Stopper leaks
I was really impressed with the drain and strainer until I tried to fill a sink with water. I could hear the water trickling out of the sink. I went online today to see if there was a way to adjust the stopper so that it does not leak. I bought the stainless version and everything else about it, I am impressed with. The product seems well made and is very attractive. I just want it to hold water in the sink. For this price, I expected it to be functional.

Leaks,
I hate it when something doesn’t perform the simple thing like it’s supposed to just because some bean counter decided they could make a few more cents by changing to a little o-ring. The strainer with the tiny little o-ring seal has to be set just right or it leaks, you can wipe off the o-ring & seating surface so there is nothing on it to prevent its seating properly, play with it until you think it’s perfectly seated, fill the sink, walk away, come back a few min. later and the sink is empty. I’m seeing the same comments about leaking by others, I know sometimes it’s operator error but it’s not supposed to be that hard to get a drain stopper to seal.

We suggest removing the O-ring from the basket and place the basket/strainer back in the drain body that way. This will give the basket/strainer and drain body the proper seal it needs. Rarely seals correctly
I have never had a strainer that didn’t seal, this one is terrible. At least 50% of the time it won’t seal correctly. I have to pull out the stainer and try again over and over.

Drain is good; strainers not so much
Bought these to install with mynew sink. The strainers dont completely stop water from draining. We bought better strainers.

I thought Kohler would be exceptional quality.
I have tried several drains and none of them lasted. I made the mistake of trying to save money. I recently had granite countertops installed. I decided to go high end on the drains and I bought Kohler. To my disappointment my wife constantly complains that the stopper does not hold water. One of them even separated the stem from the basket. I now wonder if anyone makes a quality sink strainer.
