Dear valued HomeDepotCustomer, This is a primed door. We are not sure how it could have gotten "dirty" but if this is indeed the case, when you prep it to paint you certainly can wipe it clean with a mild soap and go ahead and paint it to complete the installation. Thank you.

Dear Valued Homedepot customer, We are sorry to see that you are disappointed with your purchase. I would like to point out that while the product you purchased may look simple and easy to replicate it is not. In fact the simplicity is what makes it such a good product. Other solid core bifolds, which are only sold commercially, are use springs on the back of the door to help them close and have many more moving parts in the track system. Because we use a gauge of aluminum that is twice as thick we do not require the additional support. Our patented hinges also have an oblong barrel and small cam that helps the door close and stay closed. The panels are made of 42LB density MDF which can be readily purchased in 4 X 8 sheets. You would then need to cut it to size, apply glue and banding around all of the edges to keep moisture from entering and edge drill both ends to mount the hardware. It is easy to look at the door and think you could replicate it but in practice it is much more difficult. If it were that simple we would not have professional developers buying a 1000 units at a time for new apartment buildings if they thought they could make it themselves for less money.
