We took out the carpet due to pets. Now the house is 100% better free of pets smells. Love this product...

We purchased this for a house flip 3 months ago. The homeowner accumulated 12 rescue cats that ran freely throughout house destroying the floors and base boards with their urine and spray.Also the homeowner was a chain smoker and had died in the house and was not found for about a week. After gutting the house of all debris and belongings of homeowner we went to town. We used the restoration killz on all the floors ,baseboards,door and window trim.We rolled over the walls and ceiling. I was very impressed how the primer not only covered the nicotine and fly dropping on walls and trim ,but it blocked the order on the wood floors from all the cat urine and feces. I would highly recomend this product and plan on using it for future jobs

From a vintage trailer that smelled of cigarets, cooking odors, pets, to mold in the bathroom and kitchen and water storage area, Kilz took care of everything quickly and with ease. It looks and feels fresh and clean. For my reincarnated furniture, the primer is amazing! It fills out a porous, rough surfaces and texture differences, hides uneven colors and stains as well as unwanted smells. To get the best from my paint, Kilz takes care of any adhesion problems from various types of surfaces. If there is a ever a problem, this Kilz it!

I removed three layers of linoleum and was down to the Luan flooring.There was an area of flooring that was black and emitted an horrible odor. I tried everything to get the smell out. Nothing worked. I had taped the area off and was going to cut out the whole section and replace it. Right before cutting the floor out, I found a quart of Kilz primer and thought let's try it. I painted the whole area and left for the day. The next day the odor was gone! I could not believe it. I painted the entire apartment with Kilz. It works!!

Needless to say the restoration product line performed up to Kilz standards and the smell of stale cigarettes was gone. The best part, water cleanup! 10 out of 10

The store recommended we paint subfloor with kilz restoration. We did and it covered the odors from the pet odors. Highly recommend

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I can’t tell if Kilz still manufactures their alcohol-based primer, but used it at least 20 years ago to cover the inside of 1952 wooden kitchen cabinets. It’s pretty toxic stuff and you have to keep good airflow not to blow yourself up, but it covered and has worn so well I never want to use anything else

Tried it because we needed a sandable primer. Latex primer swells the wood and raises the grain so it is a must to be able to sand it after it has dried. It did sand smooth fairly easily.

This primer is the best one I've come across short of the one with shellac mixed in. I really dislike using shellac products as it's smelly and clean up is always an issue. I was hesitant to try it as it's nearly double the price of other primers I use but I'm totally converted now. It blocks most tannin bleed through with one application. If I'm nervous about heavy tannins or other kinds of stains I either let it sit over night or do a second application. Try it.

He painted it white and after a few months the knots in the wood starting showing through. He touched up the paint and it happened again. That's when he pulled out the Kilz and it killed those knots from showing through.
