We're sorry to hear about the issue you experienced with the Skylark fan control. Some fans have a built-in module or limiter that can't be controlled by other manufacturer's controls. We suggest you contact the fan manufacturer to find out if your fan can be controlled by a third-party fan control, such as the SFSQ-FH .

I bought this fan control to pair up with a Fantech FR100 inline fan, which was pulling too much ...
I bought this fan control to pair up with a Fantech FR100 inline fan, which was pulling too much air from the bathroom at full power. The instructions were clear and the fan control was easy to install. All three speeds work with the Fantech and the difference in fan draw is noticeable.
