It’s big enough, spacious and I love it

I wasn't sure if this would be big enough to fit two Hampton Bay mid-back deck cushions, but it was plenty big! Just fold the cushions up - you could probably even fit 4 if you stack them! The box was relatively easy to put together - you only need a Philips head screwdriver at the end and everything else slides in to tracks. It hasn't rained yet since we installed it to really put it to the test, but I feel confident!

Exactly what I was looking for! The Hampton Bay 110-Gal Deck Box was easy to assemble, taking about 30 minutes. I would recommend finishing assembly where you want to use it. The instructions are detailed and easy to follow. One suggestion for Hampton Bay would be to make the lock tabs and slots more substantial. Otherwise, installation went well. We are placing it on the pool deck to store cushions, throw pillows, pool toys, floats even extra towels. We have had some very warm days and now it's raining. It keeps everything inside perfectly dry. Hydraulic hinge included so you don't have to manually hold the lid open. Also, No worries about the lid accidentally falling on hands. We have grandchildren, so this was very important. The Driftwood Grey color and pattern is attractive, handles on both sides. weather resistant, the lid locks. Overall, it is a great deck box.

This 110 gallon deck box is a handy item. Comes in a Grey, weathered wood look that blends well Into the surroundings. The major plus details include handhold on the side for easy moving, slow closing hinges (keep your hands safe) and the ability to be locked. It's also weather resistant, easy to clean and dent resistant. Assembly was easy even on one of our high wind spring days. Only slight negative was that two of the holes drilled for the hinge Assembly were off and had to be adjusted. But overall it's a yes from me.

FORM and FUNCTIONALITY: Hampton Bay’s deck box is a great way to store cushions, toys, or gardening supplies. The seat-lid is sturdy. It easily held my 170lbs. The gas struts hold the lid up, making it easy to load or unload. However the lid doesn’t quite close completely, and the gap between the lid and the box could let water in. A padlock or snap-clip should solve the problem. We have the identical box in “Java brown” which has endured wind, rain, and snow without leaking, but the lid on that box closes firmly without any gaps. (see pic for a color comparison) CAPACITY: If you’re planning to store large cushions, carefully check their dimensions against the interior dimensions of the box. Our cushions were just a bit too big to fit squarely and had to be stored at an angle (pic). ASSEMBLY is problematic. The sides and bottom slide together easily without tools and the lid snaps in place. But the self tapping screws that attach the metal “gas shock bracket/hinges” are difficult to install. There are no pre-drilled holes in the lid, so must push hard while screwing them in, and they “drill” their own holes. I’m an experienced DIY’er and an average strength man and couldn’t get them to start. A drill with a 12 inch extension solved the problem (see video). Just be careful not to over tighten. You also MUST install the machine screws (pics) on the lower part of the hinge first. If you don’t, they won’t line up. COLOR: If you’re on the fence between choosing this box in Driftwood Grey or Java Brown, see the pic that shows a section of the unassembled Driftwood Grey propped up against the fully assembled Java Brown. The Driftwood is a warm grey that tends to “disappear” whereas the Java Brown stands out, especially against a lighter deck or concrete patio. Easy to assemble - no tools required other than two screws to attach the straps on the lid. Very cool (and easy) the way the pieces slide together. Despite this, the box is incredibly solid. The lid shuts very tight to keep the elements out. Not sure if you are supposed to sit on it - but you definitely can! Has a metal latch which can accommodate a lock. Handles on both sides make it easy to move.

I ordered this 110 gallon storage box to replace an old similar sized tub with a push on lid that I've used for several years. Depending on the temperature, I sometimes had a real struggle to get the lid pulled off so I could get to things I needed. This one not only looks so much nicer, but the lid just lifts up (and stays up until I want to close it). So much easier! Assembly on these is not really easy for one person, but since this is my second one (I got the 130 gallon to store horse blankets in) I already knew to tweak the instructions. I enlisted my sister to help me, plus used my electric drill with a real small bit to make little starter holes for the self-tapping screws to go into. The screws that come with the kit are not sharp enough to get started without a lot of muscle, through the tough material of the box. The hinge for the lid runs all along the back. Just hold the lid at the completely open position and push it into place. Once you close the lid up, it will hold right in place. As usual, directions and diagrams of how to put it together could be more clear, but once you figure it out, it goes together okay. It is a nice box and should work out well. I can fit my chair cushions and my collection of power cords inside easily.

This is extremely easy to put together. Just pay attention to the diagram, so that you install the panels right side up. I say this, because i made this mistake. The bottom, sides and top all click together. you don't need a screwdriver or tool until you connect the fabric stop at the top. The container is a nice size, so that you can move it around, but also put quite a bit into it for storage. Personal experience; do not put birdseed into it. The storage unit is NOT ant proof and they will love the dry opportunity, plus food to create a hive.

It was really easy to put together with help. Everything pretty much slides in and only a few screws are used. Once put together hubby and I moved it outside and stored all of our yard and grass seed and mulch inside. Unfortunately the ground that the box is layer on isnt level so you can see where the box isn’t fully straight on the bottom but because it’s plastic it conforms to the area. So I think it will work out good.keeps everything dry and safe because we can lock it up.
