Bought as a gift for my son he loves it

It works great, it needs the dust collector bag included in kit if you can not buy it after market. I tried ordering the bag that said it was made specifically for the model we purchased. When it arrived it does not fit.

I purchased this with extra blades thinking no blades were inside only to find them in the tool already. After setting the desied cut I turned on this tool and within seconds shaved off the top of my door so it dont stick. Its not a tool that I will use often but its going to come in handy.

Nice tool but it should have come with a dust bag!

Makita tools are always a safe bet. Quality. Works well.

This tool cut down on my time hanging new interior doors. It has paid for itself in one use.

Worked just as good as I hoped it would

I returned the first one because even set on zero it would make cuts in the wood. When I recieved the second one, the same thing happened again. I tried shimming it on the rear shoe, but must have been to much. I removed the shims and decided I would just go with it since what I am doing can be smoothed out with a belt sander. The cary case is nice, but I would not purchase another one!!!

I was looking for a hand planer to add to my Woodshop and fix a couple doors in my house. I first purchased a bargain Jellas brand from the infamous online retailer we all know. The thing was all out of alignment and totally useless. So I went to Home Depot to compare and looked at the dewalt, ryobi, and this model. I purchase the Makita and was blown away by its superior quality. It worked perfectly and is built to last longer then me. I would recommend not trying to save a buck on a precision tool like this. This makita will not disappoint.

Tool works well it makes smooth cuts and is easy to adjust. I used to to level out an old table top it worked vary well.

Incredibly easy to use with excellent results.

Purchased this when replacing 21 doors in the house. Worked really good, nearly every door had to be trimmed (the joys of contractor doors). Only Problem as others have mentioned is the lack of Vacuum attachment, would be a lot better with some sort of mount - But in comes Duct Tape, which works but not the best, and a little slip of the tape and you'll put a gouge in your shopvac tubing...JUST BE CAREFUL.
