It’s big enough, spacious and I love it

I wasn't sure if this would be big enough to fit two Hampton Bay mid-back deck cushions, but it was plenty big! Just fold the cushions up - you could probably even fit 4 if you stack them! The box was relatively easy to put together - you only need a Philips head screwdriver at the end and everything else slides in to tracks. It hasn't rained yet since we installed it to really put it to the test, but I feel confident!

Exactly what I was looking for! The Hampton Bay 110-Gal Deck Box was easy to assemble, taking about 30 minutes. I would recommend finishing assembly where you want to use it. The instructions are detailed and easy to follow. One suggestion for Hampton Bay would be to make the lock tabs and slots more substantial. Otherwise, installation went well. We are placing it on the pool deck to store cushions, throw pillows, pool toys, floats even extra towels. We have had some very warm days and now it's raining. It keeps everything inside perfectly dry. Hydraulic hinge included so you don't have to manually hold the lid open. Also, No worries about the lid accidentally falling on hands. We have grandchildren, so this was very important. The Driftwood Grey color and pattern is attractive, handles on both sides. weather resistant, the lid locks. Overall, it is a great deck box.

This 110 gallon deck box is a handy item. Comes in a Grey, weathered wood look that blends well Into the surroundings. The major plus details include handhold on the side for easy moving, slow closing hinges (keep your hands safe) and the ability to be locked. It's also weather resistant, easy to clean and dent resistant. Assembly was easy even on one of our high wind spring days. Only slight negative was that two of the holes drilled for the hinge Assembly were off and had to be adjusted. But overall it's a yes from me.

FORM and FUNCTIONALITY: Hampton Bay’s deck box is a great way to store cushions, toys, or gardening supplies. The seat-lid is sturdy. It easily held my 170lbs. The gas struts hold the lid up, making it easy to load or unload. However the lid doesn’t quite close completely, and the gap between the lid and the box could let water in. A padlock or snap-clip should solve the problem. We have the identical box in “Java brown” which has endured wind, rain, and snow without leaking, but the lid on that box closes firmly without any gaps. (see pic for a color comparison) CAPACITY: If you’re planning to store large cushions, carefully check their dimensions against the interior dimensions of the box. Our cushions were just a bit too big to fit squarely and had to be stored at an angle (pic). ASSEMBLY is problematic. The sides and bottom slide together easily without tools and the lid snaps in place. But the self tapping screws that attach the metal “gas shock bracket/hinges” are difficult to install. There are no pre-drilled holes in the lid, so must push hard while screwing them in, and they “drill” their own holes. I’m an experienced DIY’er and an average strength man and couldn’t get them to start. A drill with a 12 inch extension solved the problem (see video). Just be careful not to over tighten. You also MUST install the machine screws (pics) on the lower part of the hinge first. If you don’t, they won’t line up. COLOR: If you’re on the fence between choosing this box in Driftwood Grey or Java Brown, see the pic that shows a section of the unassembled Driftwood Grey propped up against the fully assembled Java Brown. The Driftwood is a warm grey that tends to “disappear” whereas the Java Brown stands out, especially against a lighter deck or concrete patio. Easy to assemble - no tools required other than two screws to attach the straps on the lid. Very cool (and easy) the way the pieces slide together. Despite this, the box is incredibly solid. The lid shuts very tight to keep the elements out. Not sure if you are supposed to sit on it - but you definitely can! Has a metal latch which can accommodate a lock. Handles on both sides make it easy to move.

I ordered this 110 gallon storage box to replace an old similar sized tub with a push on lid that I've used for several years. Depending on the temperature, I sometimes had a real struggle to get the lid pulled off so I could get to things I needed. This one not only looks so much nicer, but the lid just lifts up (and stays up until I want to close it). So much easier! Assembly on these is not really easy for one person, but since this is my second one (I got the 130 gallon to store horse blankets in) I already knew to tweak the instructions. I enlisted my sister to help me, plus used my electric drill with a real small bit to make little starter holes for the self-tapping screws to go into. The screws that come with the kit are not sharp enough to get started without a lot of muscle, through the tough material of the box. The hinge for the lid runs all along the back. Just hold the lid at the completely open position and push it into place. Once you close the lid up, it will hold right in place. As usual, directions and diagrams of how to put it together could be more clear, but once you figure it out, it goes together okay. It is a nice box and should work out well. I can fit my chair cushions and my collection of power cords inside easily.

