Not easy to make clean cuts on this tool. The edges will be all uneven and rough. The difficult part is trying to hold the tool and pipe steadily in place while spinning the tool around the pipe. Tool is just too expensive to get these imperfect results.

On the 2nd pipe cut, the blade snapped off. I replaced the blade with the spare it came with and that one broke on the very next cut. This is not the first one I purchased from Home Depot - about a year ago I purchased one and it still works fine, so I either got a bad one this time or they have replaced the blade with inferior metal. Also, Home Depot does not carry replacement blades so the tool is just plastic waste now. Great idea, poor performance.

Great tool for even, burr free cuts. There is a skill to using it though. If you don't keep even pressure on the cutter, the finished cut might not be even. I'm a homeowner and I needed it for one project, chances are I'll never use it again. But I'm not one of those DUI customers who when they're DONE USING IT they return it.

I recommend using gloves that can grip to hold the pipe, but otherwise was simple and easy to use!!

I have the 2" & 1 1/2" cutters... Love them... They are really easy and quick... They make very clean cuts with no deburring needed... Only thing I don't like is there are no optional replacement blades available by Ridgid.. So if you're blade dulls out or breaks, you have no choice but to purchase another one... I've gone through several of these over the past years just for that reason... But that being said, I haven't found and easier and cleaner way to cut ABS pipe of these two sizes...

Purchased to do some home plumbing upgrades.Works excellent as expected. Makes nice clean cuts with no debris and minimal effort.

I was going to buy a regular wheel-type tubing cutter for an ABS replumbing project, but this simple blade cutter promised to do the job at 40% of the cost. I tried it, and by golly they were right! Perfect results, every time.

Super easy and always a perfect cut that does not need to be cleaned up. I'm a female and not a professional plumber, so I didn't have any issues pushing the sharp blade into the ABS pipe, and then turning it for a 360 deg cut! Only one small word of caution: Be careful of the exposed blade... I cut myself by picking up the tool incorrectly. I would recommend this to everyone! In fact, I bought a second one for my friend!

It's a bit hard to use if you don't have something to hold it in place and it doesn't cut deep enough you have to make the blade pass a couple of times and still it doesn't cut that deep

Nice and clean cuts. Only complain is when it comes down to precision work. Its a bit difficult to cut on the spot you mark.

Cut the pipe pretty well. Just have to hold it steady as you turn it to avoid wobbly cuts.

I read these reviews which are all very positive. So take this with a grain of salt as I saw some draw backs. I used this to cut 1 1/2" ABS new drainage pipe for a utility sink. Every cut made with this tool has a small spiral and was not square as other reviews claim. I had digital calipers and if you care one side was about 2-3mm higher than the other side. Which maybe does not seem like much but the outer edge then has a 2-3mm ridge. That edge had a ridge where the spiral meets the high and low part of this spiral edge. I ended up de-burring and sanding down the edges face to reduce this ridge/edge. So it ended up being fine. Now compared to a hacksaw this was a way faster quick cut, easy to use, no mess. It is not going to make square cuts but it is easier to use, and you can take a second to sand it down. I would prefer this over the alternative. But the one draw back is the small spiral cut. But compared to the old days, I would still use this. One tip you could try, use a hacksaw to score the square cut, then use this pipe cutter and I would be curious if this would stay in the scored groove and not spiral?

If you have two large anchored vices you may be able to use this to cut 2" PVC. I gave up and used my reciprocating saw instead, which worked great! I'll be returning this. I'd give it one star but maybe it works well for other types of pipe.

This tool is great for cutting ABS when making drain connections for sinks.

Was sceptical about this but WOW does it cut great. ABS PVC dont matter. Straight cuts and no burrs.

Makes a fairly clean cut with moderate effort. You do have to hold it in position or it will cut in a spiral.

This product makes life so much easier. If you have to cut ABS do yourself a favor and get one of these.
