fan is very quiet. throws alot of air. for those who say the light is dim. hold down the light bulb button to set the light on the brightest setting then its blinding. it gets very bright

I love this fan! It's very quiet and I like the fact that you can install it closer to the ceiling than the way it is pictured online. My ceilings are low so the higher up position is better. I love the industrial look and it's kind of vintage looking too. I paid someone to put it in and he had no trouble with it and it didn't take him long at all.

Very quiet, super cool breeze

The Windward 44-Inch Ceiling Fan from the Home Decorators Collection is an outstanding product. This ceiling fan replaced an old one in my small dining room that was in place when I bought my condo over 17 years ago. It was a pleasure to finally replace that old ugly unit with this beautiful one. The installation process was pretty straight forward. I had to study the manual because it was a bit vague on the installation; however, there was a very helpful video I found on YouTube that made sense of the installation process. When I first powered the unit on, there was a clicking sound. I had to partially uninstall it to find that the internal motor wires were in the way of the rotating blades. I had to press down on those wires, then carefully reinstall it. The second attempt was the charm. It works like a champ! The fan is pretty powerful, quiet and very windy. Any napkins on your dining table will wind up on the floor, so I only use the medium or low fan speeds. The light was pretty dim, so the included bulbs must be very low brightness. All the other lights in my home are noticeably brighter. I don't blame the manufacturer. Just be aware that you are getting two dim LED bulbs. The one thing that really impressed me the most beyond the power of the fan is the stability of it. It runs without a wobble! The older unit it replaced had a slight wobble. One more thing to note: There is no remote control to lose! I love the fact that it uses pull chains! In summary, not a perfect installation. Required a second attempt due to manufacturer wiring. Your mileage may vary. Operation is perfect, wobble-free. If you want more light, just replace bulbs with brighter LEDs. Much better ceiling fan than the "Integrated LEDs" you find at Home Depot. In other words, you CAN replace the bulbs yourself. All of the experiences combined has earned this unit a 5 star rating. Highly Satisfied: Yes Recommended: Yes

This fan is excellent and not just the price. It's quiet and doesn't wobble. Deducted one star for assembly as the directions were somewhat vague for hanging flush to the ceiling. We watched a video which explained it fully.

This red fan is gorgeous. I'd describe the red as either Apple or Cherry Red. It's contemporary but looks great in my Country kitchen. It keeps the whole room cool without blowing us away on medium speed. Love it, love it, love it.

I've had this fan installed 4 days ago and am very impressed with it. It replaced another fan very old fan in my bedroom that was loud and off balanced. The fan also required a cover because previously there was a big square light fixture. This new fan is very quiet and keeps the room very cool. I had an electrician install it and he and a helper took about 40 minutes removing and installiing the new one. Highly recommended.

If you don't need much light it is great. I LOVE light so I'm not sure if I will keep it. I plan on trying what another reviewer said and buy a converter and install 75-100 watt bulbs. I put in 60 watt LED and I think they are as bad as the included CFL's. The style and wind output is fantastic. I used to have a fan with 3 lights and 3 100 watt LED. I even removed the GLASS shades so this fan is not doing it at all light wise. i don't know what to do BC this is my 2nd fan in @3 weeks and the light is terrible. Today's fans for the most part have integrated LED in soft white and no daylight/bright white system to exchange out the soft white. Why not start with DAYLIGHT and then you can dim it if you like darker? It seems so simple a fix. You can go from bright to dark but you cannot go dim to start with to bright. Definitely not energy efficient BC I need to turn on several other lights to see in my room.

If brighter LED bulbs were included in place of CFL bulbs I believe it would be even a better deal, hence the reason it lost one star. I replaced the bulbs that came with the fan for brighter LED light bulbs. Replaced with two (2) 5000k 100 watt equivalent bulbs that provide a lot more light. They draw less power than the CFL's for more light.

The air flow is excelent! Easy to instal. This fan is very good.

was very easy to install, installed it in a little under an hour in my bedroom. Fan is very sturdy and quiet even at highest setting.

We love the fan but as many have stated, the light kit has issues and doesnt produce a lot of light. I installed a screw bulb conversion with 100 watt bulbs a year ago n still going strong. 75 watts is probably enough because the bedroom is Super bright now. I can at least share that this bulb fits so 75 watt definitely would. Swap n enjoy> Sylvania 100 watt LED (uses 14 watts). Install a gu24 to A19 conversion n screw in the new bulbs.

A wonderful unit. Easy to install. Wife wanted a light in ceiling and was perfect for small bedroom. We also have identical one in master bedroom over a year now.

Virtually impossible to remove the trim ring from the canopy. Would not unscrew. Had to carefully pry it off. Other than that, the installation went quite smoothly. Replaced the CFLs with LEDs and the lighting level is more than adequate and the LEDs are dimmable. The power head assembly is much larger than expected and the blades almost look undersize. Completely quiet on low speed. I doubt I'll ever use high speed as it is quite loud and everything has to be secured or it will end up on the floor or blowing around the room.

