This is the third fiip action door lock I purchased . It works great and is perfect for preventing children from opening doors. If the gap between the door and the frame is wide enough all you need to do is install the lock. However, one of my doors closes very tightly and I needed to mortise the door frame similar to how a door hinge would be installed. If it where not for the need to mortise the door frame, I would have given it five stars.

The flip action door lock is just what we were looking for. It was easy to install and makes it impossible for a small child or elderly person to open the basement door, thus avoiding unnecessary injuries.

This works very well to secure the basement door from our toddler. It is attractive and low profile, unlike many child safe devices. My only complaint is that sometimes when you open the door the lock flips back in the way and must be moved again before closing the door. This is only a minor irritation.

Works great, keeps my kids from letting themselves out the door. Great price too!

These locks are great for privacy locks on parents bedrooms etc They aork great anywhere you want some privacy but don't want to mess with a lengthy installation or a key.

Simple idea, easy install. Good for keeping kids out of closets and opening outer doors.

This is an incredibly easy item to install and it does the job.

The store did not stock the color we needed. Three very helpful employees found the product on line and helped us order it, based on the picture. The color is called "oil rubbed bronze" in the plumbing and electrical fixtures. The flip latch works perfectly and matches the hardware on the door and goes with the stain on the frame better than can be expected. Great product, outstanding service, excellent price. Thanks.

I just purchased this in white. Due to it being painted, it seems to clog the threads and the head of a screw broke off trying to get it in. Buy the brass one or one without any coating on the lock. Other than that, I've used locks like these for 20 years. They work great for safety while inside your room or home without having a key.
