Not as fluid and Green Glue Acoustic sealant, and seems to have firmed up quicker after a days drying. I assume though since it meets the ASTM specifications that it will perform as intended regardless of my "physical" comparisons. The price is much better than Green Glue Acoustic sealant as well.

Worked exactly as promised!

Used to seal a vapor barrier on basement walls. Was actually surprised at how easy this was to use considering all of the warning I read about it being really messy. Key learning was that you don't need a super large bead to do the job.

It helped in reducing noise from basement to bedroom above. I used the product to seal cracks in subfloor and joists, as first step of complete sound proofing with Roxul and Quiet-rock

This product got to be on time and very easy to you I would recommend this product

Other places didn't carry it so HD to the rescue again. Not sure what's special about it, but some people recommend this for plastic vapor barrier.

Works great for sound sealant

The actual material is what I needed and it has worked out well. BUT! The quality of the tube itself is BAD! Most of the tubes are damaged in the case. Usually around the nozzle end.Also, the material just doesn’t flow out of these tubes well at all.Keep the product,get a new tube manufacturer.

I used the caulk to seal 6 mil poly sheeting vapor barrier for a major home remodel. The product was not very smelly and not too sticky. The larger cartridges were a bit heavy and large for getting into some ackward locations, but I went through a lot of cartridges, so they were actually much better to use than smaller caulking cartridges. Most important, the building inspector approved the work.

Tubes were very inconsistent...some were watery for the first half and then stiff for the second half. The smell is quite strong and I can still smell it three weeks later. I switched to tight bond and the room with freshly applied sealant smells better than the one with three week old OSI

When I opened the box in my basement that is cool two weeks later every single container had the spout fall inside.....every single one was ruined. A complete waste of money.

Works great for its intended use, to seal areas that need to be as quiet as possible. It’s difficult to get the caulk out of the tube if the tube is cold, so warm it up a bit. Used 24 tubes with no trouble as long as the tubes were warm.

Actually most of the tubes were damaged. I could fix a few by wrapping electrical tape around it to stop it from exploding. 8 out of 12 in one case, the nozzleswere smashed 100% into the tubes. It dries hard and is nothing like green glue. Does not stay flexible as it should.

Shipping is terrible. I guess HD lost the shipment as it never arrived 9 days after it was supposed to arrive. I called about every day and no one has a clue. Terrible service. I'll never do this again. Not even a call back from HD.

We used this on the areas of the plastic covering the insulation through out the new house. It was what we needed to close any air leaks in our vapor seal.

Sealed up the wood joists before putting drywall up. Stop those darn air leaks

Excellent sealant. Quite thick/viscous. The contractor and his workers actually preferred it that way, though, even though it takes more effort to apply via the the caulking gun. We also tried a different one that was softer, but that tended to “run” before it set.

I purchased this product to use as a sealant under plywood sheathing on new construction. It was reasonably easy to apply, although I suspect it would require a lot of effort if you tried to apply when cold. It is still pliable a week later but I have no idea how it age. Clean up was very easy with just soap and water. I purchased a case of this and two tubes arrived damaged. Home Depot customer service was great, I got a refund for the two damaged tubes.

I used for soundproofing and for drafts. Easy to work with and made a big difference. I would purchase again.

Clearly states not for vapor barrier or any use with plastic. Totally useless. Any waterbased product is no good for acoustic sealant as it hardens.

Did not dispense as required. This type of product should not become rigid. This product does harden and limit its use for sound transmission. Will NEVER use again.

Product states that it stays flexible. Was completely dried hard overnight. Made moisture barrier sealing difficult.

I used 4 cases building a home recording studio. This caulk flows well, (unless old or stored improperly) , doesn't shrink excessively, and cures to an airtight/soundtight seal. I'm very happy with the results.

Building a super airtight energy efficient home (ie. passive house) requires a lot of sealing. Tremco acoustical sealant is the tube of choice because it stays gooey forever. That's a good thing for sealing, but it's black and MESSY. It also costs a LOT. So I bought this stuff to test as an alternative. QUALITY IS 3.5 Stars, not 4 based on below. Value is high. EASE OF USE: *** First off, use the tubes warm. Don't let them harden up in cold weather or you're muscles will give out in a half hour. Otherwise the product comes out of the tubes fine. And it sets up so it won't ruin your clothes, car, and everything else it touches. FLEXIBILITY: *** Can't really see how this works over long haul, but coming out the gate, I'd avoid it for sealing top plates and bottom plates and will stick with tremco. However, I think this is a way good alt for using in enclosed space like inside and inside the wall cavity or to seal up sheathing. It sets up similar to silicone caulking. Maybe a little softer. But it's still more akin to normal caulking than Tremco product. GREENNESS: ***** Five stars if it actually is green. The Tremco stuff is pretty toxic (I mean, relatively anyhow. The stuff we use to clean sinks and toilets is worse.) COST: ***** Cheapest thing out there.
