It’s made for short people. I didn’t realize how short the refrigerator was until I got it in the house because they don’t have this on display in stores. It’s the square footage, width and depth I expected, but not the height. As a result, you can’t see what’s on the top shelf w/o bending down.

You get what you pay for. Still true today. The fridge is just about 18 months new, and the fan quit. The fridge is made in China, cheep, cheep, cheep. Look for better quility.

What to do about this refrigerator? I purchased the FFTR1222QW in August, and had it repaired 5 times before it was finally replaced. Now the replacement unit is doing the same thing: freezer filling with frost, refrigerator very humid, and starting to freeze items on the top shelf. The noise it has started emitting makes me wonder if it's about to take flight! It's so cute, I wish it didn't have these problems.

I have a small kitchen in a 1950's house. I bought this model because I live alone and don't need 16 cubic feet, and I hoped the narrower width would free up some space. The big problem is the freezer. I would rate it four stars if not for this: it cycles from rock solid cold to thaw and then re-freezes. Ice cubes melt and than re-freeze in a solid mass. Ice cream melts, and then freezes so hard you can't dish it out, and by thawing and re-freezing constantly, it crystalizes. I tried turning up the cold setting on the control, but that doesn't seem to help. The refrigerator part of this appliance is fine, although the "crisper drawers" at the bottom are really just boxes...no sliding track. Also, the door requires a two-inch clearance from the hinge-side wall, somewhat negating the advantage of the narrower width. These are details I couldn't discern from the on-line listing. I called everywhere to see one in real time, but NOBODY keeps this in stock...too much room taken up by the expensive behemoths with all the bells and whistles. Despite the issues with the freezer, the refrigerator section seems to keep the food cold, and at a reasonably constant temperature. Nice glass shelves, but no covered compartment in the door for butter (along with the crisper "boxes" mentioned above, two small but significant issues). Why must "small" equate with "crummy?" We don't all live in McMansions.

The refrigerator's size and aesthetic are suited ideally for the apartment. It is wonderful.

I have had 7 service calls on this refrigerator in the 6 months I have owned it. Like others have written, the freezer portion begins to fill with frost and the back panel ices over. Then the fan and motor make terrible grinding sounds, loud enough to wake me from a sound sleep, and the rerigerator compartment ceases to cool properly. So far, the motor has been replaced twice, the fan has been replaced, and I recently got a new motherboard. The problem resolves for a few weeks, and then the process starts again. Today, the technician replaced the door seal. This product is defective, and I am very surprised it has not been recalled. If you need a refrigerator for a small space, I recommend you purchase a different brand.

Exactly as described. It fit perfectly in the space provided in our office suite. We have approximately 10 employees and has plenty of room for everyone's stuff.

I bought this model less than a year ago and within that year a major component went out.

I should have looked at the product in the store instead of going by the on line dimensions. I bought it for a rental unit in another state. I ordered it online, and had it dropped shipped. When the renters sent me a picture it was way to small. Trying to do an exchange with Home Depot is a nightmare. I may end up eating the cost of this and just purchase the proper size one from Lowe's.

We love our new little refrigerator. It is just the right size to hold all the food we need for a small family. The storage on the door is surprisingly spacious, holding milk cartons and bottles. The freezer is also larger then we expected it to be another pleasant surprise. We also like the compact size of the unit as we have a very small kitchen and every inch counts. This unit allowed us to save enough space to make our cabinet layout work. The cost was also a very good deal as other compact refrigerator cost a lot more. It's a good buy.

(Lost all the food in fridge/ freezer) - my daughter checked everything to make sure plugged in, no power loss, etc. Finally she unplugged it and replugged and that fixed it. But then about a week later it did it again. She did the same thing and since then no problems. Very frustrating.
