I really enjoy this kayak. Only a couple of additions would make it 5 stars. These would be a dry hatch and a carrying handle in the back. The handle is easy to add. It's not the fastest, but I'm not looking for speed, so that's just fine with me.

Great for the money
It's a good beach boat, the fittings are on the cheap side but for the money it's good. It would be perfect if it has built in wheels at the back end as it is a real dog to carry. At least a handle!

Good value
I actually used the kayak for the first time last week end at big bear lake, It was very comfortable to ride on the lake, had a great time with it, I did not want to come back to land. every thing worked good. Tracked nice in the water, I like the back of it because its flat and easy to store on its end. in the garage.

Great beginner kayak!'
I purchased two of these. They are light weight and easy to handle and super stable. Great for beginners and children . If you're looking for speed this is not the kayak for you :)

Not too bad for the price
This kayak is great value for the price point. I have taken it out on a flat water conditions with no wind, and I probably wouldnt take it out under many other circumstances. This is meant for flat water. Overall impression is good. I know that Lifetime makes other attachments for the kayak, but if you just get the plain kayak there isnt much else that you can do with it besides just taking it for a nice cruise and getting some peace and quite (dont expect to do any fishing out of it). The kayak sits wider than deeper which I believe helps with stability, and at no point did I worry about it tipping. After about 45 minutes I did get a little bit stiff. I'm a big guy and although there are many foot rest slots, you still kind of feel a little off. Also, this thing is light, and seems only about 60lbs, which makes it VERY easy to load in and out of the water. No extra thrills and spills, you get what you pay for, a simple flat water kayak.

Great Kayak for a Beginner Like Me!
We decided to take it out for a spin on a creek nearby. I like that it has the foot rests in different places for a quick change of seating. Seating is comfy. The kayak didn't come with a manual, we were curious about the add-ons it offers, I couldn't find anything on their website.
The kayak is light but durable. It also has drain holes to prevent the kayak from sinking, but I never ran into a problem when out on the water; I tried rocking back and forth a few times, and it didn't even budge. The sit-in kayaks are prone to rolling over rather easily, something I've never liked! The paddle it comes with works nicely. It has a cradle for the paddle. It has a storage area for your things. I enjoyed holding some drinks in there and my portable radio in a case.
It's very compact, I placed it in my garage and it doesn't take up a huge footprint.
I can't think of any cons, except that it probably wouldn't be great for rapid grades between 3 and 4, but definitely okay for grades 1 and 2. It's for the easy things in life like a lake or pond or creek, not something with a lot of fast waves.
Well, I'm off to search for more places to kayak! Enjoy!

Sturdy Sit-On-Top Kayak
This kayak is slightly lighter than other sit-on-tops I've used, but by all accounts seems just as durable. It is not a fast kayak, nor is it meant for waves or moving water, but it handles well enough and is surprisingly stable.
It is quite maneuverable in tight quarters due to the design of the hull, but on windier days it probably won't track too well in open water. For casual, beginner use, I really like the sit-on-top design. It is far easier to get situated on this kayak and get going compared to a traditional design. Of course, you'll get a little wetter than you would with a traditional design, but that is all part of the fun. The included paddle was sturdier than I was expecting.

Quality kayak
The Lotus kayak is made of what appears to be tough, sturdy plastic and should accommodate different sized paddlers well. There are various foot locations molded in to suite different body sizes. [Note: There is a stated capacity limit of 250 lbs.] The back rest is comfortable and easily falls back to a flat position for storage. There is a nice well for carrying a few items secured under bungie cords, but it is not protected from water intrusion. The boat is promoted with a good carry handle located on the bow. The handle will be very helpful for pulling the boat ashore, but not for carrying the boat unless another person carries from the stern. While the boat is fairly light, its bulky dimensions and smooth plastic make grasping and carrying by one person very awkward. There should be two carry handles affixed to both sides of the boat for easy carrying and loading on or into a vehicle, and vice-versa.
The kayak shipped with a nice double-sided two-piece paddle. The paddler can press a button to release the handles, making storage easier. There are two locations for affixing the paddles together resulting in alternative paddle positions, depending on the paddler's preference. The paddles appear to be well crafted.
Overall, a very nice kayak.
