Only cut one schedule 40 pipe before breaking the blade. I did not use the backup blade. I used my sawzall. I would not recommend the product to anyone.

Great cutter, does it fast, does it clean and is extremely accurate. The only drawback is that they do not sell replacement blades for this and the 2" cutter. I cannot for the life of me figure out why they don't. Have asked the clerks in the plumbing section and they say they have no idea on why they don't sell the replacements, nor how to get them. Luckily there is an included spare. HOME DEPOT, please supply us with the blades somehow!

Worst pipe cutting tool I've ever used. Poor design and weak blade that makes it really difficult to cut through ABS. Disappointing because Ridgid usually makes great products, per my experience.

I bought this tool and the one for 2" ABS pipe because I didn't want to have to buy a deburing tool and a saw blade to cute the pipe. It was easy to use. Twist it around and the pipe is cut fast, easy and clean. Once cut it is ready to be glued. Just be aware that the cutting blade is in the middle so aline your cut line with the center of the tool head. You may want to use a sharpie and draw the center line from the blade up to and across the head of the tool to make is easier.

This FOAM CORE pipe cutter works great. Do not buy it unless you are cutting FOAM CORE pipe it is not made to cut regular PVC pipe. Saves me lots of clean up and cuts like a dream with no burr.

This tool does not cut PVC tubing. The blade sinks into the PVC only with great force after which you cannot turn the tubing to continue the cut. I threw it into the corner and grabbed a hacksaw to cut the tubing. Don't waste your money.

This cutter cuts ABS FOAM CORE Pipe perfectly. It is NOT made for solid core PVC or ABS pipe. These cutters are made for specific pipe sizes. Currently a cutter for 1 1/2" and 2" ABS foam core is available.

I have 40 years experience and this tool is only half way there. It needs some improvements. First use: the blade broke! Handle should be modified to hold replacement blades New tool should include a few replacement blades Blades should be better quality Less chance of breaking
