, the wheels are smaller than on some of the smaller, older Ridgid boxes. All in all, it’s a great box. See my photos for a side-by-side comparison of the new box (the wider one, with a handle on the side) versus the older boxes (the bottom one has a handle on the top/rear, and all boxes are the same width).

This sturdy tool box can handle quite a load of tools. The interior tray slides to either side and will hold small tools or parts. There are multiple handles depending on your needs, flip up and pull out. The built in wheels work well with the extendable handle making toting it much easier. The two upper handles extend out and work well when lifting the fully loaded box.

      Real Nass Like!
The stores near me were out of stock so I used the pick up instore option to hold onto one for me at another store about 60 miles from me, it was worth it. I've had this box for about a week so far and it carries all my power tools real nice. It's mobility definitely stands out, I don't like to leave my power tools in the car and bringing them in the house is a lot easier with this box it saves my back from all that weight it's carrying too.

Durable toolbox that holds plenty of tools and is easy to transport around the jobsite or home. I often work on our vehicles under our carport and use this to load up the tools I need from my roll on tool chests in the detached garage/workshop. The Rigid rolling toolbox has plenty of space (see the pic attached to this review of what it currently has in it with room to spare) and there are multiple single and dual carrying handles depending on the weight of what you have stored inside it (it holds up to 100 lbs). The interior measures 25” long, 10.25” deep and 9.5” high. As a Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) volunteer, I think I will get a second one of these so I can create a ‘go box’ of important tools and other items that I need to take along to activations like brush fire salvage. The ground between our garage and the car port is rough with lots of rocks and I had no trouble pulling the tool chest over this uneven dirt without the 4” wheels binding up. The telescopic handle comes out easily and doesn’t lock in the extended position, which should help it last a little longer. I also like the removable tray as I find it very useful to hold the smaller tools (screwdrivers, knives, 3/8” socket extensions etc.) so you don’t have to root around in the larger items in the base to locate the smaller items. The lid has a dust and water seal and the locks have padlock eyes so you can keep them secure. The box is also compatible with other Rigid brand storage boxes and organizers so you can create a stack of boxes on top of this one with different tools or parts in them. The tool chest is made in Israel and comes with a 90 day return warranty.

This mobile job box is very convenient and has lots of room. I'm very meticulous about how I pack my tool's and I still managed to fit my primary tool's.

Ridgid 28 Inch Rolling tool Box with 22 Inch Tool System Attachability Ridgid has definitively hit a home run with this new 28" rolling toolbox. It not only is on wheels but it works with the existing Ridgid 22" toolbox system. By putting the wheels on one end and including an extension handle, just like the rolling suitcases, Ridgid was able to include locking arms on the top of the box. These lock the 22" boxes solidly to the top of this case. You now not only can roll those longer tools to the jobsite, but you can add the 22" locking boxes or crates you currently have, with just one trip to the job!

This is a big sturdy toolbox, molded from what appears to be glass-reinforced plastic. Everything on it is is heavy-duty, from the handles to the wheels. This makes it not only an excellent toolbox, but it also occurs to me that with the addition of some foam padding inside, it would make a good flight case for cameras and video equipment, or anything else you would want to protect from baggage handling. If you know the price of those cases, substituting a toolbox is far more economical, and the wheels and handle would be very useful for traveling. The lid also has a seal around the edge. The interior is one big space with no compartments or internal ribbing.

Due to the nature of some of my job sites I can't always pull my truck right up to what needs to be repaired. Having an option to roll my tools there instead of carrying them makes my day a little nicer. I have a giant rolling box but sometimes I need a few tools and the repair parts so I started keeping this in the back of my truck. I grab what I need load the box and off I go. One nice feature is the tray inside fits in either side and doesn't slide back and forth. There are also add on boxed if you want to expand the system of have an assortment of smaller items.

I was looking for a effective way to transport my tools when working on projects and needed to take them away from my home. This is a very nice well-built and solid mobile toolbox. It is made of plastic but it is very thick rigid and well constructed. It has nice large wheels and handles along with class that secure the lid tightly. It has handles on the side for easy lifting as well as a slide out arm which helps when you are rolling the tools from place to place. It does have one half tray also for smaller tools. Everything is basically loose inside this toolbox so I find it useful for moving my power tools and batteries in one unit but with no easy way to secure smaller hand tools there is a lot of movement inside of the toolbox. I am very pleased because it does fit the criteria that I was looking for for a strong Large mobile toolbox. Very happy with this unit.

