I was very attracted to the style of this light and it fit my needs for a light with a motion detector. Either the light is defective, the adjustments for the detector are defective or this is just not a quality product. The light goes on only when very stimulated and does not work from a distance. I am dissappointed in this product, my third DIY project in 3 months, ordered online or purchased in store that was defective and had to be replaced. The fact that I was not paying someone to install these three lights (one a fan light) was my luck. Having to personally install, remove and reinstall the 2 previous projects, more than once, has really discouraged me from Home Depot electrical products. (I have bought and successfully installed many lights from HD over the years and been very satisfied - not this year)

This light is beautiful! It is exactly what I wanted. Our house is older and this light resembles the old time street lights. I love it!

Regretfully, I did not test it prior to installation. After installation, I discovered it did not work so I returned it a bought a different fixture.

Installation was easy enough. BUT, the sensor did not seem to work well. Returned once thinking it, the sensor malfunctioned. reorder another set, still the sensor failed to detect me (5 ft 2") and the motion of door and human nearby. Called the manufacturer and was asked to call back after dark (which was 8PM EST and 5PST). When did so, the office was closed. Not sure why I was asked to call back AFTER the office was closed.

I was looking for a small profile external light with a motion sensor and took a chance on this item. Installation was straight forward. If going over siding, you should get a special siding plate (found in the lighting dept). One nice feature not listed on the description (or box) is that you can override the motion sensor using the switch if you require it to be on longer than the sensor timer. It is also completely made out of plastic, so it will take some time to see how it holds up. Not a stock item at all Home Depot and ordering it online was simple enough.

I like this product because I live in an area near salt water exposure so this composition does not corrode. My only disappointment is that this purchase was a replacement for one that was in use only 1 year and the sensor went out.

Purchased online without seeing. The light was a little larger than I thought it would be but not overly large. It is an all plastic construction, nice for outdoor use. I have had a little trouble with the zone however. The cars driving on the street turn on light. It has a very large zone.

The light came quickly and in good shape. It was easy to install, however, it has a large base which needs to be considered before purchase as we had to cut in and build up the attachment point on our lap siding

Yes it's plastic, but it will hold up to the elements. Looks good on red brick house. Liked them so much I ordered two more to put on my garage.No issues setting up range and sensitivity. Like the fact that it is downlight much better illumination by side door than previous lamps.

All plastic, but you would never know. Looks very good, low cost. However when mounted above the door trim, the motion sensor doesn't scan "down" even if I wave my hand overhead, and light wont come on even after adjusting sensitivity. I had to bypass the motion sensor and just use a switch. Best when installed next to a door, not above. Would have been 5 stars otherwise.

I received this item after ordering it online. I ended up returning it because the product just felt really cheap, all plastic and didn't think it would hold up to a winter. I thought it was must better looking in the pictures online than in person.

After researching several sites for outdoor lights I read everything you had to say and also went to the manufacturer's site and this fixture seemed to fit my requirements to the fullest and I am happy with the purchase.

This is the 2nd light I have purchased and it lasted an even shorter amount of time than the 1st one which I was replacing. Money is tight and I just wasted it twice...lesson learned.

Received fixture via UPS in good condition as far as appearance was concerned. Installed this motion sensor fixture on back porch location - instructions were easy to follow and was installed within about 30 mintues total. Flipped circuit breaker on and followed instructions for adjusting sensor sensitivity and distance with a sticker placed over sensor window. Lamp would not light with sticker on or off. Had to break for supper, so left lamp untouched and with sticker removed while dining. It was dark when returning to look at fixture. Lamp was lit. Thought the situation was well in hand. Attempted to make final sensitivity and distance adjustments. Had no affect on activation of lamp which stayed lit, no matter what adjustments were made. Motion had no affect. Decided to wait until daylight the next day to see of lamp went out. Lamp would not go out. Had to set circuit breaker to "off", then back to "on" to extinguish lamp. Found that this lamp acted like a "dusk to dawn" sensitive fixture, not a "motion sensor" fixture as advertised. Fixture was defective. Did not call Home Depot about problem. Called manufacturer who confirmed fixture was defective and is sending me a replacement item.

The light matches our non motion lights. We seem to be having trouble with the settings. When it works it provides us exactly what we need.

Had them for for the last month and so far all o.k. Good lighting and comes on quickly.

We live near Lake Michigan. Thought the nautical Marina would look just right on our brand new garage. They do!

Just remodeled a beach cottage and installed 4 of these lights. I love them! Everyone that's seen them loves them. So cute and perfect for a beach house. Motion sensor works great. I couldn't believe I found this light at this price. Nothing negative to say!

I wish that the sensitivity on the lamp was a bit better- it doesn't activate until people are less than 10 feet away. Override is spotty- I usually can't get the unit to stay on all night with the switch as it is supposed to do. It's attractive and should stay looking the same for years because of the "non-metallic" (read: plastic) top and lamp cover.

We replaced all exterior ligh fixtures with Newport Coastal products. Extremely easy to install. Made of material that should last on a waterfront home. Would highly recommend this fixture for anyone needing a nautical look with a motion sensor. Note: the white fixture is not available in stores and must be purchased online.

I ordered the white Marina motion sensor outdoor light online as my local store did not carry this model in white. I received it in a timely manner and installed it the same day I got it. I am not particularly handy with tools but must say that I did not have any problems as it was a replacement so the wiring and box thing was already there. It looks great as it has a bit of a retro look. Fits in with the style of my house which is a 1940's bungalow style in the Pacific NW. The only thing I woud have liked with this light would have been a dusk to dawn feature. However the motion sensor works fine.

Received 3 of these and one was slightly damaged - missing an adjustment knob for sensitivity. Quality is good, but the sensitivity is low so they don't go off until you are 10-15 feet away. Probably makes sense for compact urban applications, but for my large suburban lot I wish they turned on at 30 feet or so. Just hoping they age well since they are plastic - hopefully they won't fade.

Absolutely perfect for salty sea air coastal environment.

This light is really great as there is limited selection of decorative lights that have a motion sensor. It's made of black plastic but still looks great on my exterior wall. Installation was fairly easy, but since I did it during the day, it was difficult to tell if it actually worked until it got dark. The override sequence to turn the light on during daylight did not work, but when it got dark the light worked great! I am very happy with the price and quality. I used a CFL light bulb, too.

Very attractive and very easy to mount on our front door area. Should last a long time. It fills our expectations.
