Customer Reviews for HOME-FLEX 3/4 in. CSST x 250 ft. Corrugated Stainless Steel Tubing

Overall the pipe worked well. The connections were easy to make, and the flexibility really made for an easy install. I needed to connect an outdoor gas grill, and a fire pit table. The 3/4 inch fit the bill, and what I needed was exactly 25 feet. The one issue which prevented me from giving it 5 stars, was the condition of the factory cut ends. I hoped they were accurately cut, and burr free. That was not the case. I therefore needed to spend an extra $40 for the pipe cutter to get a clean cut. If it's expected that you must purchase this at the same time, you should be made aware of this.

This product was very simple to work with

I took a chance on this one because the other big box store didn't carry it in 75 foot length. This is not a bad product if you are meticulous in cutting the tube straight, round, and without burrs. Follow the directions to the exact detail. Make sure you crimp the ring so its a circular shape and does not spin easily in the valley. On one end of the tube I polished out a burr with my dremel grinding wheel. I had to tighten each nut anywhere from 50-70 ft-lb. Both terminals under pressure passed the soapy water test, so I'm happy enough.

This was a good product. Saved me time and headache working with the black iron. It might have costed a little more than the Black Iron. I deducted a Star because the Home-Flex website (where you have to go get certified) was horrible with broken links. They also advertise parts they don't make any more (like the Tee) which was very frustrating as I planned what I was doing based off of what they said was available on the website.

This is the best stuff since sliced bread. Takes all the headache of running black pipe out of the picture. Very easy to use and move a line if needed like I had too. Took longer to drill the holes than to pull the line.

Works good enough and its nice that you can get certified from them so that you can show your inspector if he wants to know who installed the pipe. The only thing that I dont like is that the yellow plastic sleeve cracks easy. Making the install look messy. Unsure if code allows for painting or removal of the plastic yellow sleeve, or if you can just paint the yellow plastic sleeve. Simple enough to connect. Use a copper tube cutter.. pliers to crimp.. and you are set.

Really made converting my back yard barbecue and fire pit a breeze. Make sure you install a shut off valve between the tubing and hose. All hoses leak gas under even low 1/2 pound gas pressure Just ask a welder. Don't do this if you aren't 100% sure what you are doing. Double check all connections for leaks. To change from propane to Natural Gas use a jet kit or you can just drill the propane jets 30% larger. Exactly like drilling carburetor jets. Never leave the gas valve open if you're not using the gas. I always close the gas valve off and let it burn out at the barbecue or firepit. Then I go close the valve on the barbecue and /or fire pit.

Do not pay attention to the negative reviews of this CSST. If you have an issue with leaks after installing this product it is more than likely becasue you did not follow the instructions and that is no fault of the manufacturer. On every fitting that you purchase there is a sticker that reminds you to follow the instructions and those instructions are included with every fitting! Not to mention several online videos and a free istruction booklet right next to all the products! I installed 25 feet to feed a gas dryer and it was 100% leak free the first time (pressure tested for 24 hours to verify). I have no issues with this product and if your looking for CSST that works then look no further.

When my wife and I decided to remodel our kithcen my wife wanted a gas oven. I was not looking forward to removing the bulkhead in our finished basement just to run the black pipe. When I found home flex I got excited. The whole install took only two hours. I fished the csst through the bulk head and connected both ends with no leaks. Were is the easy botton?

First you MUST read the online instructions they cover sizing, assembly, routing, securing and bonding. Plus the manufacturer has videos. Very easy to install. After the local Gas company found 23 leaks in the old black pipe system, I redid everything in Home-Flex except the fist 20 ft from the gas meter which I re-doped and re-assembled the original black pipe. As for leaks absolutely none in the Home-Flex - tested at 10 psi for 1 hr with compressed air. Just passed final inspection from the Gas company, purged lines - no leaks - gas is back on. Let me clear up a couple of incorrect reviews - the black O-ring does not seal the fitting - it is there to keep gunk from getting under the jacket - see instructions for using tape if you lose the o-ring. Also replacement brass retainer ring, o-rings and fitting non-metallic gasket are available at HD both online and at stores that carry Home-Flex. A tip that may help you make a leak free connection the first time - I took a metal file to each cut end, removed any burs or uneven cuts before assembly - if you look at the instructions burs are a common reason for a leaky connection. Finally the 1 inch by 3/4 inch manifold in my photo is only available by special order from HD - you won't find it at the stores or on the web site.

I needed to pull the pipe through tight space under the house and hook up my heater and oven. With Home Flex it went fast, its easy to put all the fittings on, its clean. You need to be careful not to cut yourself as the edges of stainless steel tube are razor sharp and don't forget to ground the pipe to avoid lighting damage.

Complete trash could not get ends to seal ripped it all out and used black iron pipe

I bought this to replace old copper from LP gas tank to the house. I could never get the fittings to stop leaking where they join the line. So I got an experienced plumber, Three new fittings and hours later, still leaking. Propane company came, no luck. Perhaps I purchased 75 ft of defective pipe. But this was a waste of $200. Had to purchase copper with yellow clad poly. That works with the flared fitting install For my, Forget Home-flex. GO COPPER!!!

Seems to be ok. Managed to get the job done. But trying to get to spec’d torque without twisting into a knot is impossible

Not delivered on promised date. Needed to make a 65-mile round trip to another store to pick up because of urgent need. When finally delivered, it was returned. Very disappointed in Home Depot. No longer trust Home Depot for delivery on promised date.

Horrible experience. I had a short run of about 12 feet including the black pipe that joined the csst and then a floor flange. First connection to the black pipe failed to hold pressure, so I purchased another gasket set for 1/2 inch CSST and installed it. This one failed to hold pressure also. I followed the included instructions, de-burred the cut, tighten ed the retainer ring where it would barely move and tightened the assembly to the point where I thought that it might strip. Failure.

good price on your CCST products, been using them foe a bit now, never had any issues with them, stoke is always on time. Pickup is perfect for my company.

It is tricky to cut and make connections using CSST. Maybe there are professional grade tools for working with this tubing. I got the job done by cutting with a Dremel tool with a cutting wheel, but it is a challenge.

Was very easy to make connections and navigate around the basement ceiling.