I wish I had 10 of these boxes. They are tough, versatile and have a flexible seal around the lid. When the lid is latched, the seal protects the contents from dust and moisture. Even when full, the box's size makes it easy to pick up and throw into the back of my pickup. The wheels are kind of small but work well on hard surfaces. The extended handle works just like the handles that are built into luggage you pull around the airport. When you are finished with box, everything folds or pushes into recessed cavities. That makes the box easy to store away or transport.

I have always wanted a job box to store my tools and to take them to the job site. This particular one is just about ideal. It is very durable and well made and has plenty of room to carry a lot of tools and accessories. If you want to separate things out, it comes with a handy tray. If you don't want to use the tray, you can just leave it behind. The large wheels and telescopic handle make it super easy to roll around. The lip of the box also has a nice, orange water and dust seal to keep the elements out. The latches are designed to handle a small padlock in case you want to lock the box. The only minor complaint is that the box is somewhat on the heavy side - about 13 lbs. Depending on what kind of tools and accessories you want to take with you, it could get quite heavy. The wheels and handle make it easy to move from spot to spot, though, so the only burdensome part is lifting the box into and out of the car or truck. Other than that, it fits my needs perfectly. I own other Ridgid products and they have all held up well, so I can definitely recommend them.

This 28" mobile toolbox is great. It is made of a high impact resin and has a very durable construction. It can hold up to a 100 lb load. It has a telescopic handle and 4 inch all terrain wheels which make this the perfect solution for transporting my ridgid power tool set and accessories. This is just the tool box and removable tray, my tools were sold separately. It has a water and dust proof seal to protect your tools from rain and dirt. It has 2 heavy duty latches with padlock eye holes to add some extra security. This toolbox has a portable tray great for smaller tools or accessories. This tool box is part of the ridgid professional tool storage system. There are hundreds of configurations you can make with the (sold separately) stackable toolcase, organizer, toolbox, crate, and cold box. This mobile toolbox or the ridgid cart make great bases for your storage configuration needs with telescoping handles and wheels. This tool box is made in Israel and has a full lifetime warranty. The telescopic handle has a nice soft foam grip. The main handle is coated in rubber. Weather you grab this by the main handle or telescopic handle you will have a comfortable grip. I am very happy with this tool box and will be adding some of the compatible tool storage systems. I have a 5 peice power tool set, 2 batteries, and a charger in my toolbox and still have plenty of room to spare. If you do alot of walking with your tool bag it can get heavy, I suggest you invest in this mobile toolbox or the ridgid cart. Your arms will thank me later.

I have been looking around for a nice mobile job box with wheels and came upon this nice 28-inch one by Rigid. It has an extension handle that slides out and makes it ideal to wheel around to where you want to go with it. It is expandable where you can acquire additional boxes that go on top of this one so you can take all of them at one time to your job site destination. The lid latches have provisions for locks to help keep you tools and other contents safe from unwanted access. The lid has a seal which makes it waterproof to keep the contents dry when closed and latched.

The RIDGID mobile toolbox is a ultra sturdy, dust proof and water resistant storage solution for tools and equipment that you need to protect. At 28" wide this toolbox holds a lot of stuff! The non-marring wheels are tough enough for any terrain. The handle is long enough and designed to give you rock steady control when pulling the box around. There is a lift out tote that locks onto the sides and won't slide around when the lid is closed. The water and dust seal is 1/4' and will keep the elements away from your tools. RIDGID put a lot of time and engineering into this toolbox. It is really stout. You can attach any of the RIDGID professional storage system tool boxes to this one to make a single unit that can be pulled around the shop or job site. Other items of note, The latches are metal and have a metal lock hasp, not plastic here. The bails that lock the accessory boxes to the main box are also metal and stow away flat against the lid. The handle has been designed to pull out easily and store quickly, yet it has a pair of pins that prevent the handle from collapsing when you push the toolbox around. Bottom line: If you need a very well built mobile toolbox grab one of these RIDGID 28" toolboxes. Thanks for reading my review!

