Nice replacement for older push-knob style dimmer switch. I much prefer the appearance and operation of this style dimmer. My only quibbles have to do with installation in a multi-gang box (in my case, a 4-gang). It would have been easier if the leads were a bit longer. These are slightly shorter leads than my old dimmers had, and required a good bit of finagling to get all 4 switches connected without straining the wires. Also, for a multi-gang installation, the tabs on one or both sides have to be removed, which lowers the max wattage rating for incandescent bulbs, something I didn't realize in advance of my purchase. The reduced maximums still meet my.needs at present, but it would have been quite disappointing if they hadn't. All in all, though, I'm still quite pleased with this dimmer.

Instruction sheet and hardware (except cover plate) included. ==== Installation ==== Easy as any dimmer. Unless you are using this on a 3-way circuit, there are just the three wires to attach (green (ground), black (line), and red (lamp)). The green ground wire is simply crimped to the metal front plate. The 4th wire (red/white) is left alone with a wire nut to keep it from shorting to anything else. If you have a 3-way circuit, the 4th wire is used for that circuit but there can only be this one dimmer on the circuit; the other control must be a regular 3-way switch only. ==== Operation ==== This works as it should. The switch is used to turn on and off the lamp and the slide control is used to set the dimming level That way, the level can be set one time and left there if needed. On the screw-in bulb type LED lamps I used, the lowest setting produced light at near nightlight level, very low. I did try this dimmer on 3 other large lamps that were not advertised as dimmable with this type dimmer and they all worked; but 2 of them did buzz a little at the low level. I would not recommend using it on these types of lights even if they seem to work. And all 3 gave about 50% light at the lowest setting. I recommend using this for LED or CFL only; because for incandescent lamps, you can use a much cheaper type. ==== Summary ==== Works as advertised, and for 3-way circuits also. Controls are functional without much flickering during light transitions. This may save a little money by buying the 3-pack. Dress cover plates are not included.

While a lot of dimmable LEDs will work with standard dimmers, they just don't dim that much. With this dimmer that's not the case. You can get the bulb to dim much more. No blinking, no buzzing. There's an adjustment lever on the side of the switch which controls how much the light will dim. The way I set it up was, after installing the switch I turned on the fixture and set the dimmer to the lowest setting with the adjustment lever on the lowest setting too. At this setting the light was off so I slowly moved the lever up until the light just turned on. If set too low the light won't come on when you flip the switch if the dimmer is all the way at the lowest setting.

The switch works great on my dining light that has Cree LED bulbs installed. I had a regular 3-way dimmer switch installed initially and the lights would go on sporadic flickering spells. It was very annoying. This switch seems to have taken care of the problem. I installed upside down if you compare to the product photo. It was more important for me to have the on/off switch more visible/accessible by being at the top and the slide on the bottom as I normally keep the light bright and just occasionally want to dim it. I've had similarly designed switches before and I found that people unfamiliar with this type of switch just used the dimmer to dim the lights all the way down rather than use the switch to turn the lights off if the dimmer was over the switch.

Needed a couple more switches to match what was already used throughout the house, and these did the trick.

Just what I needed for my new bathroom light. Having the dimmer switch allows for a soft setting for guests to see walking in.

I used these dimmers to replace like incandescent version which do not always work well with LED bulbs. These new units work very well, and the lowest dimming range is better than with non LED dimmers plus they eliminate the occasional flickering. I plan to order more to finish replacing the remaining old dimmers.
