    Q:I inherited this lamp (was on house when I bought it last year). The lamp is switched and behaves erratically. Sometimes will go on and sometimes will not. Have tried covering sensor with no luck. I do not have the instructions and so cannot adjust the motion detector or ambient light detector. How can I get a copy of the original instructions?

    A:  I believe that you can get a copy on Newport Costal's website. The light would behave that way for me though and the instructions did not help. I ended up replacing it.

        A:  Thank you for your interest in our Newport Coastal 7972-11W Marina Outdoor White Motion-Sensing Lamp. The 7972-11W has a manual override feature if connected to a light switch which will disable the photocell and the motion sensor on the fixture for the time being. To activate the manual override, turn the wall switch OFF and ON again within 2 seconds. The wall light will remain on until the switch is turned off. The light can be reset to automatic operation by turning the light OFF for at least 5 seconds and back ON again.           A:  Yes. I have installed two lights that are controlled on the same on/off switch. You need to adjust the settings on the motion detector light accordingly.

              Q:HI, what 60w LED bulb is compatible with this fixture that HomeDept would carry? See that "some" led bulbs are not compatible, so which LED bulb would the manufacturer recommend? Thanks!

                    A:  Return it and get your money back because whatever you do these lights don't work. Don't waste your time, money or trouble trying to figure it out. They simply don't work. Sorry if that is not what you wanted to hear, but that is the reality of this garbage product

                        A:  Hi Laurie, Flashing usually occurs when an incompatible bulb is used. Try a different type of bulb, such as an incandescent or halogen bulb to troubleshoot the fixture. If it continues to malfunction with those other bulbs, blame the fixture and return it. If the fixture operates correctly with the new bulb, then it was the LED bulb that was not compatible.                         A:  i think the light is tripping the daylight sensor to turn the light off - and that's the vicious cycling. Try putting something in the cover to block the light coming out the back by the sensor (and then it seemed to work for me)

                          A:  No Point. There is nothing in the instruction booklet that will help you to get these lamps working. They are garbage. Take them back and get a refund. They do not work.
