I recently installed the Home-Flex CSST gas pipe in my home, and I'm extremely disappointed with this product. It started leaking gas immediately after installation, and despite my efforts to fix it, the problem persists.
The quality of this product is very poor, and it seems that the manufacturer has cut corners in the manufacturing process. The fittings don't fit properly, and are a one time use. A new gasket is required each time the connection is made. I have no doubt that this product is dangerous and could potentially cause a gas leak that could lead to a disaster.
I strongly advise against purchasing the Home-Flex CSST gas pipe, as it is a complete waste of money and could put your home and family at risk. Save yourself the trouble and invest in a more reliable and trustworthy product.

Easy to use
Worked the first time. Ensure the pipe end is flat and clean. Used a palm sander to finish the end. Perfect seal.

I have only tried Ward flex before and have had absolutely no issues. I was doing a smaller project and wanted to save some money so I tried the homeflex. Not only is it thinner and almost impossible to get a clean cut the terminations for the ends are super low quality. When you try to clamp down the end of the flex into the gasket that is there it pulls out very easy and the washers are not reusable and non-replaceable so you have to buy a whole new fitting if you don't get a good seal and that can end up costing you more than the Ward flex. The home flex is much thinner and does not last as long.

Hi, Rosemont - Sorry you had difficulties with our product; however, there are some inaccuracies in your statement. Home Flex is not thinner than Ward Flex and both are 304 grade stainless steel. Their black jacketed product is thicker and is not the same as our yellow jacketed product. Their yellow jacketed product and ours are the same. Both are built and certified to very specific LC1 standards. As for a clean cut, it's important to use a sharp rotational cutter. Using tin snips or a dull cutter is likely to leave a shard and is not unique to any manufacturer's CSST tubing. As for the fittings being pulled off, the only way this could happen is that it wasn't tightened enough. Some first time users stop when they think it is tight for fear of stripping the fitting. Full details are included in our Home-Flex CSST Design & Installation Manual available at homeflex.com or on HD's website with our product listing. As for "washers not reusable, not replaceable" that's simply incorrect. The hard fiber gasket is most certainly replaceable and there's even a replacement pack at most Home Depot stores (part number 11-057C.) Obviously one doesn't need to purchase an entirely new fitting. CSST users should review the manual AND register with Home-Flex (via homeflex.com/get certified).
