Does not cut evenly on the face .

I suppose this works as intended, but if you plan to use it to plane large, flat surfaces, I would look elsewhere. It works well for shaving small edges but this will not give you a big flat surface. I found a couple uses for it, so I won't return it, but it was not what I was looking to buy.

Great product. I used it to plane a door I had that was a touch too wide and it worked flawlessly. Honestly, it's hard to beat Makita for quality.

I added a sawdust bag to it which I would recommend doing. The planer itself meets the high expectations I get from Makita equipment.

The bottom surface is aluminum, very soft, so easily scratched and damaged.

Bought it to perfectly level the joists of a 14’x14’ 12” o.c. deck. Since I was going with Deckorators composite decking, I did not want any waving. This thing went through the joists w/o effort at the different settings I was trying.

I have another planer that I use normally and bought this one because I wanted the finer blades to use more as a finish planer. I tested it and it runs very smooth and is of highest quality machining. The only gripe is no direct connection for the vacuum nozzle which is something that should just be with the unit. So either you have to be creative or order one. Come on Makita, great products but include the piece.