This is extremely easy to put together. Just pay attention to the diagram, so that you install the panels right side up. I say this, because i made this mistake. The bottom, sides and top all click together. you don't need a screwdriver or tool until you connect the fabric stop at the top. The container is a nice size, so that you can move it around, but also put quite a bit into it for storage. Personal experience; do not put birdseed into it. The storage unit is NOT ant proof and they will love the dry opportunity, plus food to create a hive.

It was really easy to put together with help. Everything pretty much slides in and only a few screws are used. Once put together hubby and I moved it outside and stored all of our yard and grass seed and mulch inside. Unfortunately the ground that the box is layer on isnt level so you can see where the box isn’t fully straight on the bottom but because it’s plastic it conforms to the area. So I think it will work out good.keeps everything dry and safe because we can lock it up.

This Hampton Bay 50 Gal, Grey Resin Wood Look Outdoor Storage Deck Box is super easy to put together. The base and sides have slots and groves that just slide together to make a really nice storage box. The lid is able to be locked with a padlock if needed. I am not a thin person and I am able to sit on the box with no sagging. The is a metal bar to reinforce the lid. The lid also has a strap to hold the lid open while you take things out of the box.

This deck box has a large capacity for outdoor storage. While it doesn't quite hold all of our oversized outdoor cushions we're able to fit most of them. The latch doesn't close very well on it's own (you don't get that satisfactory "snap") so you need to be sure that the top is properly secure if you're going to leave things in this during adverse weather. It does close all the way, you just need to give it an extra nudge. Outside of the top not latching very well it does come with a lock hole, so you can place a lock to secure it. The box is easily constructed and any beginner could figure it out and quickly assemble the parts. The slow close gas shocks for the top are a really nice feature as it stays open when you're loading things and won't slam shut on any fingers. We just had a large rainstorm and the lid wasn't shut all the way so some water leaked in. If it was closed properly I would imagine that this would have kept our cushions entirely dry. Overall a good purchase for the price.

Ordered the deck box to store pool chemicals and supplies for my pool. The box was easy to assemble without tools in about 10 minutes by sliding the panels together until they lock in place and installing the lid straps. The box has an attractive driftwood look finish that looks like it will hold up to the elements and keep out the rain. The lid has a locking mechanism to secure the contents with a padlock and mounting holes on the sides of the unit to fasten it to the floor if desired. The 55-gallon size is just right for pool maintenance equipment and supplies. Very happy with the product.

Hampton Bay 110 gallon Driftwood Grey Resin Wood Deck Box. This deck box is the perfect addition to your patio furniture and storage. This deck box is very easy to assemble. It took me about 30 minutes to assemble. I like that this deck box is engineered and designed so that the sides slide together and lock into the base without the use of screws. In addition, the lid is interlocking with the deck box back with the same engineering. The only parts that require screws are the gas strut brackets. The 110 gallon capacity of this deck box makes it a versatile storage box for patio furniture cushions and other items to help protect them when not in use. The interlocking design of the sides and lid ensures that this deck box with last a lifetime even in the harshest weather conditions. I live on the Gulf Coast of Texas and the salt air is very corrosive on my metal patio furniture and Barbecue. I certainly appreciate being able to find an all resin deck box. His deck box is well built and doubles for extra seating. Currently, I'm using my deck box for extra storage in the Grandkids room but plan to take it outside once I have a more permanent storage solution. So I got this Hampton Bay 110 gallon driftwood grey resin wood deck box to store out patio sofa cushions and some outdoor games during winter time and I was surprised by just how big this 110 gallon box is. It’s also super durable and very easy to assemble. It’s strong enough to support my 205 lbs without any bowing or bending. Gas cylinders on the lid make it very easy to open and close the lid. Has a lock ring so a pad lock can be added and also features 4 holes to secure box to deck or patio. Highly recommend.