Light, easy to use, and like the brand it is rigid! Much lighter than I expected considering how sturdy and well built this is; cheap plastic it is not! It just became my new track go to tool box; can fit a bunch of stuff and still have room left over. The cover has a nice tight solid seal all the way around, no worries about the elements. The wheels work great, the carry handles are intuitive in design and use and if it ever becomes not enough Ridgid has a line of boxes that stack well and work with each other. If there is a draw back, it would be that the internal tray could be a little better, considering the quality of the box overall, a nice internal carry tool case would have been better than the tray. But you can’t deny the quality of the box overall!

This is a great mobile toolbox to own and i think its designed well too. I like that it has 3 different handles enabling me to transport it easier. It has the standard single handle at the center top when its not too heavy for me, when it does get too heavy it has handles at either end of the toolbox and also it has a telescoping handle so i can wheel this along like luggage! It has bright orange rubber edging that is water tight. The interior lift out tray is deep so i can throw things like a tape measurer pens knives etc in there. The latches on this toolbox are metal and im able to padlock it as well to keep my tools secure. This is so durable i have even rested on it cos its that sturdy. The only thing id improve on is it having a outside compartment for small things like screws

This is the perfect solution for me. I am a woodworker and work out of my shop most of the time. I don't often travel with tools. I want something exactly like this. Very flexible as far as what I can put in it as that will vary depending on what I am doing. There's no specialized storage compartments here. I also don't want to pay a lot of money for a systainer/pack out type solution given how infrequently I use it. This is a very basic but good quality large rolling tool box. The latches and handle are pretty heavy duty, and this will work with other Ridgid pro tool storage solutions that lock to the lid.

If you buy good tools and hate to carry them around unprotected in buckets or worse yet, have them rattling around in the back of a pick-up truck, then this box may be what you are looking for. I don’t understand why some expensive, quality tool manufacturers have decided that providing a cloth gym bag is good enough, but those things never last more than a month and provide zero protection. A tool box like this is great for a number of different power tools, plus cords, extra blades, bits and other accessories and even room for your thermos. This box is strong enough to travel at the bottom of the load, is weathertight and dust tight, and is made to accommodate stacking and attachment to a variety of other Ridgid boxes. This model has a pull-out handle similar to travel luggage, so you can wheel it one-handed, although I am somewhat concerned that prolonged time in dusty and abusive environments may clog the ability of the handle to slide in and out. It appears that the handle may be removable for the purpose of cleaning or replacing, but there is no information on that, or really any other aspect of the box other than a cursory tag about a few features. The inside half-tray can be positioned either right side or left side, but doesn’t slide back and forth, which would be handy when needing to access something below it, so it really needs to be fully removed. Not a big issue, but somewhat frustrating. The lid is constructed with a number of integrated ribs, which I assume are for strength and support, but it seems like a waste of space. It would have been great if they were designed to be used for additional storage of small items. Other than those few flaws, this should be a handy box for frequent moving and protection of tools, supplies and equipment.

I like this RIDGID 28 IN. MOBILE JOB BOX in BLACK. The looks match it’s purpose. Very rugged looking. The 2 wheels on the back are my biggest concern. Not sure how long they will last if this box is full and gets pulled on asphalt and concrete daily. Storage is plenty. I can fit 2 drill, nail gun, tape measure, bowl of nails and screws, gloves and a few other thing. It also fits in my small trunk. The smell is weird but that will air out. The only other concern is the handle to pull it. There is no way to keep it closed or clamped. So do t accidentally grab or don’t accidentally close it on your fingers.

Decent sturdy tool box on wheels with telescoping handle. There is an orange seal along the perimeter of the lid (feels like a hose) to keep moisture and dust out of the box. Wheels are a composite plastic with a rubber grip and a shallow tread. 2 metal loops, one on each closure can accommodate 2 small padlocks (not included,) Bigger than expected. In fact more space than I needed to replace my smaller busted toolbox. My son wants to use this for his game stuff. He gets together with friends every week to play card and board games. Will fit a few long card boxes, supplies for painting miniature models and etc. He wouldn't have to worry about hauling his stuff in the rain. So, I guess we've found an alternative use, but it's a really nice toolbox too. Compatible with Rigid Pro Tool Storage System, you can pick up items like other tool carriers, organizers and crates that can be locked together. Son can use it for now (until I get more tools.)