Very easy to assemble, good quality and smooth on all speeds. LOVE the red color, it's a deep red vs. bright. We loved this fan so much we ordered another in white.

I purchased the Windward ceiling fan for both bedrooms in my new condo one block from the beach. They were easy to install, fit in perfect with the coastal decor, and let me enjoy ocean air without air conditioning.

Love, love these fans! We bought three (one for each of our kids rooms). We have been using the fans for a few months now. They generate plenty of air movement, are quiet, and look modern, but not too modern. We added a remote ("Hampton Bay Hampton Bay Ceiling Fan Wall Control, White") that is built into a wall plate to control the fans. The whole set up works great. I also love that there is a simple switch on the fan to change the direction of the blades. For the price, this fan is awesome! We did have these fans installed by an electrician so I can't comment on ease of installation. One of the fans wobbles a bit but the other two not at all...not sure if this is a fan issue or an install issue. But again, for the price these fans are phenomenal.

Looks nice in my kitchen. Sorry, I can't tell you if the assembly and installation was easy. Much as I believe that I've actually turned into the man I always wanted to marry, I can't install ceiling fans. Hired someone.

I installed it flush. Good instructions. My house was wired with 2 switches, one for the fan and one for the light. Works great. A very good fan for the price.

When we bought our house it had 5 of the larger 52 inch versions installed, but the two guest rooms only had light fixtures. We were instantly hooked when we saw this smaller version and have purchased two. I am fairly handy, but even someone with limited skills can easily install this by following the very detailed instructions. These fans run whisper quiet and look great. Highly recommend!

This fan comes at a great price and is very stylish. I tried writing a review earlier, but was unable to add pics. Now that feature is working again. I installed this fan myself which was very simple. The blades were just a bit tricky to attached but I think that is only because this was the first install of this kind. I did forget to place the transmitter into the ceiling and so after it was completely installed I was going to turn it on and noticed what i had done. So the second time around installing the blades was easy. I hung this in my kitchen and love the looks. It has great airflow, it is energy star rated and the airflow efficiency is very high. And because my ceilings are so low, I chose to mount it semi flush without the down rod. I did not like the light bulbs, they are a soft white, which to me looks yellow and dark. I prefer to use all daylight 5000K and so before buying this I was actually going to buy the hampton bay model,but the light bulb for it is hard to find and does not come in a daylight lamp. The Home Decorator's is the same fan but the light bulbs are GU24 bulbs and it's cheaper. I ended up finding the daylight 5000K bulbs at home depot and purchased them when I picked this fan up from delivery. Now the bulbs are expensive, but should last 22 yrs, so I wont ever need to change them hopefully. The daylight bulbs are in the pics. They are kind of hidden within the fixture, so the light output is not as great as it could be. Before installing the daylight bulbs, the light was yellow and very dark. I would totally recommend this fan, but you have to purchase the daylight bulbs or you definitely won't have good lighting. I will also add that I wish the remote was white and had a plate to mount it to the wall. Guess I will improvise and use a command strip to secure it to the wall.

I just installed 2 of these. They look great! Installation wasn't any easier or harder than other ceiling fans I've installed. Because of the high ceilings in my room, I also ordered and installed two Hunter Universal 3-Speed Ceiling Fan Control Model # 99110. I needed two transceivers, and I paired them with a single remote. Works great! This was the best looking fan that I could find in the 44" size. I wish that the blades could have been ordered in a walnut wood option, but the black blades do look pretty nice. I think I'm going to order 2 more of these fans when my store has them in stock.

I installed this fan in a Guest Bedroom to replace an inexpensive, noisy, Contractor-Pack fan. It was actually harder to remove the existing fan, then to completely install this one. The installation directions were very easy to follow. Once the old fan was removed, it took me, from start to finish to install this one about 45-minutes. The motor housing has some good size and weight to it, which justifies the quality of the motor. I absolutely love how the fan blades just snap into their slots securely. I didn't have to mess with screwing each blade on. It took me about 1-minute to install all 5 blades! Once the fan installation was complete, I was surprised at how quiet the fan is. It is really quiet even on high. Overall, I love everything about this fan. I highly recommend this fan, with it's appealing price, ease of installation, quality, and appearance, you can't go wrong taking a serious look at this fan.

This fan is easy to install and has a nice look.Instructions were good and gave two options for install,One option is to install it with an extended profile an the other against the ceiling which I did. It has three speeds and off.High speed for me is over kill for the area I am cooling,Medium works best for me.It comes with two cfl bulbs and they are OK but I put in LEDs because I like the energy savings they provide.It really is a nice fan and will enjoy it for a long time to come.