This is a nice and sturdy easy to assemble deck box. The box snaps into place and the only tool needed is a Philips head screw driver to attached the lid strap. This box is on the smaller end of what is available so I use it to store the pillows for my patio furniture and it does the trick. There are 4 holes at the base to attached it to wood, concrete, or the ground if you are in an area with high winds. I highly recommend this deck box because it can be used as an extra seat, looks great with the driftwood stamped finish, and safely stores you items while offering the security of a lock too. I will be purchasing a larger one to store my seat cushions as well.

Great gray color and classy look to this storage container. This was so easy to put together, very slick design to make it so simple for the consumer. The 50 gallon was bigger then I thought and will be used on our deck for a few cushions etc. It would also be great for children's outdoor toys or pool games and towels. I have friends and neighbors that have liked it and are going to use it for gardening products and tools.

A quick and easy build to get some extra storage space out in the garden. We are using our storage box to keep all our potting mix and garden tools readily available near our garden beds. All the pieces click in together without any tools. Installation took barely 2 minutes. The box is very sturdy and has some heft to it. I was able to sit on it at 155lbs and there was no flex on the lid or the overall structure. Another thing I love about this box is that it seals perfectly, it has a very satisfying thud when it closes. I can’t attest how it does in the rain, as it hasn’t rained since we have gotten the box, but the way the lid is designed it should prevent water from getting into the box. There also are two water run offs/cut outs in the rear corners of the lid to prevent water from building up on the lid. The only potential entry point for water and bugs seems to be where the opening is for the hook for the lock. But overall very pleased with the box!

This is a great value deck box, very sturdy, made in what seems to be high density polyethylene. Assembly was pretty easy, although two screws were missing from the packaging. The screws are tertiary though, and are only used to secure the deck box to the deck if you wish to do so, I didn’t want to punch through my composite decking and make holes, so I didn’t use this option. Finding replacement screws is not a big deal either. Every part is injection molded, sturdy, but oddly with big lettering that says made in China, both in English and in Chinese characters. This lettering space would’ve been better utilized by marking the actual letter of the part of assembly. Dell, I have to say bonus points for ease of assembly. This was one of the most well designed plastic things I’ve ever put together. That packaging was not great, there was no protection for the parts even though they are sturdy I got a few dings and scratches as well as missing a few screws. Otherwise a great deck box and will give me plenty of room for Knick knacks/odds and ends I keep on the deck.

I wanted a large storage box for my craft room. The Hampton Bay 50 gallon Deck Box was a great pick. The box was super easy to put together and tool less than 10 minutes from start to finish. The instructions were well written and the box assembled with no issues. The box is heavy resin construction, yet light weight. The color in a pleasant "Driftwood Grey" and has a wood-like finish on the outside. The lid seal solidly and is a very sturdy and the inside dimensions are 39" Length by 19" Wide by 17" deep inside. The box would work well outside on my patio and I plan to get the larger version to store patio stuff.

Decent plastic deck box. I had to add a 3/4" aluminum angle piece inside below the latch to strengthen and straighten the front so it closed securely. It is water resistant, but don't open the lid quickly if there is still water standing on it as it will run inside - lift slowly and it will run out the drain channels.

This was easy to put together except for the self starter screws. i've never come across those and I prefer regular ones over them, however, it still only took about 45 min. It is sturdy, holds up well. Only issue is when it rains and you lift the lid afterwards, some water seeps in through the back lid area. its minimal.

If you are trying to match this to a furniture set, it is NOT GREY. Also comes apart very easily if you move it at all after placing it. The front kept popping out when putting cushions in it. It’s nice but not sturdy enough if it is on any surface other than a solid concrete floor.

Sturdy construction, assembly straightforward, lid can be a seat as advertised. However, I did have to lean in hard to drive in the self-tapping screws. In retrospect, I could have drilled little holes to make that go easier.

Easy to put together and plenty of space for storage.

Exactly what we were looking for - a storage bin for packages at the end of our driveway. Easy to put together and very sturdy.

I am pleased with this storage box. It's not perfect - lid does not fall perfectly into place (a little weather stipping waas needed to seal it from rain. - but otherwise it's an outstanding value for the money.