I would recommend this product to anyone who is looking at a easy way to take their tools to a jobsite or move around the home from place to place without making alot of different trips and able to take many tools at one time. the wheels on this product help make it easier to maneuver over most terrains but I would not take over rocky terrain as the wheels will probably not hold up. There is a sliding tray inside for smaller parts such as screws or nails and this product works with the tool cases or organizers in the system. Product has 2 convenient handles to use.

With 2 heavy duty wheels for mobility plus the suitcase style pull handle, this is a must for anyone going out on a job site. Hinges and front lock snaps are also rugged. Has a removeable top tray for added room if all you have are large items to move. Ya', this box was made with the working guy in mind.

Loving this new rolling toolbox for the back of my pickup. Best feature for me is the pull-out handle so the box can sit all the way in the back, and I can still pull the handle out and roll it forward when I need it. Keeps everything I like to keep in the truck neat, handy and organized. As well as clean and dry with the rubber seals. Removable try is a nice addition to keep smaller items like hitch pins and tie down straps neat and organized, while the main body of the box easily fits my jumper cables, extension cord, and hitch attachments.

Lightweight but extremely solid tool box. "Rigid" is a great name for this product. The toting handle has a soft rubber grip that makes it comfortable to move about. The small tray inside can fit on either side of the box. This box is great for hauling larger construction tools, even setting up a kit for air tools. I have all my hoses, various nail guns, etc., all in one place. Although not specified, it can be strapped down with the two lift up bars. Lockable as well.

The length and weight capacity (100 lbs.) of this toolbox make it unique. Wheels and a retractable handle further set it apart. And the price is a deal. At 28-inches long, it can hold a 2-foot level and other long tools that will not fit into any other toolbox I have seen. Also, the 4-inch wheels are on the “short side” of the toolbox which makes it more maneuverable. The wheels are rubber on a plastic hub but are smaller than the 22-inch-wide mobile toolbox/cart which has a lower weight capacity, but with wheels a little over 7” that protrude from the sides of the box, making them more prone to damage. The wheels on the 28-inch box are in wheel wells and flush with the bottom of the toolbox so it “slides” from stair to stair or over soft surfaces. The wheel on the latch-side of the box is flush with the box exterior; the wheel of the back corner protrudes about ½-inch from the box but is flush with the hinges above. This should allow it to travel better. The toolbox is compatible with other Ridgid Pro Gear/Tool/Storage System stackable units if you need more capacity. However, you will not be able to place or store the toolbox vertically with other toolboxes attached without it tipping over. The included removable tray is good for organizing small parts, fasteners, and small tools. There is plenty of capacity for several cordless tools and a charger. There is a 3/8—inch wide slot in the middle of one side of the box and guide on the other side and bottom that could receive a field made divider. A second tray and a divider would have been a plus. They do not appear to be available as accessories and no instructions were included. The single wall plastic box is well made and has two strong latches capable of receiving locks. The outside dimensions are 28.5” X 13.78” X 12.44”. The inside smallest inside dimensions (not including the wheel wells) are 25” X 10.25” X 9.25” deep; there is another 1“ of depth in the lid recess. The lid is gasketed to keep dust and water out. There are ribbed recesses inside the lid that appear to be wasted space, but the ribs do provide strength. I could not find specs on whether one can stand on the lid, but it easily held 230 lbs. and there appear to be treads in two places on the lid where your feet would go. There are finger grips on each end of the box to facilitate lifting into a vehicle or onto a loading dock. The handle retracts and stays firmly in place, but it does not stay in its extended position. The empty toolbox weighs 13.2 lbs. Interestingly, there is a “Cold Box” depicted on the product tag, but it is not yet available from The Home Depot. An attachable cooler would be a great addition to the Pro Gear line. The toolbox comes with a lifetime warranty on materials and workmanship. It is a product of Israel and made for Ridgid by Keter—the shed/storage company.

Versatile, heavy duty rolling toolbox with room for plenty of tools - see video. The build quality is great with metal lid locks on the thick impact resistant plastic. The pull out rolling handle and the central lifting handle and both substantial and the rubber wheels turn smoothly and absorb minor bumps. The carry tray is very handy with deep sides that stop things falling out. The moisture and dust seal is a thoughtful touch. The only downside is the smell! I suppose it's the type of plastic used but it definitely needs a few days to air out.
