Answer This Question

A:  I think it's 250lbs? It can handle a bit more but officially it says 250.

by|Sep 8, 2020

A:  Absolutely! The Lotus is one of our smaller kayaks so it is great for kids. It is wider than some of the others which will give you the stability you want. And it has a Weight Capacity of 250 Lb so your child will not outgrow it.

Q:Will I need to buy scupper plugs for the holes?

      Answer This Question

A:  Scupper holes let the water that has splashed into your sit on top kayak drain out, keeping you drier than you would be if you had no holes. There's lots of different reasons why you might like to keep them plugged. Anytime the top of the cockpit or tank well is under the water level the water won't drain or it might even flood the cockpit/tank well, this may be due to the kayak's design or it having too much weight in it. When this happens some people plug their scuppers and deal with having water inside their kayak. If you choose to plug your holes, they can be ordered through our Customer Service Department. Our Customer Service Team can be reached at 800-225-3865 or by email at customercare@lifetime.com. Customer Service hours are Monday-Friday, 7:00 am to 5:00 pm and Saturday, 9:00 am to 1:00 pm (MT).

A:  You will not need scupper plugs for the holes in the kayak. My husband and I did kayak in some lakes where there was a lot of fallen debris from the trees and it was then I did wish I had some plugs but we just kept kayaking and they slowly disappeared. The holes in the kayak allow you not to fill up with tons of water. They're actually a good thing. We've loved our kayaks and so have our B&B guests. We'll be purchasing more of these sit on kayaks! Enjoy the summer!

A:  Only if you want to keep the water out. These are not big kayaks and are probably not suited for much except play and fun. They are not big enough to use of serious fishing. So, wear your bathing suit and have fun. Use scuppers if you want to try to stay dry.

Q:This isn't a question, I notice people complaining it doesn't have any handle so you can carry it by yourself, well it does it's built right into it, in the middle of the kayak. You face the back of the kayak to you . Reach down in front of the seat and grab.(there will be a design of finger tips in the hand hold place)

A:  The photo shows a handle in the front. The ones we own have handles in the front. You can also pick them up in the middle.

            by|Jul 28, 2021

A:  You are correct. There is a molded-in hole just in front of the seat that can be used to carry the kayak.

Q:I have a 2012 Buick Verano. I would like to be able to transport the kayak in the trunk with the seats down. Is this possible with type of kayak? This kayak seems flat enough to do so. I know part of it will be sticking out. Thank you.

A:  It is too short for ocean kayaking other than in small bays or canals. Most ocean fishing kayaks are 12' or more and true ocean touring kayaks are 14' and are sit inside types.
