I had been planning for a while to install a lamp post in my front yard, to illuminate a well-traveled walkway and add some curb appeal to the front of my home, but had been procrastinating for at least the past 2 years because the project would require running electrical wiring underground from a power source and switch at the house. This lamp installs quickly and easily without the need for electrical wires. I’m using the lamp on a pole that I purchased separately, but like that this lamp includes accessories for optional mounting on a vertical wall or flat surface. Before use, the included 11-element candelabra bulb needs be installed by removing the two screws at the top of the fixture. Take note not to lose the 2 little black washers when you remove the screws. The lamp is constructed of cast aluminum with a flat black painted finish and 6 shades made of clear glass, not plastic. A weatherproof switch at the top of the lamp controls the power and light output, with the choice of hi or low. The low setting is plenty bright and provides a bit more run time than the higher light output setting. The lamp is light-activated and will stay on for 6-10 hours depending on the output setting and the amount of battery charge. Unlike traditional LEDs which are stark white, the bulb that is included with this fixture emits a soft white light, similar to incandescent light, which is very warm, inviting and easy on the eyes. I placed the lamp in front of my house, in an area adjacent to the driveway that doesn’t receive a lot of direct sunlight, but it is enough light to charge the solar cells to the lamp works reliably. The photocell is very sensitive and turns the lamp on at dusk. I recommend this Gamma Sonic lamp as an alternative to running outdoor electrical wiring. The lamp is reliable and build quality is very good compared to others I’ve looked at.

I absolutely love my new Victorian Bulb Solar Lamp. So easy to install, and it only took a few minutes to remove the top, and install the 10-year LED bulb. I commend the manufacturer on the overall quality of this Solar Lamp. It is extremely well made, and well designed. I also appreciate that the light indicator (low-off-high) is located on the outside of the lamp. and further that it is encased in clear rubber to keep moisture out. I wasn't sure as to where I would place it, so I set it up as in the photo. I have since decided to use the included mounting hardware, and it will be attached to the end of the roof joist for more exposure, and more light. I love it as it is, but feel that being elevated, and mounted will provide greater lighting. It is beautiful to look at, day or night. The reflective cone in the bottom of the unit makes appear as if there's two LED bulbs. It is really nice and I highly recommend it to any interested party. You will not be disappointed.

The light arrived fully assembled less the installation of the bulb and choice of mounting plate. The top is removed with two small acorn shaped nuts. There's an external weather-proof three position switch to select HIGH-OFF-LOW settings. I didn't notice much of a difference between HIGH and LOW and the included pamphlet doesn't specify how much longer the lamp will burn on the LOW setting. It automatically activates dusk 'till dawn and is not a motion sensor. The four beveled glass panels are securely attached to the black powder-coated cast-aluminum body and should the need arise the candelabra LED bulb is easily replaceable by simply removing the two acorn nuts. The lamp ships with three bases, 3 in. OD pole mount, deck mount or wall mount so you can basically install it anywhere. I installed it on the south facing wall of my garage which gets the most sunlight all day. I learned from experience with my other solar lights that since the solar panel lays flat on top of the lamp it's going to collect dirt and snow so mounting it low enough to be able to keep it clean will be important to keep it working at its optimum. They say the battery pack will last 3 years, about a 1000 charges, and it's a little plug-in unit that's easily replaced. This is, without a doubt, the nicest solar light I have. I'm very impressed with the amount of light it gives off. Gamasonic's 2 Year Warranty says, "If within two (2) years from the date of purchase, this product fails due to a defect in material or workmanship, GAMA SONIC USA, Inc. will repair or replace it, at its discretion , free of charge. This warranty applies only to the original purchaser and is not transferable."

Great lights and very easy to assemble and install

Beautiful light got it for a solar lamp post whose light was broken. Totally revived the lamp post and looks amazing!

This was a replacement for a model I purchased years ago. It fit the post perfectly and provides plenty of light.

We love these solar lights. They work well. They actually last all night. They have a on/off button as well as a low light and high light switch. That is protected as well as not super visible by others. Great size. Worked perfect what the project we needed them for.

Easy to install. One of the brightest, most affordable, lights we could find.

This solar light is pretty much useless in the pacific northwest. In fall/winter we get more overcast days than clear, blue ones. On the overcast days it does not last the night and goes out in the early AM. It also doesn't seem to be sealed correctly and builds up condensation on the outer glass, which further dims the unit and has to be wiped off. Very disappointing, considering the marketing and price.

Looks real nice and it adds distance from where it really is.

Great alternative if you don’t want to spend hundreds of dollars to have an electrician to wire your home just to install wall lanterns.

Light did not work. I returned it to the store. Bought another one from a different store. That light did not work either. Will have to return it as well. I have never had this issue with Gama sonic solar lights in the past.

Great lighting for our driveway.

The lights have never worked. Sent an email to Gama Sonic and they sent me replacement batteries, but lights still do not work. Sent them another email and waiting on their reply.

The product came to me not functional. I returned it and got a cheaper plastic version for half the price that actually works. Very disappointed

Very easy to put together. Love that it is solar, and very satisfied.

Works really well even when we turned it on low it was still bright., I would recommend this over and over again...

Great fixture puts out a lot of light. Easy setup

Package arrived fine, contents intact, easy enough to assemble, but the light never came on after sitting in the sunlight for 3 days. I rechecked all steps with no luck. It's unfortunate, the lamp itself is very nice looking. Now lets see how the return process at Home Depot goes.

Solar lamp did not work.

The light was easy to install and Is built solid. It provides lighting from dusk to dawn (at least here in Texas in the springtime with plenty of sunshine). The light is even set in the bright mode which puts out about 130 lumens. We have two and they always turn on within a minute of each other.

In April 2018 I bought the Gama Sonic Baytown II Solar Lamp for my front yard. The model is GS-105FPW. It looks like the lamp pictured here, but it's rectangular, not "Victorian." Even after the brightest and longest of sunny days, the lamp's light is anemic from the moment it comes on until it goes off. It doesn't always last all night. Perhaps the current model has been upgraded?

Absolutely amazing! Works right out of the box. Install the light bulb. Actually has fasteners that fit!!! WOW! I was concerned as prior lights needed to be "charged" up before use. Not this one! Easy to install the light bulb, fasten down the cover turn it on and it works!! Can't begin to tell you how amazing that is these days. Well made, I ordered another one for the back yard.

Very easy to install. Batteries come charged. Gives off plenty of light 9n low. Very pleased so far. Light last all night.

Very attractive light, works great. Bright light, but don’t expect to hunt for something you drop. This light is to look at not to use as a spot light. Fit well on my old electric light post.

Very easy to install! No hassle because it comes on automatically at dark. I wish it put off a little more light, but overall, excellent buy.
